Cosrx Snail Mucin Essence Review – I have been seeing Cosrx Snail Mucin Essence all over the Internet. Literally, everyone seems to be raving about it be it on reels or shorts. While shopping from Nykaa, I decided to buy Cosrx advanced snail 96 mucin power essence.

I thought of getting this essence because ever since I started eczema flare-ups, my skin has gotten so dry and I am all into hydrating and nourishing products now. I have been using the snail mucin essence for a while now and I am excited to share my experience with you.

Review – Cosrx Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence

My Skin Type: Dry skin due to eczema-prone skin, sensitive, and acne-prone skin.

Packaging: It comes in a see-through bottle with pump packaging. Easy to store, use, and travel-friendly. The label doesn’t have any information so you might want to store the outer box for the details. The product does have expiry printed but it is the kind of print that fades off over time.

Fragrance: None as such

My Experience with Cosrx Snail Mucin Essence

I started using the essence day and night, right after my face wash. I take about 2-3 pumps and gently tap it over my face until it’s fully absorbed. I like the fact that the pump dispenses a decent amount so you don’t overdo the product.

The consistency is exactly how you would expect when there is a word snail associated with it. It has a slimy texture but goes easily on the skin. It didn’t make my skin feel sticky after the application.

It took me a few minutes but after the gentle taps on the face, it was absorbed pretty well. Next, I followed with my moisturizer and sunscreen. Right after the application, I did feel like it soothed the dryness and left my skin glowing but that effect only lasted for an hour or even less than the hour.

I continued this routine for a while but I didn’t notice any change in my skin’s hydration level. With regular usage, I do feel that it adds up a glassy glow to my skin but that glow faded away the day I skipped the essence.

My brother who has oily skin used this COSRX Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence as the only thing while going out without any additional layer of moisturizer for a few days and noticed it works more on the appearance of the skin rather than actually hydrating the skin from within. As I said, the glow becomes noticeable after a few usages but that again is only temporary and not a long-term result.

My Klairs supple toner is 100 times better than Cosrx snail mucin essence. That toner actually works on dryness, improves skin texture, and results in supple skin. I have used this COSRX Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence for a while now and no results.

I decided to explore a little and see what people have been saying about it and realized a lot of people felt the same way. It didn’t do anything for them and feels like an overpriced and overhyped product.

I didn’t experience any allergies but I did notice a few breakouts and the reason is probably my skin rejecting humectants. The same reason Hyaluronic Serums don’t really do well for me. If your skin reacts to dust, there is a possibility snail mucins or hyaluronic acid won’t work for me and end up clogging pores.

Does Cosrx snail mucin essence actually work?

From my experience, no, it did not do anything for me. It does add a glass-skin-like glow after regular usage but that feels temporary and fades away when I skip the essence. Other than that, I didn’t notice any benefit or change in terms of hydration.
