Website Accessibility Statement

The Pink Velvet Blog is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. I continue to make changes to improve the user experience for everyone and apply the relevant accessibility standards.

Conformance status

The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) defines requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. It describes three levels of conformance: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA.

Wherever possible, The Pink Velvet Blog will aim to adhere to level AA of the WCAG 2.1 guidelines, which states that sites should be:

  • Perceivable – Information and user interface components must be presentable to users in ways they can perceive.
  • Operable – User interface components and navigation must be operable.
  • Understandable – Information and the operation of the user interface must be understandable.
  • Robust – Content must be robust enough that it can be interpreted reliably by a wide variety of user agents, including assistive technologies.

Website Theme

The Pink Velvet Blog is running on Kadence theme.

Kadence theme follows accessibility standards and provides the needed markup for my site to be accessible for screen readers with the best possible ease.

They follow WCAG 2.0 standards use, Keyboard Navigation, Aria labels, and Focus control to ensure accessibility.

Accessibility Monitoring

I constantly use tools like WAVE Report and Google PageSpeed Insights to monitor accessibility on The Pink Velvet Blog and make changes accordingly.

Disclaimer

As part of my efforts to achieve WCAG 2.1 AA compliance at The Pink Velvet Blog, I continue to constantly improve the accessibility of the site in the belief that it is a collective moral obligation to allow seamless, accessible, and unhindered use also for those of us with disabilities.

Despite the efforts to make all pages and content on thepinkvelvetblog.com fully accessible, some content may not have yet been fully adapted to the strictest accessibility standards. With the advancements in theme and technologies, this will be improved too.
