St.Ives Energizing Coconut and Coffee Scrub Review

The reason I picked St.Ives Energizing Coconut and Coffee Scrub is that I already had a great experience with their Apricot Variant and I was missing a good deep exfoliator in my routine. I am someone who loves deep exfoliators and St.Ives is the Brand that comes to my mind first when it comes to scrub, a really good scrub.
I have been using St. Ives Energizing Coconut and Coffee Scrub for enough long to share what I feel about this. If you have been looking for St. Ives’s energizing scrub review, you are on the right page.

Key Ingredient
Crushed walnut shell powder is the gentle-yet-effective secret behind many St.Ives scrubs. They take pride in ensuring the walnut shell powder in their scrubs is finely milled and polished so that each particle has a smooth surface. This ensures their scrubs only provide exfoliation to the outer layers of dead skin cells and do not damage your skin.

Review – St.Ives Energizing Coconut and Coffee Scrub
My Skin Type: Combination to Oily in Summers, Dry in Winters, Sensitive, and Acne-Prone Skin
Packaging: Comes in an opaque squeezable tube with a flip-flop cap and a nozzle to dispense the product. Completely user-friendly and easy-to-use packaging.
Fragrance: Slightly on a sweeter side as it feels like a mix of coffee (with sugar) and coconut. Feels a bit heavy for a few seconds but later settles in.
My Experience
I start by taking a decent amount onto my palm, spreading it between my palms, and gently start exfoliating my face with it with no harsh motions or pressure. Nice and gentle. I like to consider exfoliating an experience of being completely calm and in no rush.

The particles feel deep enough to provide a great exfoliating experience without poking or hurting my skin. I even enjoyed the ratio of cream and particles. I like it when particles are in enough quantity so that it doesn’t feel like a cream only. If I compare the particles with that apricot variant, I feel that was slightly on the deeper side while in this coconut and coffee one, the cream is also playing its role.
The exfoliating factor and experience are very similar to Palmer’s Coconut Scrub. The density, texture, and feel of the skin are almost the same as that of Palmer’s.
Once I am done, I wash off with lukewarm water or regular temperature water depending on the weather. While washing off, I always feel this cleansed softness on my skin which is so relaxing.
Next, I always follow up with my Aveeno moisturizer.
Every time I exfoliate my skin with this St.Ives Energizing Coconut and Coffee Scrub, there is definitely, a noticeable amount of result. While exfoliating, the granules feel relaxing on the skin. They aren’t sharp or heavy. Just about right. I could actually hear those tiny granules on my forehead lol!
The texture is actually very fine yet dense. The granules are so fine that it doesn’t end up hurting my skin and being so dense in quantity, they actually work pretty well.
It does exfoliate my face resulting in smooth and plumped-up skin. While applying moisturizer I always feel this freshness and softness that you get after a fresh exfoliation. Like, writing on a fresh new blank paper.
My skin definitely looks fresh in terms of brightness and even after being a deep exfoliator, it doesn’t dry up my skin. Every time I look in the mirror post-exfoliation, there is this clean freshness that I really find satisfying.
My skin doesn’t feel too dry or stretchy and neither too moisturized nor heavy after this scrub. My skin feels soft, fresh, awake, breathable, clean, and glowing.
There is some sort of coolness that I feel after this scrub as it has washed off the tense heat.
I see no results on the blackheads though but as far as the skin texture and overall experience, it is definitely a good one. I feel my skin around the nose and on the chin where you can easily feel the bumps, a lot more smooth and exfoliated.
It is energizing and refreshing for sure and if you are using it in summer or when you are feeling your skin all sweaty, oily, or dull, you are definitely going to enjoy this scrub.
Coming to if it worked on my sensitive skin then it is a 100% yes, it worked without reaching or clogging up the pores.
Despite being a great scrub and checking all the factors, it might not come at par with that apricot variant because of the fragrance factor. For me personally, it is a teeny-tiny bit on a sweet coffee-ish side and I think their lemon and mandarin one will really impress me a lot.
But again, the fragrance is something an individual connects differently with it. A lot of people actually connected with this because of the fragrance. They enjoy this sweet espresso kind of fragrance.
We all know how much coffee is good for the skin and for that reason, it is a very good option for the body too a lot of people actually do use this St.Ives Energizing Coconut and Coffee Scrub as a body scrub too.
It is neither too creamy nor too poky which makes it really a great option for all skin types.
In case you are having active, painful, cystic acne, I won’t suggest you go for it because it is a deep exfoliator and it might hurt the inflamed skin.
Summing Up
St.Ives Energizing Coconut and Coffee Scrub is a pretty refreshing scrub. It is a deep exfoliator and I love the balance between cream and granule density. Exfoliation feels relaxing on the skin and it leaves my skin feeling fresh, awake, and bright. My skin definitely feels soft and supple to touch and I love how breathable my skin feels. Doesn’t clog pores and suits my sensitive skin. A great exfoliation experience.

Ooo I love St Ives scrubs. I’ve not come across the coconut & coffee version but I wouldn’t mind trying it if the coconut smell isn’t too sickly/overpowering. Sounds like it’s just initially then isn’t too bad. It’s a shame these scrubs don’t do anything for blackheads. I’ve tried sooooo many things, including products supposedly targeted at blackheads, and none ever do anything. Still, these scrubs are great for rejuvenating your skin a bit and leaving your face feeling cleaner and more refreshed. Fab review! 🙂
