First the Scalppure variant and now this? Matrix for sure does know how to play this game. I first tried the Matrix Biolage Smoothproof Smoothing Conditioner which I bought with Matrix Scalppure shampoo and immediately fell in love with the results. Now that my anti-dandruff Scalppure shampoo is over, I decided to try the shampoo from Smoothproof range as well.

I know you must be wondering why I didn’t get the combo in the first place. Well, I was on a hunt for a shampoo to treat my scalp infection. I decided to go for Matrix Biolage Scalppure Anti-Dandruff shampoo and at the same time, their Smoothproof Camellia conditioner caught my attention. I was like, why not! let’s give it a try.

My Experience

Even though I loved using my recent purchase, Nykaa Apple Cider shampoo I felt like something was missing. You know like, everything looks good but what I am missing here?

Matrix Biolage Smoothproof Smoothing Shampoo Packaging

When I tried Matrix Biolage Smoothproof shampoo I was like, this is it! This is what a perfect shampoo feels like. While cleansing, I could actually feel the rich lather and foam doing their job.

It comes in their default shampoo packaging which is a long opaque bottle with a color-coded flip-flop cap to secure the nozzle. All the details such as ingredients, expiry date, and directions can be easily seen on the label.

In terms of fragrance, it has a mild and very soft fragrance with a hint of mild flower touch. Not at all overpowering or irritating.

Nykaa Apple Cider shampoo was giving a perfect lather and a good cleanse but I was missing that smoothness after my hair wash which this Matrix Smoothing Shampoo gave me.

After washing and drying my hair, I was amazed by the results. My scalp felt clean, my hair felt clean, and there was a noticeable softness, smoothness, and volume in my hair. You know that when your hair falls beautifully on your straight giving a smooth look but also not poker straight? This is the kind of result I got with Biolage smoothing shampoo.

To my surprise, it actually showed the results from the very first usage. I am still feeling the softness and smoothness of my hair while writing this post.

I was actually afraid that a smoothing variant might end up heavily moisturizing my hair resulting in heavy weighed-down hair but I am glad that I was wrong. It left no traces of dirt and oil and there is not a single sign of frizz or dryness.

My hair literally felt like I had been to a salon and got myself some sort of hair spa or treatment or used an extremely professional shampoo. There is no sign of roughness.

Recently I got a head massage from a professional and the lady poured all the hair oil left in this universe into my head. My hair was totally wet and soaked in oil. I thought this was going to take multiple washes but this smoothing camellia shampoo nailed it. Just one wash and my hair were all clean, light, and bouncy. Not a single trace of oil was left.

The season of dryness and frizzy hair is here and having this shampoo and this point in time is like a blessing. You know how irritating frizzy hair can feel.
