The Ordinary Multi-Peptide Serum for Hair Density Review

The Ordinary Multi-Peptide Serum for Hair Density is one of the most preferred hair growth serum especially when we take into the Ingredient Redensyl into the consideration.
I heard so much about hair growth serums and never really believed in them until I got to know science behind that is the ingredients that work majorly in action which are redensyl and minoxidil.
Redensyl is a safer variant while the other must be incorporated with precaution. I will discuss about this later in the article.
While scrolling through The Ordinary products at Nykaa, The Ordinary Multi-Peptide Serum for Hair Density caught my attention and after scrolling through some of the customer reviews, I decided to go for it.
I have recently started focusing on my hair care. Luckily, I have been blessed with healthy hair. Weekly oiling with Coconut Oil was my only hair care routine.
But, lately, I have been noticing my scalp and hair health is not up to the mark and I decided it’s time to focus on hair health now.
The Ordinary Hair Serum Review in a Glance
The Ordinary Hair Growth serum worked great for me. I noticed increased hair density and little baby hair growing soon after usage. It contains Redensyl and not Minoxidil so it is safer for me. But don’t make the mistake of using Vitamin C or Retinol on face at the same time. I did and faced the consequences (allergies).

My Experience with The Ordinary Multi Peptide Hair Serum
Redensyl vs Minoxidil – A quick comparison
I honestly wasn’t much aware of the term Redensyl so when I told about this product to my brother, he mentioned that it might be Redensyl which is used in hair growth products but once you stop using them, it might create double the amount of hair fall.
| Redensyl | Minoxidil |
|---|---|
| Hair growth ingredient | Medication |
| Stimulates hair follicle stem cells | Dilates blood vessels to increase hair follicle blood flow |
| Effective for early stages of hair loss | Proven effective for treating androgenic alopecia (male and female pattern baldness) |
| Generally considered safe with minimal side effects | Can cause scalp irritation, unwanted hair growth, dizziness, rapid heartbeat |
| Considered safer due to natural ingredients | Requires medical supervision due to potential side effects |
| Over-the-counter in hair care products | Available by prescription or over-the-counter in some countries |
| Generally more affordable | Can be more expensive |
| No known long-term side effects | Requires continued use to maintain result |
I was obviously scared and so we both further researched. Upon going through many articles and testimonials, I learned that Redensyl is more plant-based and a safer ingredient.
It still can cause allergies and some hair fall but unlike Minoxidil, it won’t severely react when put to stop.
It’s Minoxidil which is stronger and can lead to severe hair fall if stopped using. It must be used by following proper treatment.

Plus, when I shared about The Ordinary Multi-Peptide Serum for Hair Density on my Instagram, a friend of mine responded that Redensyl is safe and generally has no side effects. Relieved!
Water like texture
I started using The Ordinary Redensyl hair serum the same day I received it. Before going to bed, I poured a few drops onto my scalp and massaged it well.
It has a completely water-like texture which makes it easy to spread through the scalp.
I then further massage my scalp with my wooden comb.

Doesn’t result in oily looking hair
I had my doubts that after application, my hair would feel sticky or oily or something like that.
I mean I applied something to my hair, on the scalp to be precise, and it isn’t going to look fresh out of the shower.
To my surprise, it didn’t really result in a greasy look. I mean my hair wasn’t looking exactly blow-dried but it wasn’t that bad. I combed my hair the next morning with my paddle brush and it was all good.
Else you are using it everyday…
But, using The Ordinary Multi-Peptide Serum for Hair Density every day for 3-4 days straight definitely resulted “oiled hair” kind of look.
Since then I have been using this Redensyl serum a day before my shampoo and it’s been working really good. I pair it up with L’Oreal leave-in night hair cream for added benefits.
The next morning, I always oil my hair, let it sit for about 2 hours, and then go for a shower.
The Product WORKS!!
Since then I have been following the same routine and now I have almost finished bottled. Without any doubt, I can definitely say, IT WORKS! My hair is now visibly denser, fuller, and thicker. I mostly used the serum on the front and it’s visibly fuller now. I can even see small tiny hair growing.
Touchwood, this is the first time I ever invested in a hair serum and it worked. From scalp to strands, my hair definitely feels and looks fuller and denser to me.
I remember my crown area started to look thinner and lacked density which is the main reason my concern for hair care started and I am glad this Ordinary hair serum provided me with the desired results.
The serum did not result in any allergies or reactions on my scalp. I did face an initial mild level itch though but it only lasted the first few times.
Do not make the mistake I made
The one major mistake I made was I used Retinol at the same time I had The Ordinary Multi-Peptide Serum for Hair Density on my scalp which unfortunately resulted in such a bad reaction.
Not a side effect but a precaution to avoid consequences.
The sides of my forehead developed this extreme redness and a dry patch which was really painful. Later, I read on the official website to not use any active or Vitamin-C with this Hair Serum on.

That redness further converted into dry patches, burning, itchy, and scaly skin. And the problem further got worse resulting in swollen areas around the eyes.
After several experiments, I am sure it reacted to the retinol I had on my face. So it is best not to use anything on the face except for moisturizer the night you plan to use Multi-Peptide hair serum.
The Ordinary Multi-Peptide Hair Serum Review: Final Thoughts
The Ordinary Multi-Peptide Serum for Hair Density definitely worked. After months of usage, I have seen visible results. My hair feels and looks fuller, denser, and healthier. There is visible hair growth and I can see tiny strands of new hair. It did what it claimed to do but I did face dry patches and rashes on the side of my forehead and around the eyes because it reacted with Retinol which I applied on my face. I didn’t face any allergies on the scalp.
Pros
- Results in Visible Hair Growth
- Hair looks fuller and denser
- Improved Hair Health
- Noticed tiny new strands of hair on the forehead
- Easy to Use
- Faced no allergy on the scalp
Cons
- Reacts easily with the face serum if any resulting in itchiness and redness on the forehead.
This was it for today. I hope you have found my experience and review of The Ordinary Multi-Peptide Serum for Hair Density helpful. Let me know your thoughts in the comments below.

I observed puffiness of the face and eyes the next day of usage.
Oh! It might be reacting.
Can I use this serum on keratine treated hair
Hi, I am not really sure about how this will go on keratin treated hair?
Have you stopped using this serum? Did you witness hairfall like you mentioned in the blog?
Do you have any discount code? 🙂
Hi,
No, I didn’t experience any hair fall after stopping the serum. I do not have any discount code at the moment 🙂
thanks.. have you used bare anatomy hair growth serum. it too has Redensyl as an ingredient. I tried regularly finished one bottle, not sure if I can continue the same and persist or switch to The Ordinary. Maybe for some results might take a little longer to show? Also what is the best way to test the results?
Hi, thank you for reading the article 🙂 I haven’t tried Bare anatomy hair growth serum at the moment. If the results seems to be positive with no negative affects such as there is no roughness or dryness with constant use or itching of the scalp, then I believe you can continue to use the one you are using. As far as testing the result goes, with the time frame of 45 days, the crown area starts to look a lot more dense and volumised, new baby hair with a noticeable density, and the overall hair length in general 🙂
