Cetaphil Moisturizing Cream Review

Sale Alert for my readers-

Cetaphil Moisturizing Cream came to my rescue when my eczema flared up and my skin was red, itchy, and rashes. There was a time when Cetaphil Moisturizers were way too intense for me and I only used them during Winter for a limited period.

Now that my skin is going through changes, it quickly gets triggered due to my existing allergies, and I often end up having rashes with dry red patches. Those rashes are so painful and feel like they are burning, that only a thick rich moisturizer only can help heal those rashes.

I also use my Eucerin Moisturizer from time to time which gives a kind of cooling effect but it isn’t enough to heal those dry rashes. I have been using Cetaphil Moisturising Cream for some time now on my sensitive and acne-prone skin and I am all set to share my review.

Review – Cetaphil Moisturizing Cream

My Skin Type: Currently facing allergic rashes and redness followed by dry patches. Sensitive and acne-prone skin.

Packaging: It comes in a squeezable tube with a flip-flop cap. The tube has all the details including the expiry date and ingredients. The same moisturizer also comes in a jar/tub. I also got to know there is a Cetaphil moisturizing cream 20oz variant which is basically half a Kg. In fact, slightly more than that. I am not sure if it is available in India though but both, tube and tub packaging are easily available.

Fragrance: Nothing as such.

My Experience

Cetaphil has so many varieties of moisturizers that it often gets confusing which Cetaphil moisturizer is best for the face? There is a Cetaphil moisturizer for dry skin, then there is Cetaphil moisturizing cream for very dry sensitive skin, and then there is Cetaphil moisturizing lotion. I totally understand how overwhelming it might feel. But after trying a few variants I have realized Cetaphil basically is a rescue to Dry Skin. They are not just moisturizers for dry skin but they are intense healing moisturizers to actually heal your skin from dryness. Variants of course differ in texture and consistency but basically, consider them a remedy to all kinds of dryness.

Cetaphil Moisturizing Cream Review for Rashes

I started using Cetaphil Moisturising Cream when my rashes became so intense none of my existing creams were helping me. My Aveeno moisturizer was able to soothe my skin and provide nourishment but at that point, I not only need a moisturizer, but I also needed a thick texture to heal the rashes and dryness. At one point, my skin used to produce oil-like wells, and now my skin is facing so much dryness due to allergies.

I took a decent amount and dotted it all over my face followed by gently massaging it in slow circular motions. The texture was exactly how I wanted it to be, that is thick! The application was so satisfying and soothing. It immediately provided relief to those itchy rashes.

I loved how it added a boost of nourishment and at the same time, it didn’t feel greasy. There was no oily shine or heaviness. Just a rich amount of nourishment which I, or anyone with itchy dryness would need. My face was so soothed and relieved with the moisturizer.

I used the Cetaphil Moisturizing Cream Day and Night, and whenever I needed to soothe the itchy rashes and it definitely improved my skin. I not only used this one as a moisturizer but also as an ointment on the redness to calm it down.

Cetaphil Moisturizing Cream Review

Over time, it definitely improved the situation. The dryness seems to be recovering while the rashes healed a lot. My skin finally got this nourishment and a glow that faded away due to allergies. I won’t say my situation was exactly recovered because my eczema keeps coming and then there are seasonal allergies resulting in red patches with a burning sensation. But, it worked on the dryness, and having Cetaphil Moisturising Cream with me helps me to tame them down and keep the situation in control.

Imagine if I have used this moisturizer under normal circumstances, that is, to treat winter dryness with no rashes or allergies or anything, I would have seen different but equally effective results. My skin texture would have looked much better, healed, and nourished. If this can soothe my rashes, it can do anything.

Cetaphil Moisturizing Cream Review Texture

My Mother also used this Cetaphil Moisturizer on a daily basis and she is a dry skin person. Luckily, her skin isn’t sensitive and only requires a moisturizer for her dry skin. She complimented the moisturizer saying that the texture and thickness made her dry skin feel so nourished and also improved the skin texture a lot.

As per the claims, it definitely improved the skin barrier and worked on dryness, roughness, tightness, and irritation. Cetaphil moisturizing cream very dry sensitive skin worked like a charm and I am absolutely in love with it.

If I compare it with Cetaphil DAM Daily Advanced Ultra Hydrating Lotion, then I feel that this Cetaphil Moisturizing is thicker and more intense while the other lotion is slightly runny while being decently moisturizing.

You can tell from the Images I have already restocked another tube.

Is Cetaphil moisturizing cream good for the face?

Definitely, yes. Most of the Cetaphil moisturizers can be used on the face and body which is why it gets confusing whether a particular one can be used on the face because let’s be honest, facial skin is way more sensitive and we do not want to risk it.

Is Cetaphil or CeraVe better?

CeraVe isn’t launched in India yet but I personally heard a lot about CeraVe moisturizing cream. I am eagerly waiting for this to be launched and the way International Brands are launching at Nykaa one after another, I am sure pretty soon we’ll have CeraVe in India too.

Summing Up

Cetaphil Moisturizing Cream is exactly what I wanted and it came to my rescue for my seasonal allergies and rashes. The texture and consistency are thick like I wanted to soothe the redness and itchy rashes that I face during an eczema flare-up and allergic dryness. It is loaded with nourishment without feeling greasy on the skin and is perfect for anyone with dryness or facing dry patches, roughness, and itchiness. It soothes and calms my skin and leaves a rich nourishment behind.
