Derma Angel Acne Patch Review: The Best in Town!

Derma Angel acne patch was introduced to me by Dermatologist when I went in for my laser hair reduction sessions. I was having hormonal acne so she asked me if I am doing anything about it. I told her about the drying lotion but she asked me to consider acne patches. I mentioned I have tried one from Dr. Belmeur The Face Shop earlier which worked really well but with the second purchase, their packaging was different and they were not effective as before.

I even tried an acne patch from Spruce but it was a total waste of money as it did literally nothing. This time she asked me to use these pimple patches from Derma Angel and I was like sure, why not.

Review in Detail – Derma Angel Acne Patch

My Skin Type: Sensitive and acne-prone skin. Currently facing dryness due to the history of Eczema.

Packaging: It comes in a cardboard box packaging which is the usual packaging for pimple patches. There is an instruction manual inside and a set of 6 patches which are further in a transparent pouch.

Fragrance: None as such.

Quantity wise, way pricey!

Why everything at a Dermat clinic is so expensive. When she handed me the bill I was shocked to see that there are only 6 patches for Rs.549/-. I had this feeling of instant regret for spending this much on only 6 patches. At that very point, I decided to share my review for Derma Angel, good or bad as I am not keeping this to only myself.

Another thing I noticed was that usually, the acne patches were of Hydrocolloid but this one had no mention of Hydrocolloid instead, these patches had Salicylic acid.

I had this pimple on my chin after my periods were over and I decided to give Derma angel acne patches a try. Right after cleansing my face, I pulled out the patch and applied it directly over the pimple making sure it is entirely covered. Next, I followed my skincare routine with Klairs toner and Cetaphil Moisturizer.

Removed all the acne gunk in one go

I had the day variant, similar to the Luxe Organix pimple patch, so I kept the patch for the whole day and removed it in the evening. After I removed it, I could clearly see all the gunk being pulled out by the patch. The white puss was right there out in the open and all I had to do was either wash my face or clean it with a cotton pad.

It surprisingly did really well compared to the Hydrocolloid patches I tried in the past. While the patch was on, I couldn’t help but notice how thin the patch was. It was like the most invisible pimple patches I ever tried.

Blurred the redness

At the same time, it also blurred the redness of the pimple which made it more convenient to wear it out in public. The patch didn’t get disturbed while I had my moisturizer on top of it.

I didn’t try it, but it claims that it can be worn under makeup too. Seeing how thin and comfortable the patch was, no doubt it won’t be bothersome under makeup.

What I love the most about the idea of acne patches is that they not only help the acne but also protect the pimple from outer dust and help hide the redness if any.

Helped healing the acne faster than ever

After the puss was removed, the acne healed in no time. It was the quickest recovery of the pimple I guess. After I cleaned the pimple, I applied a tiny dot of Caladryl lotion to soothe the area. This is where I missed The Face Shop Dr. Belmeur’s old packaging of acne patches because they also had this post-removal patch to cover the open wound from dust. Their new variant is thick and comes off with the slightest of facial movements.

Bioderma Atoderm Ultra Nourishing Cream Review

That being said, I still feel this is an expensive option to consider especially when you face frequent acne. 6 Patches will be over in no time. It is a great option for someone who experiences acne once in a while.

Considering how frequently I get acne over my chin due to hormonal issues, I am still going to keep Drying Lotion as my top priority and will consider acne patches once in a while.

My Before and After Images with Derma Angel Acne Patch

Warning! – I feel like I should put a disclaimer here because the following images are raw and unedited and include acne and facial hair.

This is my image before I began my skincare routine. You can see the patch visible on one of my chin acne. In case you are wondering, that hair growth is after my third session of laser hair reduction. Yup! Still got a lot of chin hair.

I am so sorry I forgot to take the before shot of the acne.

A bit close-up of the patch. Literally impressed with how thin and comfortable it feels.

This is the Image I took after 4 hours of the application.

This is the Image after I removed the peel. The puss has surfaced and is ready to be wiped off.

And this is what the used patch looked like. Full of oil and everything. I know it doesn’t look good but I had to show all the images of the process.

This is how the acne looked like when I wiped off the puss with a cotton pad and Micellar Water. It is an open wound at the moment for which, I applied a tiny drop of Caladryl Lotion on top of it to protect it.

This is what acne looked like the next morning after I showered. It has started to shrink and dry up. I also shaved my chin area.
