WishCare Hair Growth Serum Review – Works but at a Cost!

Wishcare Hair Growth Serum is the first product that I am trying from the Brand WishCare. I don’t know why but my gut feeling has always pushed me to stay away from Brands like Wishcare, Wow, and Mamaearth.

Wishcare Hair Growth Serum Review

This hair growth serum in particular started to make waves and got so popular in a very short period of time, thanks to social media.

If anyone’s curious, all my beauty purchases are from Nykaa.

I received this Wishcare hair serum as a part of PR from Nykaa so I decided why not to share my experience on my blog if someone is looking for a genuine review on this serum, my article will be of help to them because let’s be honest, those Nykaa and Amazon customer reviews are not genuine.

Sorry to burst your bubble but most of the e-commerce reviews are fake, copy-pasted, generated by AI, and published on the same day.

My Personal Favourites

Niharika X Nykaa

The majority of them are in exchange for the product or a small amount of money, but, this is not where things go wrong. The reviews in return are fake positive reviews, fake 5-star ratings, and that is where it goes all wrong.

I don’t how people agree to post a fake 5-star review in exchange for the product. How does even their gut allow it?!

Anyways! Coming to the product and my experience with it, in this article, I will be sharing my thoughts and opinion in detail, what worked, and what didn’t work with this Wishcare hair growth serum.

The serum does work in terms of hair growth, no doubt. I noticed tiny baby hair at a faster rate but, and a visible increase in hair density. My hair looked a lot more dense and voluminous over the period of months but, it made my hair look rough and dry, a lot less healthy. The appearance of my hair looked luster-less and unruly.

What do I like about this serum?

The serum works and does promote hair growth after a few weeks of usage and I did not experience any major itching or reaction.

What I don’t like about this serum?

The very first thing I don’t like about this serum is the fake, edited/photoshopped images of before and after results on the Brand’s website. One could easily tell those are edited ones and hair is deliberately sectioned in order to show scalp.

Secondly, the serum results in an increase in hair fall when used on a regular basis plus, it makes hair look oily the next day so isn’t suitable to use on a regular basis as the Brand suggested. Although, hair fall comes with Redensyl and Minoxidil so I am not putting that blame on the product. It’s how they work.

The texture and look of my hair became a lot more rough, dry, and weak after I started using the serum.

My Experience with WishCare Hair Growth Serum Concentrate

My Hair Type: Oily scalp with dry hair. Scalp gets sweaty easily.

I started using the serum as suggested by the Brand i.e., daily at night. I sprayed a few pumps onto the scalp, a few at the center, and a few on both sides, and massaged thoroughly.

The look and consistency of the serum are hazy and not completely water-like as compared to The Ordinary Multi-peptide hair serum. It looks like a blend of water and oil-based something.

It does give an impression of wet hair after application so it is ideal to use it at night only.

Not ideal to use on a daily basis

After using it regularly for days at night, I noticed that my crown area was looking a bit oily and demanding a hair wash so I stopped using the serum every day and used it only a night before the hair wash.

Another reason why I stopped using it on a regular basis is that I noticed an increase in hair fall. Now hair growth ingredients such as Redensyl or Minoxidil do shed hair initially before they reset your hair growth pattern so I wasn’t entirely sure if it is the Redensyl or the serum at fault because Minoxidil is more likely to shed your hair as compared to Redensyl.

I do remember that I did not experience the initial hair fall when I used The Ordinary Hair Growth Serum, so… 🤷🏻‍♀️

No reduction in hair fall as claimed

After I stopped using it daily and used it once or twice a week, the hair fall that increased after using the serum daily as I shared above was definitely reduced but I did not notice any reduction in hair fall as such as claimed by the Brand.

Right after application, I do feel mild tingling – a momentary itch. Not that it resulted in itching or redness but a pinch was definitely felt the moment I sprayed the serum on the scalp. I did not face any reactions though.

Serum Consistency

Definitely works in terms of hair growth

After weeks of use, there was a noticeable growth of tiny new hair on the hairline and I could easily tell that serum worked in terms of hair growth. The hair density was noticeably improved.

I could see an increase in hair volume and I mean the volume and density were really noticeable. Everyone noticed that.

I didn’t work on hair fall but increased the hair growth rate ultimately resulting in an increase in hair density.

The thing with hair growth serums or home remedies is you can not just sit and wait for the results to show up. You include them in your routine and forget about it. Then after weeks, you start noticing visible differences.

Reduced hair health/quality

But at the same time, my hair quality didn’t look good or healthy at all.

I mean, a single strand of my hair looked so brittle and weak.

The appearance of my hair looked weak as if they lost their health and luster. They felt rough and my crown area looked a lot more unruly and “damaged” if that’s the right word for the appearance I am trying to refer to.

The new hair, baby hair can definitely be seen but the serum kind of damaged the quality of my hair.

I now use the serum along with hair oil

As a result, I started using hair oil (Nyveda Revive My Roots Oil) every time I used this hair serum to reduce the damaging effect and it definitely helped upto some level.

My hair didn’t exactly become like Rapunzel 👸🏻 but it felt like the dryness this hair growth serum bought was somehow managed when used with hair oil.

So the Wishcare hair growth serum definitely increases the hair growth rate but at the cost of damaging the hair quality and texture. The claim of repairing damaged hair wasn’t true in my case.

What would you do about that hair growth if you had to compromise the quality of your hair?! 🙃

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. I am not going to lie, despite the other drawbacks, the serum does work for hair growth.

I haven’t tested out Pilgrim yet but I would suggest you The Ordinary hair growth serum if you do need one.

It’s not that it resulted in reaction or redness but it had its own drawbacks such as resulting in oily-looking hair when used daily, the quality of hair looked reduced and weak, and increased hair fall when used daily.

Final Thoughts: WishCare Hair Serum

The serum results in an increase in hair fall when used on a regular basis. It might be because of Redensyl but I am not entirely sure. It works for hair growth and density but had a negative impact on the quality and appearance of my hair. They looked brittle and weak.

Pros

  • Works for hair growth
  • Noticed a visible increase in hair density
  • Over months, my hair looked a lot more dense

Cons

  • Photoshopped photos on the Brand website
  • Results in oily-looking hair when used daily
  • Increase in hair fall when used daily
  • Damaged the quality of my hair
