UnDry Hydrating Sunscreen Review SPF 50 PA+++

UnDry Hydrating Sunscreen Review SPF 50 PA+++

UnDry Hydrating Sunscreen caught my attention when I was exploring Amazon for new sunscreen options for sensitive and eczema skin. I don’t prefer many of the commercialized Brands when it comes to sunscreen and only go for selected ones that are actually loved by the users.

The reason I decided to go for this one was it’s a mineral/physical sunscreen, SPF 50+++, and it is a broad-spectrum one. Offers UVA, UVB, and Blue Light Protection. Plus, it is sweat and water-resistant. Checks all the boxes for me.

I have been testing out the UnDry Sunscreen for a while now and I am ready to share my experience. Let’s dive into UnDry Hydrating Sunscreen Review.

Review – UnDry Hydrating Sunscreen SPF 50 PA+++

My Skin Type: Dry due to Eczema flare-ups. Sensitive and acne-prone skin.

Packaging: Comes in an opaque squeezable tube with a flip-flop cap. The nozzle is a typical one and not that pointed one which is more suitable for sunscreens to squeeze out easily on fingers. Easy to store and carry. All the details such as ingredients and expiry date are printed on the tube itself.

Fragrance: It has a very mild and soft face moisturizer kind of scent. Not at all irritating and is only noticeable when you sniff it directly.

My Experience

Ever since I started experiencing the worst scenarios of sunburns, I started to take my sun protection seriously. Earlier, my concern was limited to the product working for my sensitive skin and must not result in any breakouts. I used to buy high SPF thinking it would do the job. Now, my focus is to buy sunscreen that not only suits my sensitive skin but should be able to protect my skin from rashes and redness.

Now that I have tried multiple brands, I have realized that not all sunscreens are great when it comes to sun protection even after they offer SPF 50. Such as Dot and Key and Dr.Sheth’s. Both offer high SPF but couldn’t protect my skin from Sunburns.

Coming to the UnDry Hydrating Sunscreen comes in a cream and in a stick form. I for some reason do not feel comfortable using the stick hence I picked up the cream form.

I started using the Undry Sunscreen for my morning walks where I get my Sun exposure for Vitamin D. If I am not wearing any sunscreen or not wearing the right one, my skin starts popping blisters and my face itches really bad. Pretty soon there will be painful redness and rashes all over my face and exposed body resulting in peeling of the skin which is a really painful phase of Sunburns.

I used a 2-finger amount of sunscreen and applied it evenly on my face and neck. The texture and consistency were comfortable and easy to massage. It is neither thick nor runny and gets absorbed in minutes.

It didn’t leave any white cast, greasiness, heaviness, or any shine after application and it went on like I had applied a regular face moisturizer. After 15 minutes, I stepped out in the Sun and did my whole walk and there was not a single sign of Sunburn. No itch, no irritation, no redness, nothing. I literally stand under the Sun and the sunscreen did an exceptional job of protecting my skin.

Even after hours of sun exposure, I didn’t experience any redness or any sign of my skin being triggered.

Talking about the hydrating properties, I do not feel this is hydrating enough. I have dry skin and when I wore the UnDry Hydrating Sunscreen alone, I could feel the dryness and had to reach out for my moisturizer within an hour of application.

For oily skin, on the other hand, this can be used alone. But coming from the experience, even though it is not an intense or rich moisturizing sunscreen, this might not make oily skin comfortable especially when the skin becomes oily and sweaty. I had oily skin all my life before eczema happened and I would prefer matte textured sunscreens like UV Doux, and Nykaa Sunscreen, or lightweight sunscreens like ISDIN for oily skin.

I didn’t experience pilling-up of the sunscreen while applying or post-application but I did notice that at the end of the day, it slightly pills around around nose when I rub the skin. Probably due to dust and sweat exposure throughout the day.

Being a dry skin person, I go for sunscreens that are lightweight and non-greasy. Hydration isn’t a factor for me when it comes to sunscreen because I have my moisturizer for it and I do not want both, my moisturizer and sunscreen to be on the heavier side. I want to moisturize the skin but not the heavy feel.

UnDry Hydrating Sunscreen is ideal for anyone who is looking for a water-resistant sunscreen that is light on the skin with UVA, UVB, and blue light protection. Perfect for indoor as well as outdoor activities.

Summing Up

UnDry Hydrating Sunscreen worked great for me in terms of protecting my skin from Sunburns and rashes. The texture is comfortable on the skin and doesn’t feel heavy or greasy. Absorbs easily without causing any white cast or shine. Not enough moisturising so I use it after my moisturizer.

Pros
  • Light and Comfortable on the skin
  • Easy to Massage
  • Gets absorbed Easily
  • No White Cast or Heaviness
  • Protects my skin from Sunburns and Rashes
  • No Breakouts
  • Water Resistant
  • Great for Indoor and Outdoor Activities
Cons
  • Not Hydrating Enough
  • Dry Skin people will need additional moisturizer
  • Pills up after hours of wearing due to heat and sweat
