Cetaphil Oily Skin Cleanser for Acne-Prone Skin Review

During my recent visit to a local pharmacy, I saw this Cetaphil Oily Skin Cleanser and I immediately decided to buy it because first, it is for my skin type that is sensitive and acne-prone, plus, it was specially made for oily skin.

The Brand, Cetaphil, is trusted by many people having sensitive and problematic skin. Cetaphil is one such brand that targets its products for sensitive skin. Their products are non-comedogenic, hypoallergenic, non-irritating, and are also recommended by skin doctors.

Their gentle skin cleanser is loved by many as it does not irritate problematic skin. I have been putting this to use for a long time and I am all set to share my experience on Cetaphil Oily Skin Cleanser with you all.

Review – Cetaphil Oily Skin Cleanser for Acne-Prone Skin

My Skin Type – Combination to Oily, Sensitive, and Acne-Prone Skin.

Packaging- It comes in a standard Cetaphil packaging, that is, a squeezable bottle with a flip-flop cap, having a nozzle to dispense the product. The cap is tight enough but I can’t really say about the packaging being travel-friendly because the product is of runny consistency and you never know!

Fragrance- I really the fragrance of it. It is somewhat medicated but in a very pleasant way. Not at all bothering.

My Experience

Because their gentle cleanser was way too mild for my personal liking, I expected this oily skin cleanser to be a little more strong than that. But this is again is a mild cleanser.

Cetaphil Oily Skin Cleanser for Acne-Prone Skin Review

Ideally, this is the kind of cleansers we oily skin people should be using because do not strip the natural oils and also do not irritate the skin.

But, here in Delhi/NCR, summers are extremely hot, humid, and there is pollution and smoke throughout the year. By using mild cleansers, my skin turns oily, sweaty, and greasy in a few hours which I do not want. That is the reason I prefer a deep cleansing face wash for my oily skin.

Yes, such deep cleansers leave skin slightly dry but to be honest, this is what I personally find satisfying and these deep cleansers only work really the best for me.

With mild cleansers, I always feel there is a soapy layer left behind and same I felt with this Cetaphil oily skin cleanser.

This cleanser is runny in consistency and does not form any lather. It does cleanse but leaves a layer of moisture behind. Even though this is what they claim, that is, “non-drying” but for me, this isn’t the most satisfying feeling after using a cleanser. It feels like there is a soapy layer behind which is really uncomfortable.

True to the claims of being non-irritating, it didn’t irritate my skin any further but at the same time, I didn’t notice any results on my existing acne. To treat my acne and prevent my skin from further developing painful pimples, I love my Neutrogena Deep Clean Face Wash paired with Minimalist Serums.

Within a few hours of washing my face with the Cetaphil Oily Skin Cleanser, my face turned oily, dull, and greasy and I had to wash my face at a very short interval.

I feel this cleanser too mild for us who live in extremely hot and humid places with a high level of pollution.

If you are someone who personally likes mild cleanser, then this will be an ideal fit for you. I feel, for me, this will work better during winter days or when my skin feels slightly dry and flaky.

Summing Up

Cetaphil Oily Skin Cleanser is a mild everyday cleanser with non-drying and non-irritating properties. It doesn’t irritate the skin further and is suitable for problematic skin but also doesn’t work on existing pimples or clogged pores. I personally do not like mild cleansers hence I didn’t find it much satisfying. It does cleanse but leaves a layer of moisture behind which I don’t find satisfying and I think it will work during winter days or for dry skin people only.

Pros
  • Suitable for Sensitive and Problematic Skin
  • Does not irritate the skin
  • Cleanses well
  • Has a mild fragrance
  • Non-Comedogenic
  • If you love mild cleansers, you will love it.
  • Moisturizing (For those who avoid strong drying cleansers)
Cons
  • Too mild for my liking
  • Doesn’t do anything to get rid of clogged pores
  • Too mild for people living in humid and polluted cities
  • Leaves a layer of moisture behind which I personally do not find satisfying

So this was it for today. I hope you have found Cetaphil Oily Skin Cleanser for Acne-Prone Skin Review helpful.
