Olay Micro-Sculpting Cream Review – My Complete Experience
Disclaimer: Product received as a part of PR. Opinions are my own and unbiased.

Olay Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Cream is probably the most expensive face cream I have ever tried. Although this is a PR from Nykaa, but, I value the product irrespective of the fact that it’s either PR or self-purchased.
Face creams were never really a part of my skincare routine because they always end up causing acne. My preference has always been a combination of serums and a moisturizer.
This time, I was really impressed. Now I see the hype and craze for Olay. I casually started using the cream without any expectations as such and I was genuinely impressed with the overnight results and how it made my skin look. But, it ain’t all flowers and cakes here.
In this article, I will be sharing my detailed product review of Olay Micro-sculpting cream, the good and the bad, – everything.

Olay Micro-sculpting Cream Review in a Glance
4.5/5
The cream legit works in terms of enhancing the visual appearance of skin. My skin looked noticeably radiant and more plump that too right after application. With regular use, I couldn’t tell much long-term difference on my skin but it showed noticeable results on a deeper level on my Mother’s mature skin. Her skin looked a lot more firm with settled fine lines. Unfortunately, I got breakouts because my skin doesn’t do well with Hyaluronic Acid otherwise, I really loved it for its results.

Review in Detail: Olay Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Cream
My Skin Type: Combination, sensitive, and acne-prone skin with a history of eczema and allergic dryness. My skin reacts easily to dust and pollution resulting in rashes and acne.
Packaging
It comes in a beautiful luxurious glass jar with a red theme and shiny silver screw cap. Easy to store and use. Though, jar packaging often gets contaminated and doesn’t really work for my sensitive skin.
Fragrance
A typical cosmetic face cream scent. Not bad though.

I started using the cream day and night as suggested by the Brand after my face wash. At first, I didn’t really use any Vitamin-C serum because I had no idea how the cream would react. It says “micro-sculpting” so it definitely ain’t something normal. 😹
I don’t know why at Nykaa the description says Day cream. It does not contain SPF and can be easily used day and night and that’s what is suggested by the Brand itself.
Okay, moving forward.
Skin looks radiant right after application
When I started using the cream, I was ready to invest time and patiently wait for the results and what this cream does but what a product it is, it showed me its effectiveness within a few uses.
Right after my first application, my skin legit looked radiant. Not just glowing, but there was radiance and it made my skin look so rich.
After carefully examining the texture of the cream, I notice a very minute shimmer sort of particles. They weren’t a problem as such as the shimmer doesn’t directly show up in an uncomfortable manner. I think that’s the reason my skin looked radiant and plumped right after application.

I felt a minor itch after each application
One thing I noticed was a minor itch, a very minor itch on a few areas right after application. There was not any redness or rashes but every time I applied the cream, a few random points on my face used to itch for a few seconds.
In my opinion, the cream has enough nourishing properties. I did not have to use my Cetaphil moisturizer with this Olay cream. It is not a thick or heavy textured cream but it is not a lightweight or gel-based cream either.
For oily skin, it is ideal as a night cream only
Oily skin people might find the consistency and the feel of the skin a bit on the heavier side so I would advise them to use it at night only to avoid any possible sweating. Not that it is heavy as Nivea SPF50 sunscreen but it still is not a lightweight option for oily skin.
I noticed visible results in terms of radiance and skin’s appearance
I am not exaggerating when I say this, but right after application, my skin did feel plump. With my moisturizers, my skin looks healthy and glowy. With this Olay Regenerist, my skin looked radiant and plump.
There is definitely a strong science going on with this cream but it ain’t just a simple face cream.
It legit made my skin look rich. 🙈
Even my Mother, who has a dry skin type noticed the radiance and plumpness this face cream gives. Unbeatable!
Now, this cream doesn’t directly affect the skin texture. I think it has more to do with the visual appearance of the skin.
With regular usage, for over a month or so, I felt it was not doing anything to my skin on a deeper level. Like, I did not notice any long-term benefits of using the cream.
More suitable for people with mature skin
Probably, it is more ideal for people with a lot of mature skin say 45+ but in my case (I am 29 right now), I couldn’t comment on any deeper level or long-term changes.
It was like, the day I stopped using the cream, everything looked back to the usual.
In simpler words, Olay Regenerist Micro-Sculpting cream has to be your constant if you want to keep up with the results, especially the visual radiance.
Delivers noticeable results on 45+ skin
Talking about reducing wrinkles, I can only say this from my Mother’s point of view, I think this cream was more beneficial for her than me. I noticed her skin looked a lot more firm with reduced tiny fine lines around her cheeks with regular usage.
On my Mother’s mature skin, the results were clearly noticeable. Olay Regenerist definitely does its “anti-aging” part on mature skin.
But, as I said above, it has to be a part of your skincare routine on a repeat basis if you want to keep up with the results.
Unfortunately, I got acne because my skin reacts with Hyaluronic Acid
Talking about how it worked for my sensitive and acne-prone skin, now I don’t think the problem is the formula here but the fact that my skin doesn’t respond well to hyaluronic acid which is why my skin ended up with acne and breakouts after a month-long usage.
Usually, I would develop acne in a week or so if the product wasn’t working for me but in this case, I started noticing breakouts after 20-30 days and one other reason I could think of is that the product got contaminated due to jar packaging.
There is no other way I would get acne from a cream after a month of usage.
If the fragrance of the formulation had reacted to my skin, I would have developed acne in a week after using Olay.
I am pretty sure the breakouts were either due to my skin’s intolerance to humectants, in this case, the Hyaluronic Acid, or that jar packaging which I personally don’t find hygienic.
Other than this, I did not get any rashes or redness and neither it triggered my eczema.
Frequently Asked Questions
1. Can I use Olay Micro-Sculpting Cream at night?
Yes. This one doesn’t include any SPF so it can be worn at night in fact, my mother use Olay every night as part of her night time skincare routine.
2. Does Olay Micro-Sculpting Cream work?
Definitely. I can say it for sure with real results on mine and on my mother’s skin. I can’t say for other Olay products at the moment, but this regenerist micro sculpting cream definitely works in terms of improving the appearance of skin.
Final Thoughts: Olay Micro-Sculpting Cream
The cream works like a miracle, no doubt. It instantly made my skin look a lot more radiant, plump, and rich. I mean the results are definitely noticeable. Although, more visually rather than on a deeper level. But, I noticed much more positive results on my Mother’s mature skin where I actually noticed her skin becoming firmer a regular use. I unfortunately got acne due to my skin’s intolerance to Hyaluronic acid but other than that, I think it is a really good face cream for mature skin that delivers legit visible results.
Pros
- My skin looked radiant and plump instantly
- Has generous nourishing properties
- Works better for mature skin (45+)
- On mature skin, results are clearly visible in terms of firmer and youthful-looking skin

- Might not be worth it for people in their 20s or 30s
