Review – Kay Beauty Foundation 110 Light (Swatches Inside)

Kay Beauty Foundation Review – I have been procrastinating on this review for so long. I have almost finished my bottle of foundation and I told myself I would be writing a review on Kay Beauty foundation before I write any other product review.

Kay Beauty Foundation Review 110 Light

I bought Kay Beauty Hydrating Foundation way back in the shade 110 light. The reason I went with a hydrating foundation is because, in recent years, my skin has gone through a lot resulting in dryness. Now even though my skin is so much healed, I feel hydrating foundations are way better for my skin as compared to matte ones.

On top of that, I have always liked the finish of dewy foundations on my skin.

If you have been looking for Kay Beauty Foundation Review and Swatch in the shade 110 light, you are on the right page. I will be sharing some pictures of the makeup looks I created with Kay Beauty Hydrating Foundation.

Review – Kay Beauty Hydrating Foundation

My Skin Type: I have sensitive and acne-prone skin with normal to dry skin type.

My M.A.C. Shade – NC25

Kay Beauty Hydrating Foundation Shade – 110 Light. Though I feel it is a tad bit dark for me, but, it is doable. It has neutral-cool tones so it settles in gracefully. I sometimes mix a drop of Faces 3 in 1 Foundation with 1 Pump of Kay Beauty Foundation and it does the job. The Faces 3 in 1 Foundation is a bit lighter for me so mixing both creates an ideal match for me.

Packaging

It comes in a glass bottle with a pump nozzle secured with a large cap. The nozzle works absolutely fine causing no mess and dispenses the right amount of product. I have carried it with me to so many places and it is completely travel-friendly.

Fragrance

None as such. Just a mild foundation-like makeup-y scent if that makes sense. Nothing too strong.

My Experience with Kay Beauty Foundation

I like my foundation with a medium coverage giving a natural look. I started by taking only a pump because I wanted to see how much one pump can do and how is the coverage.

I dotted the foundation all over my face and blended it with a flat-top brush. Depending on my mood I either use a foundation brush or a beauty sponge.

The texture and consistency felt smooth and easy to blend. It didn’t leave any patchiness or hard strokes behind. It is neither too thick nor too liquid. It has a soft creamy consistency which is ideal for my skin type or anyone who has dry skin.

The texture is so soft and smooth that I was able to blend it with my fingers and it didn’t leave any patches behind.

Only one pump did its job and it gave me a decent medium coverage. It gave me a beautiful dewy even looking base.

The foundation did not entirely cover the acne marks and for that, I went ahead with Kay Beauty HD Liquid Concealer in 120P light and it did a great job of hiding the redness of active acne and leftover marks of healed acne.

To me, the soft and smooth texture, consistency, medium coverage, and natural-glowy finish were completely perfect but if you are someone who loves full coverage foundation, this might not be your option.

I tried building up the coverage with a second pump and it did not result in heaviness at all. It did add some more finish and coverage but it still wasn’t enough to cover marks.

I wore the foundation in the morning before heading out and it stayed till evening. I did set my foundation with my M.A.C compact though. I did not experience the foundation coming off due to sweat or transferring due to heat.

For oily skin, Kay Beauty Hydrating Foundation might not serve all year round. It is not heavy but won’t feel that comfortable in the hot and humid season.

Taling about how it worked for my sensitive skin – Luckily, Kay Beauty Foundation did not result in breakouts or clogged pores and worked great for my sensitive and acne-prone skin.

Did it Oxidized?

In my case, it did not, and as per online Nykaa Reviews, people did not experience oxidization either.

It usually happens when the shade and formulation are not suitable for your skin type and the ingredients react with your skin’s natural oil.

Prep your skin well with the right skincare routine, use a primer if you are planning to have foundation on throughout the day, and finally set it with the powder. Though it depends a lot on your foundation, prepping your skin helps prevent oxidization in most cases.

After Faces Canada and Colorbar Foundation, Kay Beauty Foundation definitely made it to my list of favorites. I am simply in love (and no, I am not exaggerating) with the smooth texture, ease of bendability, and natural glowy finish.

If you have normal to dry, sensitive, and acne-prone skin and you love your foundations with medium coverage and glowy finish, then Kay Beauty Foundation is the one.

I have used the foundation daily and occasionally and it did not disappoint me at all. It doesn’t feel heavy or greasy and does not make my skin look oily.
