Minimalist Oat Extract Cleanser Review

Minimalist Oat Extract Cleanser Review

The primary reason I bought Minimalist Oat Extract Cleanser was that my skin has been a little dry due to many contributing factors. Season change, acne products, hormones, medications, everything made my skin dry and on top of that, I was already using Minimalist Salicylic Acid Face Wash because I am an oily skin person most time of the year.

Minimalist 6% Oat Extract Face Wash did exactly what I purchased this for. If you have been looking for the Minimalist Oat Face Wash review, you are on the right page.

Update – April 1, 2024 – I no longer use the Brand Minimalist. They have changed their formulations over the past few years and their products give me breakouts and reactions. Even the products that used to work for me now result in acne. I do not recommend Minimalist anymore.

Review – Minimalist Oat Extract Cleanser

My Skin Type: Combination to Oily in Summer, Dry in Winter, Sensitive and Acne-Prone Skin.

Packaging: It comes in a see-through pump bottle with all the required labels on it. It further comes in an outer cardboard box having all the necessary information.

Fragrance: There wasn’t much of a noticeable fragrance when I sniffed the product but when used on the face, I sensed a bit of rich creamy fragrance. Some days it is okay and some days it kind of feels like a fatty cream.

My Experience

The claims of this Minimalist Oat Cleanser were the exact reason I bought it. I have sensitive skin but I am not a dry skin person as usual. I was having this seasonal dryness causing irritation and I felt a strong need for hydrating products.

Usually, my skincare routine consists of salicylic acid in one or two products to deal with the oily skin I have and pimples if there are any. Occasionally, I get this dryness followed by itchiness which gets healed in no time when I serve my skin with rich hydrating products.

I started using this cleanser day and night, daily by taking only one full pump and lathering it up on my face. As mentioned by the Brand, it didn’t make much of the lather. Just minimal lather like how you would normally expect from a mild cleanser.

I immediately felt relief. The texture and consistency kind of soothed my skin from the first use. Yes, while washing off I felt that bit of slippery layer on my face but I guess I needed that. Post-wash, from the first use, my skin felt so supple and hydrated I ain’t kidding. There wasn’t excess heaviness or greasiness on my face. The nourishment it provided felt perfect at the moment.

It not only soothed my skin, but it also cleaned the dirt and excess oil as well. I remember standing in the shower and thinking OMG, this is exactly what I needed.

I continued this Face Wash for two weeks followed by Minimalist Moisturizer and my skin healed from all the dry and rough patches it was going through. My skin felt supple and nourished with no sign of irritation or itch. Like it felt like healthy nourishment from within as if my skin was nourished.

Minimalist Oat Extract Cleanser no doubt did what it meant to be. It soothed my irritated skin and healed the dryness by being gentle on my sensitive skin. But after 2-3 weeks, when my skin felt all healed, I started feeling like this Minimalist Oat Extract Cleanser a bit milder for my requirement.

Now I keep a balance between Minimalist Oat Extract Cleanser and Salicylic Acid Face Wash. Having Minimalist Oat Extract Cleanser on my shelf gives me a surety that someone is holding me back haha! Using this one in-between maintains a balance and I am loving my skin.

I can’t thank Minimalist Oat Face Wash enough for saving and healing my skin. If you are someone who has dry skin or is facing dryness for some reason, get this one and you will love it.
