Product Description
With 30% alpha hydroxy acids (glycolic/lactic/tartaric/citric), 2% beta hydroxy acid (salicylic acid), hyaluronic acid crosspolymer, vitamin b5, black carrot, and Tasmanian pepper berry
Alpha hydroxy acids (AHA) exfoliate the skin’s topmost surface for a brighter and more even appearance. Beta hydroxy acids (BHA) also exfoliate the skin with an extended function to help clear pore congestion. This combined 30% AHA and 2% BHA solution offers deeper exfoliation to help fight visible blemishes and improve skin radiance. The formula also enhances the appearance of skin texture and reduces the look of fine lines with continued use.
This formula contains a studied Tasmanian Pepperberry derivative to help reduce irritation associated with acid use. This derivative is of plant origin and varies in color seasonally and this color variation may be apparent in the formula from time to time. This formula is further supported with a crosspolymer form of hyaluronic acid for comfort, Vitamin B5 to assist healing, and black carrot as an antioxidant.

The Ordinary Peeling Solution: Packaging and Fragrance
My Skin Type: Combination to Oily in Summer, Dry in Winter, Sensitive, and Acne-Prone Skin
Packaging: It comes in a translucent bottle with a dropper cap with a label informing about the product and directions. I find it completely safe for travel as I recently packed The Ordinary Salicylic Acid with me on my trip to Udaipur.
It further comes in an outer box which I store for months for no reason.
Fragrance: It has a strong acidic thing. I won’t exactly call this fragrance it is just how acids feel when you sniff them.
My Experience with The Ordinary AHA 30% + BHA 20% Peeling Solution
Though this is the first time I tried my hands on The Ordinary Peeling Solution, I have been aware of the fact that is not just another skincare product. You need to be careful and aware of this product and what it does since it has a very high concentration of free acid as suggested by the Brand also.
In simple words, a peeling solution is a mix of AHAs and BHAs which help in exfoliating the skin. It helps in treating those tiny little bumps, clogged pores, and blemishes. I wasn’t much of a fan of peeling solutions until I tried The Ordinary AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution. That is when I realized what a peeling solution is capable of.
All this time I wondered if this is an exfoliating step then what is so different with the regular exfoliators like our age-old St.Ives. I didn’t realize the peeling solution is a whole other game on a whole other level until I tried it by myself. The results are so different that you become habitual of it and can not go back to not using it. At least this is the case with me.

The day I tried The Ordinary Peeling Solution after I cleaned my face, I noticed a heavy tingling sensation. I know that it is a good sign and that was a sweet pain lol. The areas around my nose and upper lips felt the most amount of weird sensation. It took me a minute but it was all settled later.
As suggested by the Brand, I left the solution for about 10 minutes and rinsed it off with normal-temperature water. While washing it off, I felt my skin literally breathing. It was like my pores feeling the air. I ain’t kidding it felt so fresh and new that I don’t exactly have the words.
Initially, I didn’t see any changes. My skin looked the same but felt so different and fresh. After using it regularly for about a month, twice a week, I started to see really good results. Those tiny bumps started to disappear. The texture of my skin started to improve. There was overall clarity because my pores started to get rid of the clogged oil and debris. I could see how The Ordinary peeling solution gave my skin a weekly treatment sort of thing.
I didn’t realize what my skin was holding until the solution started to give me results. It isn’t something like an overnight magic treatment for your skin. It becomes a part of the routine and works wonderfully over the course of time.
All those tiny oil heads I was concerned about, the textured skin which was actually just trapped oil and dirt, the damage due to pollution and dust, everything sort of corrects with The Ordinary Peeling Solution.
I now legit feel excited to use this every Wednesday and Sunday night. I love the tingling sensation, I love how my skin feels and I love how it works on my skin.
Being a sensitive and acne-prone skin person, I didn’t notice any breakouts or allergies. It is a part of my skincare routine now.
UPDATE (11th September 2023): I have recently developed allergies to dust and dairy resulting in eczema flare-ups. As a result, my skin barrier became weak, and every time I use a peeling solution, it somehow triggers my eczema symptoms and I end up with inflammation and redness. If you are someone with compromised skin, do not consider going for AHA/BHA Peels.
Can the ordinary peeling solution be used on acne?
While the peeling solution can help improve the overall texture and appearance of the skin, it may not be specifically formulated to target acne. Acne is a complex skin condition that requires a comprehensive approach involving suitable cleansers, treatments, and moisturizers. Plus, using the peeling solution while you have active acne might worsen it.
Summing Up
The Ordinary peeling solution is a must-have product. Over time, it helps to treat tiny little bumps, clogged oil, and dirt, the damage due to pollution and basically helps with everything your skin goes from every single day. Post-using, my skin feels fresh and renewed, and ready to take over the week. Didn’t result in breakouts however, it did trigger my eczema later-on.

Hi,
Are you still using Ordinary peel solution?
If yes, any side effects now?
Hi
I rarely use it now as ever since I developed dairy and dust allergies my skin has become super sensitive and reacts easily to products. The peel used to work great for me but after allergies, it only triggers redness and rashes. My skincare now consists hydrating and moisturising products only. 🙂
