My Experience –
I have been using colored eyeliners from a long time but only in the pencil form. This is the first time I tried gel eyeliners in a pot form.
The only eyeliner I tried in a pot form was the Maybelline Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner years back. Initially, it was all great and smooth but later, it turned into solid rock. Even after adding a few drops of almond oil or even heating it, it didn’t perform well. Hence, I thought pot liners will behave like this and will get dry over time.
When I first tried the SUGAR Born to Wing Gel Eyeliner, I was really impressed by the smooth formulation. It as per the claims actually glided onto the skin easily.
Because it went smooth on the eyelids, it was easy to draw wings and fill in without much of a hassle.
Talking about the pigmentation, it is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G. Literally, in the first go, there was a smooth pigmented strike on the eyes. Later, I dipped in more to enhance the shape make it more intense.
I also used the same on my lower lash line as well and it was okay. Not as smooth as they were on the eyelid. I will say the pencil liners perform much better on the lower lash line.
The staying power is appreciable. It lasted for good 4-5 hours without smudging or fading. After 5 hours, I was back home and removed it. Hence, I couldn’t notice how long they can actually last but I am pretty sure they have a high staying power.
Most of the time, eyeliners work awesome on the bare lid but doesn’t show up when using on eyeshadows but the SUGAR Born to Wing Gel Eyeliner works amazingly with eyeshadows as well. They glide on the eyeshadows easily without compromising with the pigmentation.
Coming to the in-built brush, I really like the concept. This way, each color has it’s own brush and you don’t need to worry about cleaning the brush every time to use different colors. This way, they are travel-friendly as well.
The brush has a flat and slightly point-ly curved tip which makes it easy to draw the wing and fill in as well. I am totally Impressed.
One thing which I like to mention here is, once the brush is used, it gets a bit tacky hence every time you use it, wipe-off the tip so that the brush tip can regain its softness.
Even after the regular usage, it didn’t notice the pots getting dry or the eyeliner is turning into rock. They are as soft, smooth, and pigmented as they were when I first opened them.
Overall I am really impressed by the quality and packaging. I can totally recommend them if you will ask me for the suggestions of good colored eyeliners.
