WishCare Anti-Hairfall Shampoo Review: Made My Hair Rough

wishcare multi peptide shampoo review

Previously, I shared my experience with the WishCare Hair Growth Serum and I received a huge response on that article. I am truly grateful for all your appreciation. 🥹

This time, I am sharing my experience with the WishCare Multi-Peptide Anti Hairfall Shampoo (Sulphate & Paraben Free). I purchased mine from Nykaa and this shampoo has a rating of 4.4 over at Nykaa. Not Bad!

Quick Overview – WishCare Shampoo Review in a Glance

3/5

The consistency of the shampoo is so thick and slimy. As a result, the pump doesn’t work properly. On a regular day, it cleanses well but when I oiled my hair, it couldn’t remove the oil completely even in two washes. It sometimes results in a bit of headache too. I had to take way too much shampoo (multiple pumps) to clean my scalp and hair entirely. I did not experience any allergies. It didn’t cause any hair fall but there wasn’t any reduction in hair fall either. It just didn’t deliver the clean and fresh hair experience.

My hair type: Thick hair. Oily scalp with dry ends. Wavy to curly. Waist length.

What I like about WishCare Multi-Peptide Shampoo?

  • It is Paraben-free, for starters.
  • It did not cause an increase in the hair fall, at least in my case.
  • It did not make my hair feel drier or rough than usual.
  • The shampoo maintained the natural shine of my hair
  • Cleanses well for normal to dry scalp (Not a strong one for excessive oily scalp/ oiled hair)
  • It did not result in any itch or allergy.

What I did not like about this shampoo?

  • Nothing fancy in terms of the results. I did not notice any increase in the shine, softness, or smoothness after the constant use.
  • It did not do anything to improve dry and rough hair texture.
  • The pump doesn’t dispense the product easily probably because of the thick-slimy texture of the shampoo.
  • It did not work when I oiled my hair. It didn’t wash the oil even in the two washes.
  • It doesn’t forms much lather as it is sulphate free but as a result, I had to use 6-7 pumps of the shampoo to cover my waist length thick textured hair.
  • It slightly weighs down my hair.
  • I sometimes experienced a bit of headache too after washing my hair with this shampoo.

Because it couldn’t wash away the oil, I have a strong feeling it might lead to clogged roots for people with excessive oily hair in the long run and as a result, they might experience dandruff, itch, and weak hair. 🤷🏻‍♀️

How I Use

I place the bottle at shelf because the pump is way to hard operate and squeeze out a few pumps lathering between my palms and massaging it all over my wet scalp and hair. Rinsing it off after a good massage followed by a conditioner.

How is the Packaging?

It comes in an opaque bottle with a pump dispense but I had a really bad experience with the pump.

I don’t know if it is a batch issue or the product issue all together but it was a challenge to dispense out the shampoo. I had to place the bottle over at sink and apply full force to pump out the shampoo. Other than that, there wasn’t any packaging flaw.

Notes on Fragrance

Mildly scented with herbal and floral notes. Not at all overpowering. Didn’t trigger my sinus.

Not effective on oiled hair

I had oiled my hair when I first used the shampoo and usually, in fact, every time when I oil my hair, I always wash my hair twice to make sure there is no oily residue left. I did the same with this Wishcare shampoo as well but when I dried my hair I realised my hair isn’t completely oil-free. There is so much of oily residue left.

I went in for my third hair wash with my Godrej quinoa shampoo. Wishcare shampoo failed miserably in washing off the oil even in 2 rounds.

This makes me wonder if it is suitable for people with excessive oily and sweaty scalp in the long run? Won’t it block the hair follicle? Is this a reason people are experiencing scalp bumps after using this shampoo? 👀

Thick consistency

Talking about the texture & consistency, it is off-white in colour, has a glossy look, and has a slimy runny yet thick texture.

Probably because of the consistency, the pump wasn’t able to function properly. The consistency of the liquid needs to be a certain level for the pump to be able to suck it into the pipe and dispense it. It won’t do its job if the liquid is way too thick.

Feels like a slimy paste

Next, it doesn’t form much lather and it feels like I am shampooing my hair with some sort of slimy paste. It only lathers up in that particular portion of my scalp. Which is why, I had to take the shampoo multiple times to cover my waist length hair with thick and curly texture.

It did not result in any hair fall while shampooing and neither it caused any increase in the hair fall with the constant use.

Didn’t cause any hair fall

I don’t have that severe hair fall concern but I do experience it during humid days. The shampoo particularly in my case, did not resulted in any major reduction or increase in the hair fall.

And to be honest, hair fall is majorly connected with our diet and lifestyle. If you have been experiencing heavy hair fall, it might be due to stress, low levels of Vitamin-D, or, overconsumption of packaged food with preservatives, and even sugar including the lab modified ones too.

Additionally, you can include a biotin supplement with a hair growth serum. My personal favourite is Perfectil multivitamin (tried and tested).

My head feels heavy after this shampoo

What I noticed was it gave me heaviness in my head. My head felt heavy after the shampoo. It also weighed down my hair a little so I guess these two are inter linked.

Seeing the results, I feel this shampoo might do a better job for people with fine hair. For my thick hair, the weighing down gave me a headache.

Now, the point is, is it even worth it?

No over the top results

I did not experience any major signs of any betterment. I did not see any increase in the softness, shine, or volume. I mean there was nothing in particular which would make this shampoo my favourite.

I had better results with Nature Spell Shampoo and Conditioner.

So even if the flaws I experienced such as with the pump and the shampoo not being able to wash the oil, are improved in near future, I don’t see myself going towards this shampoo, repurchasing it, or even recommending it as I didn’t experience any over the top results.

No result on hair fall!

As far as the claim of “anti hair fall” goes that too within a week, I didn’t see that happen in my case. Whatever level of hair fall I have, I don’t see any reduction in that after using the Wishcare multi-peptide shampoo.

At the same time, there are people who shared on Reddit that they experienced a major hair fall after using the Wishcare shampoo. Some even experienced itching, acne, and bumps on the scalp. 🤷🏻‍♀️

All and all, WishCare Multi-Peptide Shampoo is a NO from me!

Which is my current favourite shampoo?

Scalpe Pro. Without any doubt!

For an oily scalp like me with a constant exposure to dust to sweat, shampoos that are not able to wash the scalp and hair properly when I oil them, isn’t ideal for me in the long run.

Frequently Asked Questions

👀 Which is the Best Anti Hair Fall Shampoo Out There?

To be honest, and in my experience, there is no shampoo that has a direct impact on reducing the hair fall.

Hair fall is a result, is a sign of multiple things happening in your body. It can be due to increased stress, lack of sleep, low Vitamin-D, a side effect of a life-long medicine, foods with preservatives, alcohol and smoke consumption, low amount of nutritional food, high sugar intake, hormone imbalance, a particular hair care product, and even the quality of drinking and tap water.

A shampoo at most may or may not increase the hair fall but reducing the existing hair fall is a major claim companies make.

Final Thoughts ✍🏻

I am not much impressed with the WishCare anti hair fall shampoo. Starting with the pump being too hard, then the weighing down, to not being able to remove the oil completely, it kept disappointing me.
