FYORR White Chocolate Facial Wax Review

I was looking for peel-off wax for my facial hair when I spotted this FYORR white chocolate facial wax which is basically a Katori wax, a peel-off wax. After reading the reviews I decided to go for it. I have used almost half of the product and I am set to share my experience with facial waxing and how this particular wax performed on my sensitive skin and coarse hair.

FYORR Facial Wax Review

A little history

I grew up in a small town and I started to have dark facial hair and body hair at a really young age. I was in school and my hair growth was so much more than the girls around me. After I messed up with razors and hair removal creams, it was time for me to hit the parlors for waxing and threading, and back at that time, the only wax they had was honey wax. Nothing beyond this.

I remember, those parlor visits always ended up having burns, rashes, and legit skin peel-offs after waxing and I soon realized this isn’t about me or waxing, this is about the fact that there is no professional waxing service.

Soon I entered the age where I had to join my Mom for weekly or bi-weekly threading visits. If you aren’t from India, threading is basically a technique involving a special thread to pull off the facial hair and shape eyebrows.

There was a time when I had to visit parlors for threading, twice a week. The lady there suggested I should facial waxing and I said okay I mean sure, why not! She brought in a Katori (small bowl) of wax and I honestly, don’t what was so different there because at that point all they had was honey wax so what was the point anyways?

She performed the whole procedure of facial waxing and at that moment I felt like wow! finally found something better than threading which would at least last 2 weeks. The future me would have been having a pity on me at this point.

Not even 24 hours, I started to have itch, redness, rashes, and whatnot. I felt like I am some sort of alien who had to deal with these intense facial hair situations and I am not able to find a cure.

This was the point when I felt like all of this isn’t making sense. I mean I wasn’t at all interested in making parlor visits a part of my routine. Every time there was an event to attend I had to plan my parlor visits simply because of my facial hair.

That was the moment when I switched to Facial razors as my facial hair removal method and it is been 10 years or more probably more, facial razors are my go-to tool.

Coming back to the present…

Ever since I moved to this big city, things have been a lot easier for me. I mean I was so happy to see salons near my home. Calling them parlors would be an insult.

After a few months of experimenting, I switched to home-based salon services and things could not have been easier and more professional. I switched to RICA wax and the way professionals do their jobs, I have fallen in love with waxing again.

I decided to try facial wax again and this time, it was the RICA Brazialn facial wax beads specially designed for the face and it went smoothly! No pain, no rashes, no side effects. But, because I have faster hair growth, I decided to have a peel-off wax at home and after looking it up on Amazon, I found this FYORR White Chocolate Facial Hair Removal Peel-off Wax (no strips and wax heater required).

FYORR Peel-off Katori Wax (No Strips Required)

Price: Rs.93/- for 80gm

Available at Amazon.

Because mine was a pack of three, I know I know, but I bought it accidentally, it summed up to be Rs.93/- but it is different for the other variants and combos. Their single pack is also available on Amazon. Not my fault they didn’t mention this in an easy-to-spot location in the mobile app.

Product Description

  • Stripless wax for face and underarms
  • Glides easier on the skin than most waxing beads
  • Removes hair effortlessly to reveal soft, silky-smooth skin
  • It is a peelable wax and does not need any fabric strips
  • Great for removing facial hair and hair on the sensitive area

Ingredients

They have only mentioned Key Ingredients which are – Vegetable Oil, Aloe vera, Beeswax.

How to Use

Place the Katori (container) on a low-flow stove and allow it to melt. Once melted, allow it to cool down a little. Cool enough to apply on the skin with the help of a wooden spatula provided in the direction of hair growth. Allow it to dry and pull the wax in the opposite direction of hair growth. Follow up with a soothing gel to calm the area.

Review – FYORR White Chocolate Facial Wax

Left – New Jar and on the Right – Used Jar

My Skin: Combination to Oily in Summers, Dry in Winters, Sensitive, and Acne-Prone Skin

Packaging: This comes in a tin which can be directly placed on the stove and a little wooden spoon/spatula with it. The tin further comes in a plastic pouch followed by an outer box with all the branding and details. It has the expiry date mentioned so I am all set.

Fragrance: It doesn’t smell like white chocolate, to be honest. Not even close to what RICA white chocolate smells like. But, it isn’t bad. Not good either. Somewhere in between.

My Experience

I started by heating the tin jar, allowing it to melt, and gently applying the wax in the direction of my hair growth. I applied the wax on my upper lips and on my chin. I couldn’t even think of experimenting with facial wax for my brows.

The moment I applied the wax, I could feel the hardening of it. My skin felt the tautness. After a minute or so, I started peeling off the wax in the opposite direction of hair growth, and Oh My God the pain. We females go through all kinds of pain but this was the next level. I had tears in my eyes.

Once I was all done, I could legit see that hair on the peeled-off wax strip. And the strip felt like hard plastic once pulled off. It literally broke into pieces like glass when fell on the floor.

I ain’t lying it was satisfying to see all those chin hair on the strip. That moment felt so great. I was so shocked with the results that I stared at the strip for a while lol!

But, even though it did a nice job of removing the facial hair, it didn’t clean the area completely. It only pulled around 90% of the hair and going twice didn’t do it either. I had to pluck that leftover hair with a tweezer. I mean it was okay if it would have one or two hair left but it left a noticeable amount of hair on my chin.

The next day I notice there were a few breakouts on my chin. A few tiny pimples and I realized this was because of the facial wax. This could be either this particular wax or my skin just rejected the facial wax altogether.

This was a bummer. I had to switch back to facial razors because I had no other option for facial hair removal at home. First, FYORR Facial Wax was painful as hell, second, it didn’t remove all the hair, and third, ended up giving me breakouts.

I wanted an option to remove my facial hair with wax with no strips or heater required but this didn’t work for me as expected. Even if I use it once in a while, there is no point as I will have to use a tweezer and face the breakouts if any.

The first image is of a New Jar and Second Image is of a Used Jar.

On top of it, after a number of uses, the tin jar started to burn from the edges and one time, the whole tin literally caught the fire. I think I am going to stick to my facial razor for now.

Even if I buy the whole pack of RICA Beads, I’ll need to buy the heater and spatula. Not a bad idea but do I really want facial waxing that badly? Not sure because a friend of mine suggested that opting for a wax every time for facial hair can end up having loose skin.

But, I did get the clarity that if and when I ever decide to go for a facial wax, it would be RICA for sure.

Coming back to these FYORR Facial Wax, I don’t think I can recommend these to everyone. This was painful and ended up in breakouts.

Pros
  • Easy to melt
  • Easy to apply and remove
  • Removes most of the hair
  • No strips or heater needed
Cons
  • Extremely Painful
  • Leaves 10-15% of hair behind
  • Ended up clogging my pores
  • Tin jar burns after multiple uses

This was it for today. I hope you have found this facial peel-off wax review helpful. Let me know your thoughts in the comments below.

Have a Good Day!
