Schwarzkopf Bonacure Repair Rescue Shampoo and Conditioner REVIEW (Red Bottle)

Bonacure Shampoo Review – In this article, I will be sharing my experience with Schwarzkopf Bonacure BC repair rescue shampoo and conditioner, whom it is most suitable for, and what results I got with this range in detail.
I’ll be honest, I can not pronounce this Brand. Glad I am a Blogger. 😹 I bought Schwarzkopf Bonacure Repair Rescue Shampoo and Conditioner a while back and I tested it out on my wavy-curly hair with dry ends and oily/sweaty scalp.
I always wanted to experience this high-end Brand Schwarzkopf and I finally tested it out.
I picked up the Repair variant (the red bottle) as with sweat, dust, and pollution my hair is always struggling. There was a time when I had silky smooth hair locks but over the last few years, I am in my late 20s btw, my hair for some reason looks more dry and damaged.
My Personal Favourites
Niharika X NykaaMy hair also shifted from being wavy/semi-straight to almost curly.
This is another reason I am finding it hard to find the right hair care regime for my hair as no matter what, at the end of the day my hair starts to expand and looks more like Hagrid!
Every time I brush or comb my hair, it looks more unruly in an hour rather than settled and shiny.

For Whom is this Range Ideal?
I feel this range is more suitable for people with straight, thin, and normal hair as it sort of settles the hair and weighs them down which works in favor of straight hair.
Reason for my 3/5 Rating?
Despite being the most hyped and professionally recommended Brand, this failed for my dry-wavy hair. It did not help with the dryness and damage that comes with sweat in the Summer and humid season. There was no shine or luster in my hair. The shampoo is not strong enough to wash away oil and sweat from the scalp resulting in an oily-looking crown area. The conditioner was of no help either. My hair ends looked super dry and rough despite following the complete ritual.

Packaging
Both shampoo and conditioner come in an opaque squeezable bottle with a red theme. The cap has a flip-flop mechanism. I personally did not find any issue with the usage or storage but at one point, it became a little tough to squeeze out the conditioner from this flip-flop cap.

Fragrance
None as such. A very mild soapy and floral scent.
Phew! That was all the important information such as price, ingredients, and what the product claims. Now, I am moving forward with my experience with the shampoo and conditioner.
Schwarzkopf Bonacure Repair Rescue SHAMPOO Review

I took a decent amount of the shampoo and lathered it well. The shampoo looks hazy and runny in consistency.
It is not much foaming but decently lathers up. Now, it is a good thing from a “clean formulation” point of view as Shampoos without SLS and SLES are considered safer for hair but at the same time don’t foam up well and act mild for oily hair types.
I spent some time massaging the scalp and hair to get rid of all the sweat and grime. I had to take double the amount of shampoo than what I regularly use in order to properly clean my scalp.
I further used a scalp massager to make sure my scalp was all nice and clean.
Had to take double the amount than usual
While washing, I did not feel if my scalp was properly cleaned so I went for a second round with this shampoo to give a double cleanse. This is usually advisable for people with oily and sweaty scalp in general.

Once done, I allowed my hair to naturally dry and did not use the dryer or heating tool. I did use my L’Oreal Extraordinary Oil hair serum though as a part of my hair wash routine.
In the first few uses, honestly, I did feel like a change and if the shampoo is actually doing something. My hair felt softer and manageable. I remember how I praised this shampoo in my Instagram stories. But, the results weren’t consistent.
Did not help with the Humid season sweat and roughness
Sooner, with the regular usage, it looked like the shampoo was not doing anything. Plus, with the summer and humid season at its peak, my scalp became so sweaty and greasy and the shampoo was not helping at all.
Post cleanse, my hair did not feel clean and within 24 hours, my scalp was all oily and greasy.
My hair strands looked so rough, unruly, and dry and I get it, this is common for my hair in the humid season but the shampoo was not helping at all. Neither for the scalp nor for hair. I mean, I couldn’t tell I use SCHWARZKOPF for hair!
Not strong enough for oiled-hair
I also tested out the shampoo on my oiled hair and unfortunately, it is not strong enough to properly clean the oiled hair. Had to go for 2-3 rounds in order to completely wash oil from the scalp and hair. Definitely, a major fail for people with oily hair.
The shampoo sort of settles the hair down which works against my oily scalp. I want that clean bouncy volume post-hair wash and this shampoo did not deliver it. As a result, my crown area always looked a bit oily even after washing.
It also weighs the hair down which again did not work in favour of my heavy hair. It felt and looked like my hair was still oily and was not properly clean even after washing with this shampoo.
Schwarzkopf Bonacure Repair Rescue CONDITIONER Review

Now, let’s talk about conditioner. I don’t know if it sounds weird but when it comes to shampoo and conditioner, I am always more excited about Conditioner and its effectiveness.
I love a good conditioner and how it leaves hair well-managed, soft, and shiny.
Took a decent amount of the conditioner. The texture is thick and spreads easily on the strands. I left the conditioner on damp hair for about 2 to 3 minutes and then rinsed it off.
While rinsing, I could feel hair extremely soft and smooth. At that very moment, I felt like I finally got to experience the hype. But, that was simply a momentary happiness.

No Results – Not at all Nourishing
Once my hair was all dried and combed, the texture of my hair especially the ends was back to being rough and dry as if I forgot to use a conditioner.
Giving it the benefit of the doubt, I tested out the conditioner several times by taking more amount than usual but no results.
Humidity makes my hair look so weird and rough and the conditioner did not help at all. To be honest, Biolage works way better for my hair in comparison to Bonacure.

Schwarzkopf Damage Repair Shampoo and Conditioner: Final Thoughts
Unfortunately, I couldn’t experience the hype as the range did not work for me. Neither the shampoo worked for my oily scalp and wavy hair nor did the conditioner help with the dry texture. This range might work in favor of thin and straight hair but it is not that effective for dry/oily and wavy hair.
Pros
- None for me
Cons
- Expensive
- Both Shampoo and Conditioner did not deliver any results
- Shampoo not strong enough for oily scalp
- Conditioner did not help in nourishing and hydrating dry hair
- No “repairing” results as such
- Did not help with the damage and roughness that come with the Humid season
- Not for heavy and wavy hair.
This was it for today. I hope my review of Schwarzkopf Damage Repair Shampoo and Conditioner was helpful. I would love to know your experience and thoughts in the comments below.
Have a Good Day. 💕
