Nykaa SkinRx Sunscreen Review SPF 50 PA+++

Nykaa SkinRx Ultra Matte Dry Touch Sunscreen Review SPF 50 PA+++

It’s been a while since I purchased the Nykaa SkinRx Sunscreen and it’s been a pretty good experience so far. Before this, I was using Undry Sunscreen and that is a decent option for dry skin or for winter season in my opinion.

I had no idea that Nykaa has its own sunscreen. Actually, they have two variants. One is Ultra Matte dry touch which I have been using and will be reviewing today and the other one is Ultra Defence Oil-Free sunscreen. There weren’t good reviews for the oil-free variant, plus, the ultra matte dry-touch sunscreen says it is for both dry and oily skin so it made sense that I go for this one.

I have used Nykaa SkinRx serums in the past and I have restocked their vitamin-c serum so I had my trust in the SkinRx range. I have been using this sunscreen for a while and I am all set to share my experience.

Ingredients and How to Use

Review – Nykaa SkinRx Sunscreen SPF 50 PA+++

My Skin Type: Sensitive and acne-prone skin. Dry due to eczema flare-ups. Easily triggered by Sun and Dust resulting in dry patches and redness.

Packaging: It comes with a white and yellow themed squeezable tube with a screw cap and a pointed nozzle which I love for squeezing out sunscreens. Easy to store and travel-friendly. The tube itself has all the details including ingredients and expiry date.

Fragrance: None as such

My Experience

The moment I squeezed out Nykaa Sunscreen and started applying it on my face, my first reaction was – it felt exactly like UV Doux but without the tint.

I started by taking a two-finger amount and applied it evenly all over my face and neck. The texture being similar to UV Doux, felt lightweight with a silicone touch. Within minutes, it was easily absorbed without leaving any shine.

While applying, I noticed how easy and comfortable the texture was. It didn’t pill up or anything. There was no white cast or heaviness at all. It says ultra-matte but it has a super comfortable matte which even my dry skin loves. Of course, I use it after my moisturizer.

Both matte-ness and silicone texture are comfortable on my skin and don’t feel excessive. There was no greasiness and neither did it result in dullness like Dr.Sheth’s one did.

It has an off-white tint to it. Not exactly a tint but the look of this sunscreen resembles melted white chocolate, if I am not wrong. The consistency is smooth and easily blendable as claimed by the brand.

Nykaa SkinRx Sunscreen offers UVA, UVB, and Blue-light protection plus it is water and sweat-resistant so it is an all-rounder for me. I wore this sunscreen during my morning walk and it did a great job of protecting my skin from sunburns and its symptoms.

I didn’t experience any itch during sun exposure and neither did any redness post sun exposure. Highly impressed with the Nykaa SkinRx Sunscreens. I have used Sunscreens in the past that say SPF 50 and are broad-spectrum like Dot and Key but they didn’t really protect my skin from sunburns.

It says it has a skin brightening complex which I didn’t notice as such but it did not make my skin look dull over the regular usage which is a plus point.

There were no breakouts or congestion, nothing. Worked absolutely fine for my sensitive and acne-prone skin. Nykaa SkinRx Sunscreen checks all the boxes for me. It is a mineral sunscreen, that offers high sun protection, is water-resistant, and works for my sensitive skin. Such an amazing one that will suit all skin types and will work for everyone.

Next, I’ll share my experience with the Lawm from the Hills sunscreen which I got from Amazon. Just a heads up, it ain’t that impressive.

Update (14th November 2023): I tried the Lawm from the Hills Sunscreen, and here is my review.
