Foxtale Sunscreen Review (Made My Skin Itch)

Foxtale Dewy Sunscreen Review SPF70 PA++++

Sunscreens hold a special corner in my heart and in my skincare routine and seeing Foxtale everywhere on the Internet, I decided to try out this Brand through their Foxtale Dewy Sunscreen.

If there is anything I like about my beauty blog it is my product reviews. I pour my heart out, good โ€“ bad everything. That is the reason my product reviews are the most loved articles on my website. I have been thinking of giving Foxtale skincare a try for some time but a part of me never really felt my 100% towards it.

Foxtale skincare products everywhere on Instagram and even my nearby mall had a beautiful setup of the Brand Foxtale. I really wanted to try something but at the same time, I didnโ€™t want to hurt my highly sensitive eczema-prone skin.

I opened Nykaa and started scrolling through Foxtale products and the first thing I see is Foxtale Vitamin C serum. Vitamin C Serums are something that I am always excited about but the moment I opened the review section, everyone was highly disappointed by it. So I made up my mind it was better to skip this one and decided to get myself their dewy sunscreen.

Application and Texture Experience

  • Application and absorption โ€“ Easy to apply and mess-free. Gets absorbed easily.
  • Texture โ€“ Soft and creamy
  • Scent โ€“ Mildy scented
  • Hydrating Factor โ€“ The formula is hydrating and suitable for dry skin
  • Sun Protection โ€“ Not enough for sensitive skin. I faced rashes and redness.

Foxtale Dewy Sunscreen Overall Opinion

I liked the soft creamy texture and the dewy finish. My face definitely looked glowy and dewy with the Foxtale sunscreen. But, it pils-up and I also faced itching upon application โ€“ did not suit my sensitive skin.

Who should use this sunscreen? (In my opinion)

From the texture and hydrating factor, Foxtale dewy sunscreen is ideal for people with dry skin. But, considering the fact that it has chemical filters, I would not recommend it as my top priority.

Oily, Sensitive, and acne-prone skin. I faced itching and redness after application and the sunscreen did not do well in terms of sun protection as I faced a lot of heat rashes with Foxtale SPF70 on.

How I Use

I take out the required amount and gently massage it over my face and neck after my moisturizer.

How is the Packaging?

It comes in a long-tube-shaped bottle with a pump nozzle secured by a cover. The bottle is blended in a completely yellow color and all their products carry a theme of different colors for different products. I find the packaging is safe to travel with and offers a mess-free application.

Whatโ€™s the Fragrance like?

It is mildly scented with super soft notes. The fragrance did not irritate my senses or trigger any allergies.

My Experience with Foxtale Dewy Sunscreen

My Skin Type: Sensitive and acne-prone skin with a history of eczema and allergic-atopic dryness.

I started with sunscreen by using a two-finger amount after I am done with my morning skincare routine which is basically just a moisturizer at the moment and occasionally Klairs Supple toner. I am currently using Cetaphil Moisturizer as it works best for my allergic dryness.

I start by dotting the Foxtale sunscreen all over my face and neck and gently massaging it until it gets absorbed. The texture is lightweight and offers a soft-creamy consistency.

Foxtale Dewy Sunscreen Review SPF70 PA++++ Texture

I found it easy to spread and massage and I did not experience any tackiness or white cast. After the application, I noticed that the sunscreen left a beautiful glow without any heaviness or stickiness. I was impressed by the Foxtale sunscreen at this point. I mean a dewy sunscreen, offering a glowy look, that too without being greasy? Nice! โ€“ So far, so good!

Not ideal for oily skin

That being said, even though the texture and consistency are light and easy on the skin, I wonโ€™t suggest this to anyone other than dry skin. It is not heavy, but ideal for dry skin only.

After a few hours, I noticed that the sunscreen was coming off in peels when I slightly rubbed my face around my jawline or eyebrows. A slight rub and tiny peels were there on my fingers. I literally had to dust my face off to get rid of any pilled-up sunscreen sitting on my face. I continued with the sunscreen and there were days when it did not result in piling up at all. No idea why it pilled up in the first place.

A few days later, I started noticing my face looking dull and I figured out it was the Foxtale sunscreen that was causing the dullness. A similar issue that I experienced with Dr.Sheiths Sunscreen. I still continued with the application and just like the piling-up of the sunscreen, the dullness occurred on an ON and OFF basis.

I stuck to the sunscreen even though it already started to disappoint me but the issues werenโ€™t persistent so I kept using it until I started feeling a slight itch right after application.

Now this was alarming but I also introduced The Ordinary Skin Barrier Repair serum at that point so I wasnโ€™t exactly sure who was the culprit.

Didnโ€™t protect my skin from heat rash

I stopped using the serum to completely focus on the Foxtale Sunscreen and soon I started spotting redness peeking through my skin which was a sign of not enough sun protection for me. I stepped out for my morning walk for the first time with Foxtale Dewy sunscreen on and started feeling a little itch around spots on my face.

Even after the application, I was constantly scratching around my eyebrows, eyes, and high points of my cheek where I often experience a flare-up when my skin is triggered.

I realized Foxtale Dewy Sunscreen wasnโ€™t offering me enough sun protection though that was quite surprising as this was the sunscreen with SPF 70 ++++.

Breaking Down Sunscreen Labels: What SPF, Broad Spectrum, and PA+++ Really Mean

Either the Foxtale sunscreen did not offer enough sun protection or the formulation didnโ€™t really work through my sensitive skin as in the end, there was redness and itchiness.

Contains chemical filters

Foxtale sunscreen does contain chemical filters which might be the reason it did not work out for me. Chemical filters are not really known for suiting sensitive skin.

This was a moment of disappointment for me as I really liked the lightweight texture and cute packaging of the sunscreen but unfortunately, it did not pass for me.

Deconstruct Gel Sunscreen REVIEW: Here is What I Feel

Not for sensitive and acne-prone skin

There are a lot of great reviews from people on Nykaa and Amazon who were looking for a dewy sunscreen but a few also experienced redness similar to mine. If you are one with sensitive skin or atopic dryness and get easily burned under the skin, this might not be your best option.

I was this close to reaching out for a possible collaboration so that I could experience Foxtale skincare and share my reviews but I decided to skip that and buy one for myself. There is a possibility of other Foxtale Skincare products being really good but this kind of experience sets an impression.

Foxtale Sunscreen Review: Final Verdict

Unfortunately, Foxtale Dewy Sunscreen did not work out for me. I liked the lightweight texture initially but it started piling up soon after application and also resulted in the dullness. I started experiencing itching upon application with regular usage and noticed my skin turning red at some points, resulting in either not enough sun protection or the formula not working for my sensitive eczema-prone skin. The only thing I liked about this sunscreen was, that it gives a beautiful dewy appearance without being heavy or sticky on the skin.

Pros

  • Lightweight
  • No heaviness or stickiness
  • No white cast
  • Easy to massage in
  • Ideal for dry skin only

Cons

  • Resulted in dullness
  • Faced slight itchiness upon application
  • Pils-up within a few hours
  • I noticed redness and heat rashes after sun exposure
  • Not enough sun protection for my sensitive eczema skin
  • Not best for sensitive skin
