Ingredients
This fast-acting, effective spot treatment contains the following highly effective ingredients.
- Salicylic Acid: Reduces the appearance of redness of blemishes

How to Use
- Before bed (after cleansing and toning), dip a cotton swab into the pink sediment at the bottom of the bottle.

My Skin Type: Combination to Oily in Summer, Dry in Winter, Sensitive, and Acne-Prone Skin
Packaging: It comes in a clear glass bottle with a screw lid. It obviously arrived with both of the solutions mixed, so I allowed it to settle because this is how it works with the solutions completely separated. Do not shake or mix the liquids before applying.
Fragrance: The moment I applied the liquid to my pimple, I immediately felt the strong presence of sulfur and camphor. I had no idea about the ingredients at this point, and if you are Indian, camphor is something that is always there in your home in one form or another. I am, in fact, using camphor-based room fragrance only from Campure, and OMG, what a hit product it is.
Next, I felt it had Calamine in it because the texture felt similar to Caladryl lotion. When I checked the ingredients, it had all those in it. Skills!
My Experience
Where was this drying lotion when I was going through extreme acne problems, and my face used to be full of cystic acne and giant painful bumps? If you are a teenager and going through hormonal acne, this could be a blessing.
My Personal Favourites
After I wash my face, I put my cotton swab straight into the bottle till it hits the bottom and pulls back without mixing or shaking anything, and I apply that directly onto my pimples and painful, red acne. I do this in my nighttime routine only because you have to leave this lotion on overnight.
I then follow up with my moisturizer, leaving the area where I have applied the lotion.

The next morning, I am not kidding, most of my cystic acne was dried, some redness was reduced, and in some, the size was doubled and looked like they were about to pop in a day or two. Some acne dried overnight while some required a follow-up of up to a week.
I am honestly impressed with the way this lotion works. The moment I applied it, I could sense the extremely strong sulfur-like fragrance. At that moment, I knew this was going to work.
I now apply this lotion the day I feel an acne is about to rise. You know the initial pain and a tiny little bump that is about to turn into a big one. I applied this drying lotion at that very stage only, and it helped me so much in preventing those from becoming full-sized acne.
Mario Badescu drying lotion legitimately works on active acne in a single night. I do not use this lotion if there is a cut, scratch, or tear around my pimple.
That being said, Mario Badescu drying lotion is not targeted to treat acne marks or spots if any.
Mario Badescu is an ideal solution for people dealing with active acne. But if you are someone who gets a pimple once in two months, this might not be the best choice. The reason is that it is an expensive product. If you don’t face acne much regularly, having acne patches on your shelf will be helpful.
