Love Beauty Planet Rice Water Shampoo Review: The Best!
For over a year I have been experimenting with different shampoos for my rough and damaged hair ends but nothing worked. And then one day, I casually decided to explore Love Beauty & Planet and I went for their Curls and Waves Rice Water & Angelica Seed Oil range for curly hair and everything changed since then.
Why curls and waves variant? Because the rough and dry appearance of my hair started ever since they turned curly. I didn’t want those gels that end up making your curls crunchy. I wanted something to nourish my curls and make them soft and healthy. And, I am glad I went for Love Beauty and Planet’s curly shampoo.
I don’t know about other variants from this brand but this combo in particular, curls and waves with rice water and angelica seed oil have proven to be a game changer for my hair. In only one wash, it legit transformed my hair!!

It’s a complete package. Leaves my scalp and hair clean and oil-free. No oily residue left behind. Didn’t result in dandruff or hair fall. Keeps my scalp oil-free for days. How did I end up with dry and rough hair?
I always had soft, bouncy, and wavy hair but for over a year or so, my hair started to become curly and ends, especially, started to feel and look super rough. Like, extremely rough and unruly!
I tried Dove Intense Repair, Schwarzkopf Spa Essence Shampoo, WishCare Shampoo, but nothing worked.
When I purchased this combo of Love Beauty & Planet from Nykaa, I wasn’t really expecting much so I ordered masks from Pilgrim and Palmer’s as well because shampoo was just another trial while I had my hopes from the masks.
Before I even used the masks, I only used this curls and waves shampoo and conditioner ONCE, and it transformed my hair. It delivered some fancy salon-like results. 💕
My Experience with Love Beauty & Planet Shampoo for Curly Hair (and Conditioner)
How is the Packaging?
It comes in a squeezable jumbo bottle with a flip-top cap. The cap is a bit tight to operate and can be slightly messy while traveling if it isn’t sealed properly.
How is the Fragrance?
Has a mild garden-like scent. Nothing overpowering or triggering for sinus. I personally liked it. 💕 I ain’t a huge fan of heavy floral scents but this one wasn’t bothersome.
How I Use
- Take a decent amount and lather up nicely onto scalp and covering the ends
- Massage for a while and wash it off
- Followed by conditioner for a minute or two
Shampoo has a jelly-like consistency
I took out a decent amount and noticed the shampoo is transparent in colour and has a soft jelly like consistency.
It lathers okay, not that much, but isn’t one of those non-foaming shampoos either. It forms a decent lather to give a good shampoo experience.

Once done, while washing off I could feel my scalp and hair clean and oil-free. I could tell the shampoo did a great job in cleansing without leaving any oily residue or layer of moisture behind. Unlike Spa Essence shampoo that gave me a feeling that my scalp isn’t fully clean yet. 🙈
Conditioner did a great job in nourishing the strands
Next, I followed up with the conditioner — thick and creamy. The conditioner was easy to spread across the hair strands and wasn’t way too slippery. I left it on for about 2 minutes and washed it off.
The conditioner actually delivered hair mask-like softness. After a really long time I have seen a conditioner giving noticeable results. Before that, I only liked Nature Spell Conditioner or stuck to hair masks.
To be honest, I wasn’t really sure if the conditioner would even deliver the results in only a minute or two but while I was washing off the conditioner, my hair strands felt next-level-soft!
Though these first impressions were only while I was washing off the shampoo and conditioner and I had yet to see the final results, still, I could see the product working.
Treated the rough ends in one wash
My hair ends, though wet, felt super silky and detangled. It looked the shampoo and conditioner in themselves detangled my hair. 😹 All those rough tangled knots, GONE!
And the most important thing, I did not experience any hair fall while shampooing or after washing.
Next, I had to see how my hair looks once dried.
I dried my hair using my Airwrap followed by L’Oreal extraordinary oil serum and there it was, smooth, soft, bouncy, and nourished hair with no sign of heaviness, dryness, or greasiness. The texture of my hair and the ends felt smooth and soft.
I am surprised how even in just one wash, it treated the rough texture without causing any hair fall.
My scalp felt so fresh and clean! Plus, my hair and scalp stayed oil-free for at least 3 days, even in the peak humid season. All this without drying up the hair. 🥹
