Cetaphil Daily Advance Ultra Hydrating Lotion Review

Cetaphil Daily Advance Ultra Hydrating Lotion Review

Cetaphil is a Brand that anyone with Sensitive skin can trust without any second doubts. Cetaphil moisturizers have saved my skin so many times whenever I faced seasonal dryness. They are not constant though as I have combination-oily skin throughout the year and Cetaphil is more on the rich side.

The reason I bought Cetaphil Daily Advance Ultra Hydrating Lotion is that I have been facing a bit of dryness lately due to multiple reasons. The season is changing, pollution, acne products, and the fact that I am turning 27 is also affecting my skin in some way.

I am now feeling more inclined towards more mild and hydrating products. In fact, I recently bought Minimalist Oat Face Wash despite having the Minimalist Salicylic Acid Face Wash at home because I feel my skin needs hydration now at every step in skincare.

I and my mother both have been using Cetaphil Daily Advance Ultra Hydrating Lotion for some time now and I am all set to share my experience with you all. She is a dry skin person by the way. So whether you are an oily skin person or a dry skin one, this article will help you for sure.

Review – Cetaphil Daily Advance Ultra Hydrating Lotion

My Skin Type: Combination-Oily in Summer, Dry in Winter, Sensitive, and Acne-Prone Skin

Packaging: Comes in a squeezable opaque tube with an easy-to-use flip-flop cap, having a nozzle to dispense in the product. The consistency is thick which makes it mess-free and easy to travel with. It further comes in an outer box. Though the details such as expiry date and ingredients can be found on the tube as well.

Fragrance: It doesn’t have a fragrance as such. Just a slight hint of something which I can’t put my finger on but is definitely not overpowering or bothering. Far better than the Cetaphil Moisturizing Lotion.

My Experience

Cetaphil is known as a brand that caters to dry and sensitive skin. People with an extreme case of dryness, dry skin in general, dry patches, flakiness, or dryness as a result of a skin problem, often benefited from Cetaphil Products.

The reason I pick Cetaphil products is that I have sensitive skin and it helps my skin every time it feels dry. Recently, I have been feeling a de-hydrated sort of texture in my skin and I could feel that my skin is demanding more hydrating and nourishing products.

My past experience with Cetaphil products has always been “temporarily good”. Meaning they only worked for me when I had dryness and pretty soon they started to feel heavy and too rich for my skin which is why they are never a constant in my skincare routine.

I purchased Cetaphil Daily Advance Ultra Hydrating Lotion for two reasons. First, my mother has very dry skin and she loves Cetaphil for her skin I was also facing a bit of dryness due to medications and seasonal changes. I thought let’s try a new one from Cetaphil which will serve both, my mother and me and will help me to create more content for my blog.

I have been using Cetaphil Daily Advance Ultra Hydrating Lotion for quite some time now and I am impressed. The way this lotion gives a boost of moisture to my skin is simply incredible and my skin actually stays nourished for the whole day.

I take the required amount, spread it between my palm, and press gently across my whole face followed by a soft-gentle massage in a circular motion for a few seconds and oh, it felt so good. Like my thirsty skin is finally getting some nourishment.

If I had used this lotion or moisturizer before, way back in my early 20s, I would have definitely skipped this as I was not a fan of rich ultra moisturizers. I used to find them really heavy for my skin and my face used to turn all dull and oily within hours but now my skin is in a different situation and I have been loving the rich ultra-hydrated feeling.

It instantly adds a heavy amount of nourishment and I actually found it pretty soothing. It got absorbed by my skin leaving a beautiful healthy nourished glow without making my face look dull and oily. I could legit feel the intense amount of nourishment but that was something I enjoyed for my skin.

The dryness I have been facing started to heal and I quite enjoyed having Cetaphil Daily Advance Ultra Hydrating Lotion in my skincare routine. I use this after my salicylic acid or a vitamin c serum as a final step both day and night.

During day time, I also used my Episoft sunscreen on top of Cetaphil lotion. But that routine lasted only a few weeks as Episoft itself has moisturizing properties and with the regular usage of Cetaphil lotion, my skin started to feel more hydrated, and using both Cetaphil and Episoft during daytime felt like a bit more than required especially if you are out and traveling.

I then switched Cetaphil Daily Advance Ultra Hydrating Lotion from twice a day to once a day during my nighttime routine only as I love giving rich intense nourishment to my skin before going to sleep.

As my Aveeno moisturizer was over for the 3rd or 4th time and I limited my Cetaphil moisturizer to the nighttime only, I wanted to try something new and I went ahead and purchased Minimalist Vitamin B5 Moisturizer under the Nykaa Buy2Get1 sale and oh what a moisturizer is that. Lightweight yet highly nourishing.

Now I use my Minimalist Moisturizer during the daytime which can also be used during the night and Cetaphil, as I mentioned above, in my nighttime routine.

I absolutely loved how Cetaphil helped heal my dry skin but it couldn’t be kept as a constant as I do not belong to the dry skin squad. It was seasonal and it got healed.

On the other hand, my mother uses this Cetaphil Daily Advance Ultra Hydrating Lotion for her dry skin every time she washes her face. This is her constant. Cetaphil is her constant.

Also, is it me only or do you also feel confused with the variety of Cetaphil moisturizers? Some are labeled lotions, some are labeled creams, moisturizers, ultra-rich, advanced ultra, and whatnot.

Being a combination or oily skin person, Cetaphil always comes to the rescue when there is an occasional dryness and I love that about Cetaphil.

If you too love using rich moisturizers during nighttime, you can go for this Cetaphil Daily Advance Ultra Hydrating Lotion without any doubt and if you are a dry skin person or facing dryness for some reason, this could be your solution.

Is Cetaphil ultra-hydrating lotion good for the face?

Yes, in fact, I use Cetaphil for my face only. The bottles and tubes are really less to be used as your daily body lotion. That being said, if you are facing itchiness or dryness in a particular area of your body, this is can help you heal that.

Is Cetaphil for Oily Skin?

Cetaphil has a bunch of products that can be used by both dry and oily skin people but everyone knows that Cetaphil is a solution for dry skin people. If you are an oily skin person, using Cetaphil as your daily skincare especially if you live in a hot and humid place, might not be the best decision.

Summing Up

Cetaphil Daily Advance Ultra Hydrating Lotion is perfect for people with Dry Skin or for anyone facing dryness. It helped my skin heal from seasonal dryness and I use this as my nighttime moisturizer on a daily basis. It is extremely rich and intense which is quite soothing if you are facing dryness.
