Bioderma Atoderm Ultra Nourishing Cream Review

Bioderma Atoderm Creme was suggested to me by my doctor when my eczema flared up so bad that I was in pain because of all the redness and peeling of the skin. He prescribed me Efatop Next Lotion but also recommended me Bioderma Atoderm Moisturizer after I finished my Efatop.
I have been using Atoderm Moisturizer for a while now and I am all set to share my views on the same. So if you have been looking for Bioderma Atoderm Creme Review, you are on the right page.

Review – Bioderma Atoderm Creme

My Skin Type: Used to be Combination-Oily in Summer but as of now, it is Dry throughout the year due to Eczema and allergies.
Packaging: It comes in a squeezable tube with a flip-flop cap. Not completely see-through but gives an idea of the product left. The cap on the other hand isn’t very quality-like. It is a bit hard to open the flap and feels a little flimsy considering what I paid.
My Personal Favourites

Fragrance: None as such
My Experience
I started using the Bioderma Atoderm cream when my Efatop was almost over and my eczema condition was 80% healed. I was left with this dehydrated skin, dryness, and occasional itching.
I started by taking a decent amount and gently massaging it all over the face. The texture for sure felt like a creme and despite being intense, it wasn’t a thick textured like Cetaphil moisturizing cream.
It immediately provided relief to dryness and stretchy feeling and the texture was easy to massage in as well. But, for some reason, I felt like something was missing.
I used the moisturizer daily day and night and what I liked was that this moisturizer stays in for a long time. My skin didn’t feel the need to re-apply during the day.
But, I couldn’t ignore the fact that even after my skin was dry, I felt this sweaty and oily feeling with this moisturizer during the day. It also leaves a shine on my face which looked good though on the cheeks but not so much on the forehead and everywhere.

I also noticed that this moisturizer kind of stays on my skin. It makes me feel like I have something on my face rather than feeling nourished from deep within. Even with rich moisturizers like Cetaphil or Aveeno, I didn’t feel like there was a layer on my face nor there was a sweaty feeling. In fact, my skin felt moisturized without any shine or oily look. But with Atoderm, it was more like it sat on top rather than working on the dryness from within.
But, the story completely changed when my eczema dryness was completely healed and I used Bioderma Atoderm on my normal to dry skin. I realized it is working better than any moisturizer and I am actually about to finish mine. It is moisturizing my skin and I am not facing any oily-shine I faced before. It might not have worked when my skin was facing allergies but at the moment, I think I love it and I considering buying it again.
This wasn’t the case with my Mother. She has dry skin as a skin type and she loved using it. It worked and felt great against her skin and she uses Atoderm daily.
I feel if you have dry skin with no skin concerns, this works great for you as I have heard a lot of positive reviews from my friends but for me, my dryness is a result of eczema and allergies and I need something that goes deep down the skin without making my skin feel sweaty.
As my skin healed, its texture felt super hydrating and nourishing. On the days when I am not having an eczema flare-up, Bioderma Atoderm feels really good on my dry skin. But when my skin is triggered with active redness, itchiness, and rashes, I do need something more than Atoderm.
Bioderma Atoderm is great for people with dryness as a skin type. But if you have dryness as a skin condition due to allergies then this might not deliver the best results.
I feel Bioderma Atoderm moisturizer is a great option to consider for a dry skin person or in winter in general but if you have atopic skin, this might not be what your skin needs. And definitely, it’s not an option for oily skin.
The great thing about Atoderm creme is, it suits my sensitive skin and causes no breakouts. Sensitive and acne-prone skin can be considered without any doubt.
Wrapping Up
Bioderma Atoderm Cream is an everyday intense moisturizer ideal for people with dryness as a skin type. It works great when my skin is not facing allergic dryness but when flare-ups or dry patches do occur due to allergies, I need something more than that, something that goes deep within. The texture felt soft and smooth against the skin and immediately provided relief to the dryness. It works great for normal-to-dry skin but is not the best option for severe dryness due to allergies. It works great for me when my skin is healed and I don’t have an active flare-up.
