Deconstruct Niacinamide Serum Review: Better Than The Ordinary!

review of deconstruct niacinamide serum

After trying Deconstruct Vitamin C and Retinol serum and absolutely loving it, it was time to try more of the serums from the Brand. I wanted to see how they’d go this time and, along with my second purchase of Vitamin C serum, I got myself Deconstruct Niacinamide Serum. It’s their clearing serum with 2% Alpha Arbutin and 5% Niacinamide.

Deconstruct Niacinamide Serum Review in a Glance

Rating: 4/5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Safest Niacinamide for my sensitive, eczema, and acne-prone skin. It did not result in sticky residue or rashes as I experienced with The Ordinary. Results were noticeable and slow but effective. It took the serum around 2-3 months to deliver results. I use it every day, and it works great for me. Deconstruct serums have been working great for me so far.

Safe for sensitive and acne-prone skin?Yes

As much as I prefer and recommend Deconstruct for face serums, I am not a fan of their other products. Their sunscreen was a major fail for me, along with their lip balm. Their Salicylic Acid body wash didn’t impress me much either.

No matter how much their other products disappointed me, their serums are still the best, in my opinion. Even better than the Ordinary.

Why better than The Ordinary, you ask?

The Ordinary is very strong for a beginner or a person with skin sensitivity like me. Their barrier repair, caffeine serum for the eye, and niacinamide serum resulted in bad rashes and allergies, while their retinol, despite showing positive results, ended up affecting my skin negatively in the long run.

Reviews of all the Ordinary products I tried

The only Ordinary product I use and like as of now is their Glycolic Acid toner.

I have been using Deconstruct Niacinamide Clearing Serum for over two months now and I am all set to share my experience and detailed review with you all. ✨

What does the Brand Claim?

A unique combination of Niacinamide and Alpha Arbutin that improves the skin’s texture, evens out the skin tone and tackles hyperpigmentation, tanning, and freckles. This Niacinamide serum is extremely hydrating as it contains effective ingredients that work great for all skin types such as normal skin, oily skin, acne-prone skin, etc.

– as per what is shared on thedeconstruct.in.

  • 10% Niacinamide reduces hyperpigmentation, dark spots, and freckles by inhibiting melanosome transfer.
  • 0.3% Alpha Arbutin in combination works on tan and brightens the skin by suppressing melanin production and protecting the skin from UV radiation.

Review – Deconstruct Niacinamide and Alpha Arbutin Clearing Serum

My Skin Type: Sensitive, eczema, and acne-prone skin. Oily in the summer season and dry in winter,

Packaging

It comes in a hazy glass bottle with a dropper cap which works absolutely fine creating no mess or trouble in the usage. I found the serum bottle easy to store, use, and travel with. It further comes in a product box with details like ingredients, expiry, and other necessary information.

The bottle does have dates printed but it’s for me to either store the box or note down the date somewhere else because we all know the dates are always smudged after a long usage.

Non-Sticky and Gets Absorbed Easily

I started incorporating the serum into my daytime routine for the night, I use Vitamin C serum from Deconstruct only or retinol from Neutrogena.

The serum is transparent and completely water-like in texture and consistency and gets absorbed within seconds right after I tap it onto my skin. It didn’t create any soapy or sticky residue while application as I recall happening with The Ordinary Niacinamide serum.

No Itching or Rashes

There was no itching, burning sensation, or redness right after application so it passed the initial test for me.

Next, I proceed with my Cetaphil moisturizer and Nykaa SkinRx sunscreen as I use this serum in my daily routine only. I do not use any other serum or product with any active present along with the Niacinamide serum to avoid any side effects if any.

I used the serum every single day and it took me more than two months to finish 50% of the product.

My sole reason for incorporating Niacinamide serum into my skincare routine was to treat the hyperpigmentation going around the corner of my lips and around the nose. I don’t have any major hyperpigmentation issues as such but the issues I mentioned, needed to be taken care of.

Works on the Unevenness

After months of usage, I came to the conclusion that yes, Deconstruct Niacinamide serum definitely works. Although, not as fast as their Vitamin C serum but still, considerably effective.

It didn’t completely eliminate the issue but reduced the appearance with a noticeable difference.

Worked without breaking out the skin 💕

For me, it was really important for the serum to work without any side effects of rashes and redness and this passed the test for me. The serum did not cause any breakouts, no allergies or itching, and no post-usage rashes. Slow, but delivered the results without affecting my skin.

Not a dedicated solution for acne marks

Coming to how effective it was on the acne marks, I feel this Niacinamide serum will be a milder treatment to consider for marks as I personally got a lot better and faster results with Vitamin C serum, especially for the acne marks.

For the severe cases of Hyperpigmentation, I would still recommend visiting a dermatologist and getting a dedicated treatment.

Niacinamide serums come in handy when there are mild cases of hyperpigmentation and spots which are generally treated over time with the right skincare and diet.

Nykaa Acne Patch Review – A Total Failure

Not enough for severe hyperpigmentation cases

A lot of people often DM me asking if they have severe hyperpigmentation going on with large patches and for that, an everyday use of Niacinamide serum won’t be the solution you are looking for. It will take months and months to work on the layer.

That being said, I feel Deconstruct Niacinamide and Alpha Arbutin serum is the safest one I tried for my sensitive and acne-prone skin.

Now, if I see it from the perspective of “clearing serum”, I don’t see it to be that effective and I would rather give this title to Vitamin C serum. Niacinamide works, but Vitamin C serum legit targets the marks, unevenness, texture, and overall appearance.

1. Does Deconstruct serum remove dark spots?

Up to some level, yes. Depending on the factors, Niacinamide can really help reduce the spots. On the other hand their Vitamin C is a better option to consider for marks and spots.

2. Is it good to use niacinamide serum every day?

Definitely! I use the Niacinamide serum every single day.

3. Is deconstruct better than minimalist?

Oh, Yes!! Definitely. Without a single doubt. There was a time when Minimalist launched and their serums delivered great results but not any longer. Their serums resulted in severe reactions in the later days. Minimalist was no longer what it used to be.

4. Which is the best niacinamide serum?

Well, as of now, it would be Deconstruct Niacinamide serum for me until I try something new that works for me without reacting with my skin.

Final Thoughts

Deconstruct Niacinamide and Alpha Arbutin a decent options to consider if you are looking for a Niacinamide serum for sensitive and acne-prone skin as even though the results were slow, it worked without giving my skin redness or rashes. I haven’t tried many of the available Brands in the market as most of them are not suitable for sensitive skin which is why it is a bit tough for me to figure out better options that are safe for my skin as well.

Pros

  • Effective on mild hyperpigmentation
  • Reduced the appearance of unevenness around lips and nose
  • Non-sticky texture
  • Gets easily absorbed
  • No breakouts and rashes
  • Safe for my sensitive and acne-prone skin

Cons

  • A bit slow in terms of effectiveness

This was it for today. I hope my review of the serum helped in one or another way. Do share your experiences and opinions in the comments below. Have a Good Day. 💕
