Neutrogena is one of the Brands that has my trust. Their Deep Clean cleanser is my favourite one and I have restocked so many of those bottles.

Review – Neutrogena Bright Boost Gel Cream

My Skin Type: Combination to Oily in Summer, Dry in Winter, Sensitive, and Acne-Prone Skin. Currently facing dryness and occasional dry patches due to a history of eczema.

Packaging: Comes in every luxurious-looking glass tub with a screw cap. Easy to store, use, and carry on vacation.

Fragrance: It does have a strong perfumed kind of scent but it didn’t irritate my sensitive nose and neither it triggered my sinus.

My Experience

I started using the Neutrogena Bright Boost Gel Cream daily, day and night after my cleansing and prepping with Nykaa SkinRx Multi-Peptide serum.

I take a pea-sized amount for each side of my face and tap gently all over my face and neck. The texture and consistency of the moisturizer feel super lightweight and non-sticky. It was immediately absorbed by my skin leaving my skin soft to the touch.

Within minutes of application, my skin felt like porcelain soft and smooth. I have been so habitual of my skin feeling plumped and bouncy after rich moisturizers that this was a new feeling for me after so long.

I regularly used the gel cream and noticed that on some days, my skin felt the need for additional moisturizer. Definitely not enough for people with dry skin. For oily skin, this will be a really great option during summer.

Talking about the brightness claim, I definitely notice my skin looking brighter after a few days of application. Initially, it felt like a temporary effect but after weeks of usage, I sure noticed my skin looking brighter. Because it does contain AHA (Alpha Hydroxy Acid), I made sure to not skip my sunscreen and followed up with my current favorite, ISDIN sunscreen daily after the gel cream.

Constant exposure to pollution and sweat plus the flare-ups caused by dust and dairy allergies end up making my skin dull. Neutrogena Bright Boost Gel Cream definitely worked on that dullness and resulted in a bright and fresh complexion. Totally happy with the results.

After using it for weeks, I felt like my skin wasn’t demanding additional moisturizer like it did initially when I started using the gel cream. It definitely improved my skin’s moisture level throughout the time. It doesn’t feel like a regular moisturizer but delivers great results over time. Oily skin people are going to love it as it does everything your skin needs without giving you the feel of a cream-based moisturizer.

I didn’t experience any breakout, rash, or clogging up of my pores so Neutrogena Bright Boost Gel Cream is definitely a yes for my sensitive and acne-prone skin.

The texture feels so comfortable under my makeup as well and when I apply an additional layer of moisturizer over it, it sits comfortably on my skin without making my skin feel heavy.

I do not have extremely uneven skin so I can not say much about the claim of evening out the skin tone but considering how it is true to its claims and how effective it was, I am sure people who are experiencing uneven skin tone will be benefited from this Neutrogena Bright Boost Gel Cream.

I have been using Nykaa Vitamin C serum and its Multi-Peptide serum and sticking to my routine of moisturizers and sunscreen for such a long time that my skin has improved a lot over time. This gel cream felt like a great addition to my routine.

Update (17th September 2023): I finished this tiny tub and restocked a full jar of Neutrogena Bright Boost Cream along with Nykaa 20% Vitamin C Serum. The packaging of the bigger jar is slightly risky so make sure you open it carefully.

Does Neutrogena Bright Boost really work?

Yes. It sure did at least in my case. My skin definitely looked brighter and fresh. It works on the dullness caused by constant exposure to sweat and pollution. AHA in it actually results in feeling my skin super soft.

Final Thoughts

I am impressed how Neutrogena Bright Boost Gel cream lived up to its claim and actually brightened up my skin over weeks of usage. I like how it leaves my skin super soft to the touch and improves my skin’s moisture level over time. It is lightweight and is absorbed easily by my skin making it perfect for oily skin people. I didn’t experience any breakout and it did great on my sensitive skin.
