Schwarzkopf Spa Essence Shampoo Review: Made My Hair Dry

spa essence shampoo bottle review thepinkvelvetblog

Schwarzkopf Spa Essence Shampoo is the second product from the brand Schwarzkopf that disappointed me. The first one was Bonacure Repair Rescue. I heard so much about this brand being on a higher end but I did not had a good experience with any of the Schwarzkopf shampoo I tried.

I bought Spa Essence shampoo out of excitement but it was nowhere close to ‘salon like”.

It is mentioned over at Nykaa that this is used by leading salon professionals but my experience was not even close.

I have been delaying working on this article for long simply because I have spent my last two weeks working on my blog to improve whatever I can, just so Google stop reducing our rankings. Google is just pushing our content down and picking up the images from my article for the AI Overviews without even showing my website. I am exhausted!! I can go on and on about my frustration and feelings but this article ain’t about it. 🥷🏻

Quick Overview – Schwarzkopf Spa Essence Shampoo Review in a Glance

2/5

I did not like the experience. It added a layer of moisture resulting in oily looking hair after wash. Once dried, my hair texture started looking dry. The shampoo did not resulted in clean and fresh scalp feeling. No sign of smooth, soft, or healthy hair. Plus, it comes in only 1000ml bottle (no small variants) and had no seal.

How I Use

Pour out a decent amount of the shampoo, lather up between my palms, and massage well.

My Experience with Spa Essence Nourishing Shampoo

My hair type: Oily scalp. Dry hair. Wavy to Curly Hair. Dry and Rough during humidty.

Packaging (Not a fan of huge 1L bottle)

It comes in a giant 1L (1000ml) opaque bottle which is not a plus point in my opinion. There should have been smaller variants for easy of use and carrying.

A 1000ml shampoo bottle is so heavy to use, carry, or to even try at first.

Next, when I unscrewed the cap, there was no seal! I looked over the internet and turns out whoever purchased this shampoo be it from Nykaa or Amazon, none of their shampoo bottles had seal over it.

And!! The bottle says “salon exclusive”! How come retailers are selling it? Does the brand know? Is this even original? I don’t know. 😑 (I purchased mine from Nykaa).

Thoughts on Fragrance

The shampoo has berries and grapes sort of fruity scent. Not overpowering though.

Lathers up nicely ✨

I took a decent amount of the shampoo and massaged it throughly on my scalp. It forms a decent lather so no issues or concerns there. I don’t like it when shampoos don’t lather up. 🙈

I gave my scalp a good massage while lathering up the shampoo and after a minute or so, I washed it off.

My scalp did not feel clean post shampoo

While washing, I felt as if my scalp and hair are not that clean and fresh. I mean, I didn’t get that “FRESH” sort of feeling which I usually experience after a good shampoo.

The shampoo didn’t weigh my hair down but something was lacking in terms of cleaning.

Made my hair look oily (for a while)

Next, when I dried up my hair I noticed that the shampoo has added a layer of moisture in terms of nourishment, which I didn’t like.

It gave my hair an oily look. My hair was not exactly feeling oily neither they were looking greasy but were giving an impression that a good hair wash is due for my hair. 😹

Once my hair were dried, I noticed smoothness, initially, and started kind of liking it but that was only momentarily.

To be honest, I really liked how my hair felt for the first few hours – smooth, and soft but the effect did not last long and the result was not able to that mark which I have experienced in my other favourite shampoo.

Once dried, my hair looked rough

In a few hours, when my hair were fully dry, that oily impression was gone and my hair started to look rough and dry. I had no clue what was happening. They weren’t looking fresh, shiny, or voluminous, not at all.

This was only one time and my experience wasn’t even near to what “salon like” is like. How is this even salon exclusive? Sus! 😏

By then I have been using this shampoo simply to finish this off else what I am going to do with this 1L bottle of shampoo that gave such bad results?

The good part was I did not experience any itching or hair fall.

My hair did not look clean and healthy after wash

It’s just that post shampoo, my hair didn’t look good. My hair didn’t feel good! That oily look followed by dry rough hair, is not something I was expecting. Plus, the fact that my scalp didn’t feel clean while washing off the shampoo was a major downside.

I initially thought it’s only me but my brother and whole family didn’t like it as well.

Final Thoughts ✍🏻

I am still not sure how a product with label salon exclusive is being sold and if so, why there was no seal packaging? As far as the experience goes, well, mine was definitely not a good one. My hair did not look good post shampoo. My scalp did not feel clean. My hair went through looking oily and rough within 24 hours of the shampoo. 🙈 The results I got from Love Beauty and Planet were far better from this.

Availability and Price (for 1000ml)

1. Is spa essence shampoo sulfate free?

No. It is not. The ingredients does contain SLS (Sodium Lauryl Sulfate).

2. Why didn’t I purchased the spa essence conditioner?

The conditioner has so many negative reviews over Nykaa and even Reddit that I decided it’s best I skip it.

3. What is the benefit of Schwarzkopf Spa Essence shampoo?

The brand claims to result in healthy and shiny hair but my experience was not a good one and I did not see any positive results from the shampoo.
