OOTD Beauty Vitamin C Serum Review – In this article, I will share my experience with the OOTD Vitamin C serum range, which is their face and eye serum. I will also be talking about my experience with their sheet masks. I received these products as a part of PR and if you have been looking for OOTD Vitamin C serum product reviews, you are on the right page.

OOTD Beauty is a Korean Skincare Brand and is now available in India. I have been using OOTD Vitamin C-based face serum and eye serum for almost a month now and I am all set to share my review.

I had my experiences with Vitamin C serums. Some did exceptionally well like Deconstruct while others disappointed me like BeBodywise.

Vitamin C Serum is an integral part of my skincare routine. Having sensitive, eczema, and acne-prone skin it is extremely difficult for me to find products that work for my skin type.

My Skin Type: Before I dive into the review, let me share more about my skin. I have sensitive and acne-prone skin. I have been an oily skin person but I developed some allergies in my late 20s which resulted in severe dryness and dehydration. As a result, I developed eczema and used to have flare-ups every now and then. My skin at this point is a lot better (touchwood) as I avoid all possible triggers and products that can irritate my skin.

Ingredients

Water, Isopentyldiol, Glycerin, 1,2-Hexanediol, Butylene Glycol, Betaine, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Ascorbic Acid, Sodium Citrate, Tromethamine, Ethylhexylglycerin, Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate, Propanediol, Polyglyceryl-10 Laurate, Disodium EDTA, Sodium Hyaluronate, Hippophae Rhamnoides Fruit Extract, Beta-Glucan, Ascorbyl Glucoside.

How to Use

After cleansing the face, apply a pea-sized amount onto skin areas. Tap and massage lightly until the serum is absorbed.

My Experience with OOTD Vitamin C Face Serum

First thing first, the packaging. It comes in a see-through glass bottle with a pump dispenser. The dispenser works absolutely fine and causes no mess. The bottle feels like a heavy-duty one and is easy to store and use.

Talking about the fragrance, it doesn’t exactly smell citrusy, instead has some medicated alcohol-like scent to it. Although I don’t feel it much while applying only when I sniff. It does say fragrance-free which is a good thing.

I start by taking a few drops onto my palm and gently tapping it all over my face and neck. I use the serum only in the daytime as at night, I either use glycolic acid toner or my retinol serum.

The consistency of the serum is not exactly like water which made me wonder if it is going to feel sticky after application but to my surprise, it was absorbed quickly without leaving any stickiness or tackiness behind.

The serum did not leave my face feeling heavy or greasy at all. I do feel it has some instant hydrating properties as my dry skin felt slightly soothed right after application. I followed up with my moisturizer and sunscreen and it did not feel heavy on the skin even after layering up with rich moisturizers like Cetaphil.

I continued to use this serum for about a month and what I could notice was the increase in hydration levels and the visible brightening up of my skin. There was a noticeable glow and my skin felt bouncy and supple to touch.

My face appeared a lot more glowy and brighter after regular usage. I did not notice anything for about a week or two. It took about 28-30 days to start showing results.

Talking about its effectiveness on acne marks. Now, I don’t know if it is probably due to the brightening effect, but the appearance of the marks looked slightly reduced.

I feel the OOTD Vitamin C serum is slow when it comes to working on marks because after 30 days or so I started noticing a slight reduction in the appearance of marks. It did not completely fade them away but minimized the intensity.

No doubt, the OOTD Vitamin C serum worked great in terms of hydration and brightening.

Talking about how OOTD Vitamin C serum worked on my sensitive skin. The serum did not cause any redness or rashes. However, I do feel that it resulted in clogged pores that further lead to acne.

I don’t know if it is because of the presence of alcohol-based ingredients (humectants) in more quantity than Ascorbic Acid that my skin couldn’t handle and resulted in clogged pores but a few areas on my skin did look clogged.

If your skin reacts to dust or mites or if you have had experience with products like Hyaluronic Acid or Snail Mucin giving you clogged pores and breakouts then you might probably face the same issue as the ingredients have more amounts of humectants as they appear first in the list, otherwise you going to like it for its hydrating, glowing, and brightening properties.

Final Thoughts about OOTD Beauty Vitamin C Face Serum

OOTD Vitamin C Serum is true to its claim of brightening and glowing. My skin felt noticeably hydrated, supple, and bright. When it comes to acne marks, there was a slight reduction in appearance but only after regular usage for about 30 days or so. It takes time but did reduce the intensity of the marks. However, a few areas of my face developed clogged pores and acne but I did not face any rashes or redness.

  • Squeeze out a pea-sized amount from the tube onto the tip of a finger.
  • Use a finger to gently tap along the orbital bone each morning.
  • Repeat this process for each eye.
  • Apply moisturizer after the serum is fully absorbed by the skin.

My Experience with OOTD Vitamin C Eye Serum

Talking about the packaging, it comes in a squeezable tube with a pump dispenser further secured by a transparent cap. The pump works completely fine and dispenses the right amount of product without causing any mess.

Coming to fragrance, it does have some mild refreshing scent but I did not find it irritating or triggering at all.

I used the OOTD Vitamin Eye Serum not only in the morning as suggested by the Brand but throughout the day, every time my eyes felt tired. Why? Because I loved the lightweight gel-based texture.

Every time I felt my eyes were strained due to screen work, I used the eye serum as a refreshment and it genuinely instantly provided relief to my tired eyes.

It did not sting or cause any allergies. I further noticed that my under-eye area felt a lot more nourished and soothed over time.

Talking about the effectiveness of dark circles, I definitely noticed some improvement in the appearance of dark circles within a week but that faded quickly every time I had more screen time or disturbed sleep routine.

In my case, I have dark circles by birth so I do not expect an eye cream or a serum to completely fade away dark circles but if an eye product helps with the nourishment of the delicate skin under the eyes and soothes the tired eyes, that’s a WIN for me.

I keep using the OOTD Vitamin C eye serum multiple times a day and it feels so comforting and relaxing simply because of the gel-based texture.

Final Thoughts about OOTD Beauty Vitamin C Eye Serum

I genuinely liked the OOTD Vitamin C Eye Serum. It did show results by reducing the appearance of dark circles although it was temporary as there were days when my sleep schedule was affected resulting in an increase in the appearance of dark circles. What I like about the eye serum most is the refreshing gel-based texture and how it makes under eye area a lot more nourished and soothed.

I used the eye serum multiple times a day, especially after screen time and it immediately provided relief to my tired eyes. It did not sting or result in watery eyes. Worked for me.

What about the OOTD Beauty Sheet Masks?

I personally love using sheet masks as no matter what the primary feature of sheet masks is, they are always hydrating and result in highly nourished skin.

I used their Cica Soothing mask and these masks are loaded with serum. I used the mask right after I washed my face and kept it on for about 20 minutes.

After 20 minutes, I took out the mask, and my face looked visibly plumped. I did not use any other serum or moisturizer. Just this mask intensely hydrated my skin.

My skin was legit glowing and not only my skin felt nourished but it looked plump and healthy. I did not notice any burning sensation or itch.

I do not witness the same results with every sheet mask I have used in the past. Some were not hydrating enough and some lacked the amount of serum. But this, to be honest, was a complete packaging. The way my skin was glowing is like I have seen on Korean people.

There was no heaviness or stickiness and even after hours my skin still looked glowy and hydrated.

I simply loved the OOTD Sheet Masks.

Final Thoughts on OOTD Beauty Sheet Masks

I think Sheet Masks from OOTD are my personal favorite. My dehydrated skin loved the results and they made my skin highly nourished and glowing. My sensitive skin did not face any breakouts and the mask did not cause any stickiness. The hydration and glow stayed even after hours.
