O3 Detan Pack Review – I received this face pack a while back in my PR from Nykaa and before this, I never really thought of getting it. The reason is, that I don’t face many tanning problems as before my skin gets tanned, it starts burning and turns red resulting in itching and rashes.

Secondly, I never really bothered about having a tan. If, occasionally I do get get tan while travelling, I am not much affected by it.

Now that I have the famous O3 Detan Face Pack, I decided to see whether it is actually useful because if it is, it can be a really great option for people dealing with tanning issues.

People with Oily Skin. Dry Skin people can use as well but the mask is of strong nature and can result in dryness. I will advise you to use this mask on a monthly basis if you are a dry skin person or once in two weeks if you are an oily skin person.

How is the Packaging?

O3 Tan removal cream comes in a giant tub with a screw lid. The tub is easy to store though it will require a large space but it doesn’t create a mess and is easy to use.

How is the Fragrance?

I don’t know if it is only me but it seriously smells like a paint or a whitener/thinner that we used to have in schools. It is bearable though. It does have some hint of Eucalyptus Oil too.

How I Use

I don’t use any brush or applicator and apply the mask with my fingers only. I prefer to apply it before the shower so it is easy to wash off.

• I wash my face with my face wash
• Pat it dry, and apply a decent layer of the o3 detan pack covering face and neck
• Leave it for 10 minutes and wash off
• Next, I follow up with a moisturizer

My Experience with the O3 D-Tan Pack

My Skin Type: Sensitive and acne-prone skin. Normal to dehydrated skin.

Has a creamy texture

The texture is soft, creamy, and easy to apply. I did not use any brush or mask and applied the pack with my fingers only. Even while applying, I could smell that paint kind of scent. I don’t mind it but I am curious which ingredient is making this pack smell like that.

It is not a thick solid mask. It is slightly on the liquid side. Like a jiggling jelly. Hope I am able to make you get it.

Mild Tingling Sensation

Right after application, I felt some tingling in some areas of my face such as around my nose and cheeks. It was not painful neither it felt like a burning sensation. It was like one of those tingling sensations where you know the product is working.

After 5 to 7 minutes, I washed it off and it was quite easy to take it off. I did not need to rub hard or spend so much time taking the pack off.

While washing, I could feel my skin’s texture. You know those strong foaming cleansers that leave your skin super dry as if it stripped out all the oil? That is the kind of feeling I got after washing off the mask.

I did not have any tan, but I was surprised to see the results from the first use only. My skin looked like I ate 3 to 4 FLASH LIGHTS!! I am not kidding.

If I am being honest, I did not enjoy that look for a while. I looked white as my face had no dimensions. It was not looking natural.

In about 8-10 hours, it sort of settled in and looked natural. No doubt, it took away all the dullness and did a deep clean of my face but the way it leaves my skin right after washing, it is just too much!

Highly Effective for Tan Removal

After using the O3 Detan pack every Monday for about a month or two, I can confirm that for people who are looking for a tan removal face pack, the O3 D-tan pack is the one you need.

O3 Detan pack no doubt works on removing tan and dullness. It cleanses well and leaves the skin super bright and clean.

At the same time, I feel this mask is ideal for people with oily skin as my dehydrated skin did feel a little dry after the O3 Detan pack. It claims to pull out all the dirt and excess oil and I think it is really good at its job.

O3 Detan Pack Can Be a Little Drying

I did not face any acne or breakouts after using the O3 Detan pack but I do feel I got some clogged pores not because of the pack, but as a result of using such a strong pack. It looked like my skin had to produce more oil in order to balance it, and despite using a moisturizer, I did notice some occurrence of clogged pores.

This is why, I no longer use it weekly and switched it to using once in 15 days for a monthly detox kind of scene.

As far as oily skin goes, I would suggest not using it twice a week as this has a tendency to disturb the pH balance.

A similar thing happened to me when I used the Aztec Indian Healing Clay Mask. That mask was so strong for my oily skin that it disturbed the pH balance and oil balance and resulted in clogged pores and more production of oil.

Ideal to Use on a Monthly Basis

My suggestion would be to use this mask once in two weeks or monthly. O3 Detan pack is a really strong one in terms of pulling out all the oil and dirt and using it frequently can lead to clogging up of pores and drying up of skin as happened with me. My skin felt dry after the mask and as a result, my skin started producing more oil and sweat after using the pack frequently – leading to clogged pores.

Apart from this, I think it did well for my sensitive skin. I did not experience any rashes, redness, or burning sensation, and neither did it trigger my eczema.

In my opinion, the O3 d-tan face pack is something you would want to use on a monthly basis or after a trip or intense Sun exposure rather than using it on a weekly basis.
