I was casually looking for something new for my skincare routine and because it is so hot and humid in here I thought why not try a new face wash. While scrolling on Nykaa I saw Lotus Professional Phyto Rx Deep Pore Cleansing Face Wash and I was like, yeah okay! Let’s give this one a go.

Review – Lotus Professional Phyto Rx Deep Pore Cleansing Face Wash

My Skin Type – Combination to Oily in Summers, Dry in Winters, Sensitive, and Acne-Prone Skin

Packaging- It comes in a opaque olive green coloured squeezable tube with a flip-flop cap. The cap closes securely but still I feel this might not be completely travel-friendly. To be on the safer side, make sure you keep it in a separate pouch.

It has got all the information required from expiry date to Ingredients.

Fragrance: It has got a really nice modern-herbal kind of fragrance. I mean it is slightly on a stronger side which also feels a bit medicated but still, it is good.

My Experience

Now, honestly, after seeing all the product information and reviews online which says it can be super drying and stuff, I was expecting it to be a foamy cleanser. But, turns out, it is a gel-based cleanser with soft and mild green beads in it and I was totally not looking for a gel-based cleanser.

To me, the only gel-based cleanser which works like a dream is the Forest Essentials Kashmiri Saffron and Neem Cleanser. But this time, I was really looking for a foamy strong deep cleanser.

I started by taking a coin sized amount and lathered it well all over my face. It actually lathers well.

Now usually, gel cleansers leave this soft slippery layer behind which I don’t find satisfying. I was expecting the same with this Lotus Professional Phyto Rx Deep Pore Cleansing Face Wash and so it happened. It left a slippery layer on my face while washing it off!

Even after the wash, I didn’t felt that squeaky clean feeling I was expecting. I mean yes my face was clean, free from sweat and oil but it was not what I was looking for.

I was really turned off by this and I literally didn’t used it for fays.

During summers when I am all sweaty I really enjoy something like Margo Neem Soap or The Face Shop Pore Cleansing Foam. I personally don’t feel like reaching out to soft gel-based cleansers when I am all oily and sweaty. The only gel-based cleanser I use is Forest Essentials Kashmiri Saffron and Neem Cleanser all because of the exceptional mood-lifting luxurious aroma. It totally calms my mind and its worth it.

I didn’t want to waste my money hence I started using the Lotus Professional Phyto Rx Deep Pore Cleansing Face Wash again and a few days later, I noticed it is actually doing a good job in deep cleansing.

I mean my pores looked clean which gave a clean look overall. There was not much of a problem of clogging of pores hence reducing the occurrence of pimples. Of course, there were few because of heat and hormones but yeah Lotus Professional Phyto Rx Deep Pore Cleansing Face Wash did a nice job in deep cleansing the pores.

In case you are wondering if the beads are hard and poky then no, no they are not. They are really mild and dissolves upon massaging.

My skin actually looked clean and I started liking it. Not that I love it because it leaves that slippery layer but it worked in terms of deep cleansing so yeah, considerable option.

I still don’t feel like buying it again or adding it top on my list because I am more of a strong face wash kind of person but it is totally a personal choice. If you are someone who loves gel-based deep cleansers, you can go for Lotus Professional Phyto Rx Deep Pore Cleansing Face Wash.

This might feel good to me during winters when my skin is all super dry but now, during summers, Nah! Not much of a favorite.

I really enjoy the cleansing step in my routine. The texture, fragrance, feel, everything is important to refresh the mind and to feel good and that is why, even though Lotus Professional Phyto Rx Deep Pore Cleansing Face Wash works great in terms of cleansing, I am not much of fan because of that slippery layer it leaves behind.

Lotus Professional Phyto Rx Deep Pore Cleansing Face Wash is a gel-based cleanser with soft green beads in it. It does deep cleanses bringing out the clear and clean skin but it also leaves the soft slippery layer behind after washing off which I do not find satisfying. It lathers up really good, deep cleanses the pores, removes excess oil and dirt, but leaves that soapy layer behind. Does not lead to breakouts and suitable for sensitive and acne-prone skin.
