St.Ives Apricot Scrub has been one of the cult-favorite face scrubs of all the time. It is also labeled as Allure The Beauty Expert 2016 Reader’s Choice Award Winner. I always Google about the product in order to explore a little what the readers are looking for. It is then I found that St.Ives Fresh Skin Apricot Face Scrub actually faced a lawsuit back in 2017 which was later tossed out of court in December 2018. I didn’t know that!
If you too weren’t aware of St.Ives Apricot Scrub Lawsuit, not to worry as I will be sharing a bit of information here in this post on the basis of what I have read along with my Review on the St.Ives Apricot Scrub Fresh Skin.
Let us go into the details…

Why St.Ives Face Scrub Faced Lawsuit?
According to what I have read on Glamour, St.Ives Lawsuit included two things – that the crushed walnut powder creates microscopic tears in your skin, exposing it to infections and irritation, and that its label’s claim of being noncomedogenic (that is, it doesn’t clog pores) was not correct. Later, in December 2018, Unilever, the parent company for St. Ives, filed a motion to dismiss the lawsuit on the grounds that there was no proof the Apricot Scrub was a safety hazard or defective, or that it cause the alleged damage to users’ skin.
What we all have seen is people absolutely love the St.Ives Face scrub all over the world and find it the best exfoliator of all the time.
St.Ives also got New Sheet Masks
Because I received this as a part of PR, there were 3 variants of St.Ives Sheet Mask as well naming – Glowing, Soothing, and Revitalizing which I haven’t tried yet because it is 8 degrees here in Delhi/NCR and sheet masks feel so cold. 😂
While exploring St.Ives products on Nykaa, I could see more from the St.Ives such as Mask, Body Lotion, and Body Wash.
Let us move to the St.Ives Fresh Skin Apricot Face Scrub Review …
Review – St.Ives Fresh Skin Apricot Face Scrub
My Skin Type: Combination to Oily in Summers, Dry in Winters, Sensitive, and Acne-Prone Skin.
Packaging: It comes in a squeezable plastic tube with a screw cap and a nozzle to dispense the product. The packaging has a new look that has green colored packaging with apricots printed on it. It has got a stamp of “New Look”, “Made with 100% Natural Exfoliants”, and “Allure The Beauty Expert 2016 Reader’s Choice Award Winner”.
The tube has all the details printed on it except the price and expiry date. So if you throw away the outer packaging, you are left with no expiry information.
My Suggestion? Mark the date with a marker on the tube. 😂
Fragrance: It has a beautiful refreshing fragrance which is noticeable only if you sniff it. It isn’t much noticeable while using the product.
I have got the Fresh Skin variant. It also comes in the Radiant, Gentle Smoothing, and Energizing variant with Oatmeal in India. Globally, it is available in more variants such as Acne-Control Apricot Scrub, Green Tea Blackhead Clearing Scrub, Avocado, and Honey Scrub
I personally love deep exfoliators. I love the satisfying gritty feel of deep exfoliating scrubs. And this one is exactly my type. I have tried other deep exfoliators such as Biotique Bio Papaya Scrub, which does provide instant softness and smoothness but results aren’t long-lasting but the St.Ives Fresh Skin Apricot Face Scrub made me fell in love with it.
I took a pea-sized amount and started gently massaging all over my face focusing on the T-Zone and where I have oil-heads. I could feel the exfoliating walnut shell particles while massaging. After giving a good massage to my skin with this scrub, I washed it off and instantly, I could feel my skin smooth, soft to touch, and free-from oil-heads.
Literally, it removed those tiny bumps, whiteheads, and oil-heads in first use. It not only removed the dead skin cells providing the fresh skin, it actually exfoliated the skin making it smooth.
I also noticed it took away the dullness and added a bit of brightness. My cheeks were super soft and smooth to touch, those tiny dot-sized oil heads from the chin and around the nose were almost gone, and there was a fresh and smooth skin. It actually improved the skin texture. Now I know why this is a cult favorite.
The cream part of this scrub didn’t leave any greasiness behind which is a plus point. It didn’t aggravate my sensitive skin and acne and also didn’t lead to breakouts. It didn’t make my skin super dry either but I always make sure to moisturize my skin after face wash or scrub or mask.
This is exactly what I look in a scrub. That does not only remove dead skin by giving temporary softness but also removes oil-heads giving smooth skin which lasts long.
St.Ives Fresh Skin Apricot Scrub is no doubt the best face scrub/exfoliator. It not only removes dead cells leaving skin soft temporarily, but actually removes oil-heads, whiteheads, and tiny bumps making skin smooth to touch and improving the texture of the skin on a long-term basis. It is a deep exfoliating scrub, works for all skin types, leaves skin bright, doesn’t lead to breakouts, and true to the claims of providing fresh and smooth skin which lasts long.
- Deeply Exfoliates
- Removes Tiny Bumps and Oil-heads
- Instantly gives fresh, Bright, and Smooth Skin
- Improves Skin Texture
- Results last-long
- Works for All Skin Types
- No Breakouts
So this was it for today. I hope you have enjoyed reading the St.Ives Fresh Skin Apricot Face Scrub Review.
Have a Good Day! 😇
