I remember myself talking to back in college days when my skin was all loaded with pimples and I had to travel here and there facing all the dust and pollution that isn’t there something like a patch which I can apply on a pimple and it will just protect it from the dust meanwhile working on it? My Skin Type: Combination to Oily in Summers, Dry in Winters, Sensitive, and Acne-Prone Skin

Packaging: It comes in a zip-lock pouch with 3 strips inside. 2 Strips of Hydrocolloid Band and 1 strip of Spot Plaster Band. Each Individual strip has 20 to 40 patches making a total of 80 patches.

My Experience

Since it is a complete kit having two types of patches in it, I was super confused about which one to use overnight and which one to use the next day. I reached to a friend for help who already used this and she mentioned that Hydrocolloid is to be used overnight and a spot plaster band is to be used the next day to soothe the wound.

Spot Hydrocolloid Band

As mentioned in the instructions, I applied one patch right after I washed my face before any skincare product, precisely over the pimple. Hydrocolloid Bands comes in 2 sizes covering both small and medium sized pimples.

I noticed the acne patch is slightly thick and has a silicone look to it. Right after I applied it on my face, it sort of vanished. I asked my Mom if she can spot where the patch is she literally couldn’t. The band is noticeable from real up close and personal.

Another thing that impressed me right away was that the hydrocolloid band makes the pimple look less red and big. I remember using the acne patch on a big red pimple for the first time and the patch almost hid it. Cool, right?

I applied the patch on the pimple followed by my regular toner and moisturizer and left it overnight. The next morning, the moment I took off the patch I was shook. The size of the pimple was 80% reduced.

But results weren’t this same all the time. Depending on the pimple, there were different results every time.

I remember there was this pimple on my forehead with pus in it. I applied The Face Shop acne patch and the next morning, the pimple was slightly bigger with pus on top. For a second, I was like why it isn’t reduced and why the patch didn’t pull the pus out of the pimple but when I washed my face, the pus was gone. The acne patch worked differently this time but, worked!

Sometimes it reduced the size, sometimes it reduced the redness, and sometimes it pulled the pus to top level. Different results, but always effective.

The most important was to remember that this Dr.Belmeur Acne Patch needs to be applied before any skincare product. Most of the time, I jumped right onto my toner and then it clicked my mind that oops! I forgot the patch.

The best part about The Face Shop Acne Patch is they work on the pimple while protecting it from outside dust and make the pimple look a lot less big and red. Acne patches are my new favorite thing now.

Spot Plaster Band

This one is to be used the next day on the same pimple which was treated by the Hydrocolloid band last night. This one’s role is to soothe the wound while protecting it from getting in contact with dust and pollution.

Spot plaster band is super thin and the moment I applied it to my skin, it was disappeared. Unlike hydrocolloid band, this doesn’t hide the wound but only acts as a soothing cover.

I applied the spot plaster band right after my face wash followed by my skincare routine and left it on my face for the whole day. I removed the patch in the evening and there was simply traces of oil on it. With the whole process of Hydrocolloid Band and Spot Plaster band, I feel that whenever I get a pimple, it is treated at a much faster rate.

I always make sure to follow up with Minimalist Alpha Arbutin Serum as that is a gem when it comes to fade away acne and pimple marks.
