Maybelline MASTER Camouflage Concealer Palette 01 Light Review

I got a different version of the Maybelline MASTER Camouflage Concealer Palette because the one which I got doesn’t match with what the Internet shows. Everywhere on the Online Shopping Sites, it is being sold as “Maybelline Camo Color Correcting Kit by Face Studio”. Not only it is different by name, colors, the size, everything is different.

If your Maybelline Product has an “Imported and Marketed by L’Oreal” Label on it, it is an Original Product. And on mine, it says Imported and Marketed by Regd. Office – L’Oreal India Pvt. Ltd. with the Complete Registered Address on it. Phew! Relieved.

Why it is Different from What is being Sold Online?

I clearly have no idea! I bought this from my Nearby NewU Store and later when I realized that mine is a bit different from what Online Shopping Sites or YouTubers are showing, I got worried thinking that I got a fake product.

Everywhere on the Internet, on the Shopping Sites, It is being sold as “Maybelline Camo Color Correcting Kit by Face Studio” whereas mine was “Maybelline MASTER Camouflage Concealer Palette”. Everywhere this palette is shown slightly bigger with different positioning of shades. Even on the Maybelline Websites, I don’t see this packaging.

It is only on the Maybelline Singapore Website and on Maybelline Philippine YouTube Channel, I saw this exact same Maybelline Camouflage Concealer Palette.

I am assuming that Maybelline later on, re-formulated or re-invented their Camo Color Correcting Kit and their batch of Old Version is still being sold in the market, even in India. Phew! It took a lot of Research Work. 😃

Review and Swatches – Maybelline MASTER Camouflage Concealer Palette – 01 Light

My Skin Tone – Light to Medium with Pink/Neutral Undertones

Packaging: It comes in a handy, travel-size palette with plastic and a lightweight body having a flip-flop lid and a tiny mirror bar on the lid along with a tiny brush having a sponge applicator on one end.

Texture and Ease of Blend – Initially, the texture feels hard but when I started to rub my finger over it, the texture gets soft with the warmth of my finger which makes it easy to dab and blend on the skin without feeling the need to rub and is light on the skin as well.

My Experience

Color Correctors –

Green Corrector – I started by dabbing a little on the areas where I was having little redness be it pimples or rashes. The moment I blended it, it started disappearing. What I notice is, this didn’t totally cover or conceal the redness, but reduces and cools down the redness. On some parts, the redness was still peeking through, and on some parts, it left a slight greyish touch.

I tried to add more corrector but it will only end up layering as the moment I blend it, it almost disappears. I didn’t have the most satisfying results and I was like “meh” after using it. Sometimes it did a nice job while other times it either didn’t cover or leave a greyish touch behind.

Peach/Salmony Corrector – This corrector is apt for under-eye dark circles and it really does a great job. It blends in nicely covering the darkness under and around eyes. The texture is easy to dab and blend. It also adds a bit of brightness. Because it is a rich creamy corrector, even being light on the skin, using it in excess and layering it up with a heavy foundation or concealer can lead to making it look cakey. It works great with a lightweight foundation and concealers.

Concealers –

On Top, it has a Pink Undertone Concealer and on the bottom, a yellow undertone concealer. The product says mix and matches both the concealers for best results but I am only using the pink tone one as the yellow tone is too yellow for my skin. The coverage is I will say is light to medium and are good to even out the skin. Not the best, but is good.

Highlighters –

Maybelline MASTER Camouflage Concealer Palette Highlighters

On top, it has a matte highlighter for the brow bone area and on the bottom, the shimmery one for the upper cheekbone area. I still don’t understand the use of a matte highlighter because it blends and disappears. The real highlighter which is on the bottom row works really nice giving a subtle glow from within kind of highlight.

Summing Up

I had a “meh” experience with Maybelline MASTER Camouflage Concealer Palette. It is neither the best with satisfying results nor bad. It is just an okayish product for me where something works and something didn’t. The texture is light and easy to blend. Only the peach corrector, concealer with a pink undertone, and cheekbone highlighter did a nice job.

Also, I guess I am not the most comfortable with correctors. After giving a try to LA Girl Correctors, the most pigmented one, and Maybelline Corrector, one with Light and Cool Tones, I didn’t get any satisfying results. I am only good with regular liquid concealers.
