I Tried Pep Nails: Here Is My Detailed Review
I remember scrolling through my Instagram stories when I saw this beautiful ad for press-on nails by the Brand Pep Nails and it immediately caught my attention. I Googled it, found it on Blinkit, and ordered it immediately. Their ad caught my attention because it was the first time I saw fake nails of super quality, beautifully designed, and packed with everything you need to apply them.

My Experience with Getting Nail Extensions Done
For years I heard stories of people getting acrylic nails, sharing their nail extension pictures, and even though I really wanted to, I restrained myself simply because I didn’t want to ruin my natural nails.
Then one day, I just said to myself that is it, I am getting my nails done and see what the hype is about. Since then, I became obsessed with nail extensions, and my Pinterest and Instagram feeds got loaded with nail designs.
My Personal Favourites
Niharika X NykaaI got nail extensions done many times in different places and my experience varied from place to place. It became a habit and couldn’t keep my nails bare.
Pretty soon, I realised I need to give them a break to allow my natural nails to heal.
Plus, once I started getting nail extensions, my bare nails didn’t look that good. There was leftover glue, chipped-off, and buffed nail bed and I simply couldn’t take pictures with that kind of nails.
I remember I got a fresh set of extensions and one of them broke down the next day. I had to travel all the way back to the clinic to get it fixed and, it broke again the next day.
I decided to visit the clinic for one last time and never think about getting them done from salon again. Not only it involve so much time, but they had to buff and file my nails so many times that my natural nail bed got extremely weak and started to feel the heat.
Damage from UV Lamps
Meanwhile, I heard so many stories on how UV lamps that are used to dry the gel nail paints are harsh on the natural nails and can cause cancer and hyperpigmentation and how you are supposed to wear sunscreen when you get your nails done.
All of these made me think twice and I made a decision of not to get nail extensions done and improve my natural nails no matter what.
I looked for nail care products at Nykaa and got myself Calcium Milk and a 7-in-1 Nail Spa from Nykaa’s own nail care range. I stuck to that and didn’t even use my own nail paints and thanks to that calcium milk, my nails got so much better, healthier, and prettier over time. One coat of Nykaa calcium milk made my nails look so much finer and pretty.
Not going to lie, I missed having those permanent and beautiful nails. I didn’t have to fix my chipped-off nail paint every time I took photos. Didn’t have to apply nail paint every time I took product photos for the article. Didn’t have to think twice before showing my nails in Instagram stories and I loved flaunting them.
That is when the pep nails ad of false nails showed up as if the Universe was listening to me at the moment. Now I own 3 sets of pep nails and one other from Nykaa which I will show in this article below.
I realized press-on nails are the ones that I need that will help me have beautiful nails without damaging my nail bed and they are so much more economical.

Pep Nails Review- Detailed Opinion
I started by cleaning my nails with the alcohol swab provided so that it is free from any dust or any left-over nail paint. Then, I file my nails a little simply to prep them. Filed and Buffed nails allow the nail glue or the nail tabs to create a strong bond between the false nail and the natural nail. Remember not to file them hard as you don’t want to damage your natural nails.
Then, I start arranging the false nails by measuring them against my natural nails. It makes it easy to simply pick up the assigned false nail and stick it on the natural nail.
Glue tabs for shorter duration
Next, I take the glue tabs when I want to wear the false nails for a shorter period of time such as a product shoot or a quick event and I don’t have to engage in any activity as the glue tabs are a super easy, quick, and convenient way to apply the false nails but won’t last much longer.
All I had to do was take out one glue tab from the sheet, apply it on my nail, remove the peel, and apply the false nail directly over it. The hold of the glue tab itself is super strong and is able to hold the press-on nails for hours.
The glue tabs do not cause any damage to the nail and are super easy to remove. I really liked the idea of applying false nails with glue tabs as it helps me to wear press-on nails before my product shoot or before any event quickly and I can easily remove them after the shoot.
With nail glue, nails lasted way longer
The nail glue on the other hand keeps the false nails on for 2-3 weeks. I wear my false nails with nail glue more often now as I am habitual of slightly lengthy nails and I love my hands with press-on nails. I simply apply the nail glue over the false nail apply it gently over my natural nail and press it for minutes.
The brand claims them to stay for 2-3 weeks but sometimes, they fall off within a week while sometimes they last for straight 20 days. All the daily chores and everything eventually loosens up the glue and one or other nail starts to fall off. I then apply the glue again on the false nail and stick it back.
I find the press-on nails far more convenient, economical, safe, and beautiful as compared to acrylic extensions from salons. Even if the nail breaks down, I don’t have to visit the salon to get it fixed.
Talking about the quality of Pep nails especially, I found them worth the money. The edges were soft and got subtle after a few days of wear. The quality of the nails and the paint looks super premium and they look so pretty on my nails.
Nykaa SkinRX Serums Review Complete Range
I also wanted to experiment with the Soezi nails by Sonakshi Sinha but I didn’t hear much exciting reviews yet. Some of the customers complained about the broken nails when arrived while some complained about the quality or staying power. If I plan to get my hands on them, I’ll definitely share my review.
Now let me show all the 3 variants of Pep Nails I got for myself, and how they looked and performed on my nails.
Review Pep Nails I Bought – All 3 Variants
1. Mulberry

Pep Nails Mulberry is a coffin-shaped medium-length nail with a glossy ombre effect of maroon and black. These are the prettiest press nails from all the variants I own and I got so many compliments for them. The coffin shape is one of my favourites and the length suited me the best.
In the picture, I have stuck on these nails with the glue tabs and you can see how neat they look.
I always wanted to have a perfect ombre nail because the salons always said they could not do exactly like the picture or not do the exact combination I showed them on Pinterest.
This mulberry set from Pep Nails is no doubt my favorite one.
2. Terra Cotta
This one is again a coffin-shaped set in medium length with a matte mauve finish. This was the first set I got for myself and I immediately fell in love with the Brand as well as with the idea of false nails.
I am taking this picture with the glue tabs on it. Later, I decided to wear them with nail glue for a longer period of time.
I have these on currently while I am writing this article and they look so pretty and are perfect. I feel the quality is sturdy with finely finished edges.
3. Merlot

These are square-shaped medium-length nails with a glossy finish. This is the latest set I got and even though they look so beautiful on my nails, I find the material a bit less sturdy as compared to the other two coffin-shaped nails I own.
I do not know if the shape makes any difference but these fell off much quicker. The glue wasn’t able to create that strong bond as it did with the other two. Not that this set didn’t perform well, but wasn’t up to that mark as the other two performed.

Classic Red Soft Gel Press-on Nails, Heart, and Misora
Yup, I am uploading the images after almost a year. They have been sitting in my gallery since then.
However, after continuous wear, the soft gel variant started to lose its shine and I tried to freshen them up with a coat of Nykaa Double Duty but that didn’t last much long. Still, one of my favorites.

Disney Minni Mouse Nails X Makeup Revolution
There is another set I got for myself from Nykaa which is a collaboration of Makeup Revolution and Disney Minni Mouse and the moment I saw them, I couldn’t resist buying them. I haven’t worn them yet but I am excited and I hope they turn out to be good.
How to Remove False Nails?
One of the questions that come up with the false nails is How to remove the false nails or press-on nails. I have watched multiple YouTube videos and even the Brand suggests the same method, which is soaking your hands in warm soapy water for some time and removing the nail with the cuticle-pusher stick provided. I followed the same method to remove my gel extensions.
Pep Nails: Final Verdict
False Nails or Press-on Nails from Pep Nails are the first ever false nails I tried and they won my heart with their quality and finish. They look super pretty and easy to apply. I feel they are safer for my nails as compared to getting extensions done from the salon. Worth it.
This was it for today. I hope you have found my review of Pep Nails and my experience with them helpful. Let me know your thoughts in the comments below.
Have a Good Day!
good choice of nails, worth the price.
