REVIEW: My Take on Dromen and Co Moisturizer

In this article, I will be sharing my complete product review of Dromen & Co Manuka Honey and Yoghurt serum moisturizer. I tried this moisturizer on my combination and sensitive skin and here is how it went.

I had no idea about the Brand Dromen & Co until one day I was scrolling Nykaa for some facial oil options for my oily-dehydrated skin and spotted one from Dromen & Co.

The Brand’s overall identity revolving around Apothecary and being free from toxins made me want to give it a try.

I further explored the Brand and its products and this manuka honey moisturizer caught my attention so I decided to go ahead with their moisturizer and facial oil.

What Do I like about this moisturizer?

It is deeply nourishing with a lightweight texture. Helps with dryness. True to the claims of working on fine lines and adding a glow. I noticed a visible improvement in skin texture and appearance. My face looked a lot more glowy and supple. It doesn’t make my face look oily and shiny.

What I Don’t like about this moisturizer?

I face heavy sweating upon application for some time. It resulted in acne when I used it with Dromen and Co Facial Oil. I did not notice any reduction in acne inflammation or marks as claimed by the Brand.

🤓 Reason for my 4/5 rating

I liked the overall outcome of the moisturizer. I love it when I wake up to hydrated and glowy skin. This moisturizer doesn’t exactly result in acne or feel heavy because of the formulation but the fact that it is a rich moisturizer and I used it in the humid-sweaty season on my oily skin along with the facial oil, resulted in breakouts. For my oily skin, it works best when I use it at night. For dry skin or dry season, it is a 10/10.

Dromen and Co Moisturizer Ingredients

Aqua, Glycerine, Ammonium Acryloyldimethyltaurate/VP Copolymer, Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Sodium Hyaluronate, Cetostearyl Alcohol, Glycerol Monostearate, Isoamyl Laurate, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond) Oil, Ethylhexyl Olivate, Coco Caprylate, Myristyl Myristate, Sodium Gluconate, Isopropyl Myristate, Sodium Benzoate, Potassium Sorbate Honey, Yogurt Extract, Fragrance.

Why exactly the two key ingredients – honey and yogurt are last in the ingredient list? That’s suspicious.

How to Use

• Cleanse your face and apply a toner.

Packaging

It comes in a glass jar with a screw lid. Definitely luxurious looking. I found the jar is easy to use, store, and carry though lately I have been feeling that pump dispensers are more hygienic – in my opinion.

Fragrance

It has a bathing soap sort of scent. A mix of floral and perfume. I wasn’t bothered by the fragrance but my Mother did not find it appealing.

My Experience with Dromen and Co Manuka Honey Moisturizer

My Skin Type: Combination to oily, sensitive, and acne-prone skin with a history of eczema and allergies.

What attracted me the most towards this moisturizer was the claim made by the Brand i.e., reduces acne-driven inflammation and heals pimple scars. That is a bold claim, to be honest.

I had dehydrated skin at the moment so I wanted something that is hydrating yet lightweight to work on an oily-skin base.

Dehydrated skin is different from dry skin. Dehydration occurs as a result either due to allergies or lack of water content and is often faced by oily skin.

Dry skin on the other hand is a skin type and the dryness remains throughout the year.

I started using the moisturizer day and night followed by their facial oil. I used the facial oil in my nighttime routine only for gua-sha massage.

Sooner, as my allergies got better, my dehydrated skin was not dehydrated anymore and it slowly transitioned back into oily-combination skin.

Makes my skin sweaty

The texture of the cream is no doubt lightweight and it was easy to massage on the skin. I did not find the moisturizer to be on the heavier side but I do feel because of its rich moisturizing properties, I faced heavy sweating right after application, especially in this warm season.

It is definitely not ideal for oily skin in the summer season.

The sweaty feeling disappears in minutes and does not result in a heavy or greasy feeling. It doesn’t make me feel uncomfortable like Nivea sunscreen which is why I am continuing with the moisturizer.

Initially, this resulted in breakouts

I continued my routine of moisturizer + facial oil for a week and suddenly I noticed my face was full of clogged pores. Sooner, my entire face was full of red painful cystic acne.

I thought maybe the combination was not working for my skin, especially in the hot and humid season.

So I stopped pairing up the Dromen & Co facial oil with this moisturizer. In fact, I did not touch the facial oil at all.

Ideal for night-time routine (for oily skin)

I continued the moisturizer alone and luckily, my acne-flare ups calmed down. Not sure if it was the combination of the moisturizer and facial oil, the oil in itself, or the fact that I was using two highly nourishing products in the humid season.

I started using the moisturizer in my night-time only and also reduced the quantity of the product I was using. Instead of taking a decent amount, I took half a pea-sized amount and to be honest, it was more than enough for my skin, especially in the hot season.

When I used the moisturizer in the daytime, my face looked sweaty more than usual.

Skin looked a lot more firm, healthy, and glowy

With regular usage, I noticed that my skin is looking a lot more firm and glowy. I could definitely notice the difference. The appearance of my facial skin looked a lot more supple and healthy.

No doubt, the Dromen and Co face moisturizer worked 10/10 in terms of deeply nourishing, adding a glow, and working on fine lines. Three of the Brand’s claims.

As far as working on the acne-inflammation and pimple scars goes, I did not notice much results in terms of that. Due to heat and sweat, I often face acne issues in the Summer season which is why I switch to Neutrogena acne wash in the sweaty season but as far as the moisturizer goes, I did not notice any contribution in reducing the acne marks.

For marks, I stick to Vitamin C serum and that works beautifully for me. I recently started using one from Biotique and surprisingly, it is working great as well. That Vitamin C serum is actually helping with the acne scars.

Now, I use the Dromen & Co face moisturizer in my nighttime skincare routine in a very tiny amount followed by my UV Doux sunscreen.

Precautions with Dromen and Co Moisturizer

As per my experience, If you want to use Dromen and Co Manuka Honey moisturizer, do not pair this with any other hydrating product else you will end up with clogged pores and acne just like me especially if you have combination or oily skin and are considering this moisturizer for the summer season.

This moisturizer in itself is deeply nourishing so it is best to use it alone without pairing it up with a hydrating toner or a facial oil. Use it at night-time in a very tiny amount.

For dry skin, I think the moisturizer will do really well.

Dromen and Co Moisturizer: Final Thoughts

Dromen and Co moisturizer worked great for me in terms of nourishing and improving the texture. My skin noticeably looked glowy, supple, and a lot more firm. It looked like it worked on fine lines with the improved appearance. It is deeply nourishing so I also face a lot of sweating after application. For my combination-oily skin, it works better if I use it alone at night time only. It did not do anything for acne marks though.
