Hyphen Barrier Care Cream Review: Gave Me Breakouts

Hyphen Barrier Care Cream Review

I have been waiting to try Hyphen products for such a long time and this cream is the first product I tried from this Brand. Hyphen is the Brand owned by Kriti Sanon. I really like her personality and her Brand gives the same positive energy, especially from the packaging.

Hyphen Barrier Care Cream Review In a Glance

I like the fact that the cream is not heavy in texture and doesn’t make my skin oily and sweaty. But, it was not hydrating enough and I had to re-apply frequently. It brings on a glow but unfortunately, it clogs the pores. I’ll rate it 4/5.

Why I am giving it a 4/5 rating?

Yes, it did end up causing acne and requires multiple applications throughout the day but if you don’t have acne-prone skin, then you are really going to like this moisturizer. It is not heavy or sticky, leaves skin soft, glowy, and supple, and is ideal for normal to dry skin in the summer season.

Hyphen’s simple yet unique packaging caught my attention and the green theme they used, I simply loved it. I don’t know the exact name of this green shade but it is just so soothing!

Ever since eczema happened my entire skincare routine switched to hydrating and nourishing products specially formulated for dry skin that is why I got myself the dry skin variant with ceramides and peptides.

I have been using Hyphen Moisturizer for some time now and I am all set to share my experience. If you have been looking for the Hyphen Barrier care cream review, you are on the right page.

Hyphen Barrier Care Cream – What Does the Brand Claim?

That one MOISTURIZER your skin needs as it rebuilds the skin’s outermost layer – the barrier that guards it from dirt, dust, pollution, and the sun’s harmful rays. Its texture is so lightweight that it saves your pores from getting clogged.

As mentioned on the Hyphen website.

Thoughts on Packaging

Absolutely in love with the packaging. It comes in a glass-kind material. I don’t know if it is exactly glass but it is a solid and heavy-duty material. Comes with a pump dispenser which is again designed in such a way that provides mess-free use of the product. The bottle itself has all the details mentioned including ingredients and expiry date. Safe to store and travel with.

Fragrance

I have a blocked nose now, so if I am sniffing the product, I smell nothing. But I do remember when I first used it, there was a beautiful scent that was not at all irritating. I have allergies so if it passes for me, it will definitely pass for you.

My Experience with Hyphen Moisturizer

My Skin Type: Sensitive and acne-prone skin with eczema/atopic dryness.

I started by taking 3 to 4 pumps as it dispenses a very tiny amount in a single pump and I gently pat it all over my face. The texture felt soft and lightweight upon application yet moisturizing enough to nourish my dry skin.

It immediately added a boost of hydration and it kind of reminded me of Efatop Moisturizer. That too had this water-like feel to it. I loved how my skin appeared after applying the moisturizer. It looked hydrated, supple, soft, and bouncy. Not kidding!

The texture is lightweight and non-sticky

The consistency is exactly how the name appears, creamy. Neither runny nor thick. I liked how it moisturized my skin without making it greasy. I further followed up with my Undry Sunscreen and it still did not feel heavy on the skin.

My skin actually looked hydrated and plumped post-application so its claim of a visibly plump look was true in my experience.

I could see my skin reflecting a subtle hydrated glow with the regular usage.

Clogged up the pores

That being said, with regular usage, I did notice tiny clogged pores around the jawline and on the cheeks. I did not face any reaction or cystic painful acne but I definitely spotted tiny clogged pores. Those colorless tiny dot-size bumps cause no pain but can lead to acne if not treated.

Talking about moisturizing properties, even though it moisturizes my dry skin very well leaving no sign of dryness. I still feel that after a few hours, my skin demands re-application. So I either re-applied the same Hyphen barrier care cream or went with my cetaphil cream.

Had to re-apply multiple times a day

Hyphen cream itself says it is for normal to dry skin so I being a very dry skin person especially since the eczema happened, couldn’t get enough nourishment in one time application. Even though I had to re-apply it multiple times a day, I still liked the texture against my skin and I can not ignore the glow it brings on. Wish it did not lead to those tiny clogged pores.

Obviously, I can not consider when I have an eczema flare-up because that phase in itself is an intense case of dryness but in general days, I think I like having Hyphen cream in my skincare routine.

Neude Skincare Review โ€“ Moisturizer, Sunscreen, and Eye Cream

It doesn’t mention anything about being free from any of the dangerous ingredients and I am no expert with ingredients. You never know what reacts to your skin. The same happened with The Ordinary Soothing and Barrier Repair serum. Everyone on the internet was praising it but it broke my skin causing a severe rash.

It can be used at both times, day and night but if I am using it day, I prefer to use my Cetaphil during the night to provide intense nourishment to my skin during the night time.

It is ideal for people with dry skin in general but if you are looking to get Hyphen barrier care cream to treat your severe dryness, this ain’t for you.

Hyphen Barrier Care Cream: Final Thoughts

As much as I loved the packaging, the soft lightweight texture, and the glow it brings on, I couldn’t make Hyphen Barrier Care Cream a part of my routine as it ended up clogging the pores. It did not react but continuing further could turn those clogged pores into acne. I loved how it leaves my skin โ€“ soft, supple, and hydrated but within hours, the skin feels dry again. Not for sensitive and acne-prone skin.

Pros

  • Lightweight
  • Soft creamy texture
  • Leaves skin soft, supple, and hydrated
  • Moisturizes my dry skin without being sticky
  • Soothes dryness immediately
  • Results in plumped look
  • Brings on a noticeable glow
  • Ideal for normal to dry skin
  • Easy-to-use packaging

Cons

  • Not moisturizing enough for very dry skin or for the winter season
  • Re-application is required multiple times a day
  • This resulted in tiny clogged pores/colorless bumps
  • Not ideal for acne-prone skin
