Simple water boost hydrating gel cream became my new favorite moisturizer. This is gel-based yet hydrating for my normal to dehydrated skin. With the regular usage, it actually worked on the dehydration from deep within and my skin doesn’t feel dry throughout the day. For oily skin, it can be a bit too hydrating especially if you are living in warmer regions but for cold-dry weather, this will work great for oily skin too. It didn’t result in any breakouts or clogged pores and worked great for my sensitive and acne-prone skin.

To be honest, I genuinely thought this Simple Gel cream was for oily skin because of its gel-like texture and consistency until I read the term “for dry skin”. I received this as a sample with my Nykaa order and have been using it since then.

It lasted way longer than I expected so I thought why not go ahead and share my experience with this little one.

I have been using this Simple gel-cream moisturizer day and night on my sensitive and acne-prone skin so if you have been looking for Simple Water Boost Hydrating Gel Cream Product Review, you are on the right page.

My Personal Favourites

Niharika X Nykaa

I did develop some allergies resulting in eczema and severe dehydration but touchwood, as of now my skin is getting back to normal.

Packaging: It comes in a blue and white-themed squeezable tube with a flip-flop cap. The sample I have has a screw cap. Easy to carry, use, and store.

Fragrance: None as such.

My Experience with Simple Water Boost Hydrating Gel Cream

My Skin Type: Normal to Combination Skin with occasional dryness. Sensitive and acne-prone skin.

I started using the cream day and night after my face wash. I either use my Simple Refreshing Face Wash or my Neutrogena Deep Clean Face Wash depending on my mood and preference.

Then, I follow up with my Vitamin C serum during the day time or my Glycolic acid toner in the nighttime.

I take a pea-sized amount of the moisturizer and dot it all over my face followed by light and gentle circular motions. If I am using it in the daytime, I follow up with my sunscreen.

The texture and consistency of Simple hydrating gel cream are exactly how you would expect when you see the word “crème”. It is not thick or creamy. This moisturizer has a gel-based hazy look which felt so lightweight upon the application.

It did not leave my hands or face sticky, sweaty, or heavy after the application.

I honestly, did not know that the tube says “for dry skin” because the consistency looks like a moisturizer made for oily skin.

I was surprised to see the simple hydrating gel cream working for me because there was a time when my skin felt dehydrated even after moisturizers like Cetaphil cream or Bioderma Atoderm (due to eczema) and I thought this was how my skin was going to be from now on.

Luckily, my skin is so much healed now that a lightweight gel-based moisturizer is working so good for my skin. I do not feel my skin dry even after hours.

Not for Oily Skin

Now, the Simple Water Boost hydrating gel cream can be a bit too much for people with oily skin, especially during the Indian Summers. It is 49 C degrees here in India so you can imagine. Not that the texture is heavy but the cream is really good when it comes to hydration at deeper levels so I would say go for the Simple gel moisturizer only if you have normal to dry skin.

Simple water boost hydrating gel cream claims to provide 100-hr moisturization. I, of course, won’t be wearing the moisturizer for 100 hours but I can confirm that my skin stayed hydrated throughout the day and even in the morning. I did not experience any sign of dryness in the morning after waking up.

Skin Looked Healthy and Plump

Within a few days of using Simple hydrating gel moisturizer, my skin started looking super nourished, healthy, and plump.

At this point, during the day, I wash my face and use sunscreen and I am done. I feel the Simple Gel moisturizer has genuinely healed the dryness from deep within plus the hot weather so even if I skip my moisturizer, my skin doesn’t feel dry at all.

If you have normal, dry, or dehydrated skin due to weather changes, Simple Water Boost hydrating gel cream is going to be a really great option for you.

As far as my sensitive and acne-prone skin goes, I did not experience breakouts or clogged pores with Simple hydrating gel cream.

If you have oily skin, rather go for Simple Liquid Moisturizer which is their oily-skin variant.

I wore Simple Water Boost hydrating gel cream under my makeup, before heading out, and before gym, and whether I was working out or roaming under the sun, I did not experience greasiness or heaviness on my face. Of course, sweating was there.

This gel-based cream not only hydrated my skin upon application but healed the dehydration from deep within with regular usage.

Is simple water boost hydrating gel cream good for oily skin?

It can be used on oily skin as it won’t clog your pores or lead to breakouts but I will not recommend it to those who are living under and hot and humid climate. If you stay in cold regions, this will work for you.

Is simple hydrating gel cream good for acne?

Definitely! It won’t heal them but I did not experience any breakouts and neither my existing ones were triggered.
