InMotion Hosting Review + Why I am Switching to Lyrical Host (Discount Code Inside)
I started my Beauty Blog in 2016 and moved to InMotion Hosting in 2019. I first started with Blogger Platform which is a free platform and later moved to WordPress with InMotion and Hands to God, Moving to WordPress from Blogger has been the best decision ever in my blogging journey.
It is been over 2 years now since I moved to WordPress with InMotion Hosting and I have been really happy with them but why I have decided to switch from it now? In this post, I am going to share everything from Why I decided to choose InMotion Hosting, my experience, and why I am moving from it now.
Why I Decided to Choose InMotion Hosting for My Blog?

Back when I finalized that it was time to move from Blogger to WordPress, the next big step was deciding on Hosting Provider and it is not an easy task. Your website depends on your hosting provider, the speed, and the performance, the majority of it depends on your server. Bad hosting can not only affect your website performance but can also ruin your data as well.
No doubt, the Internet was and is still filled with articles suggesting Bluehost as the best hosting provider recommended by WordPress. Each and every article had a clear mention of Bluehost followed by HostGator, Dreamhost, SiteGround (not available in India), A2 Hosting, and many names which I am sure you are familiar with. Not to forget the Hostinger, the cheapest of all hosting providers available on the Internet.
I obviously had to dig deeper to find out the most genuine and honest reviews and the more I researched, the more I realized how bad these commercially famous hosting companies are in one or another way. There are tons of negative reviews regarding Bluehost and their poor customer service or pricing when it comes to SiteGround even though it has the highest amount of positive reviews their pricing will definitely burn a hole in your pocket.
At one point I was literally stuck with no final option and I decided to take this matter into Facebook Groups and there someone recommended me to try InMotion Hosting. I explored their plans, pricing, and reviews, and I was impressed. Finally, I felt like this is something I can go for. I talked to their customer support via live chat support and OMG!, that is when I decided this was the hosting I was going for.
The person who handled my queries and doubts was so helpful. What else do I need? Chat Support, decent pricing, great plans, good reviews, everything was great and I decided to go ahead.
Wait, let me tell you who I am first
Before I, Niharika Verma, move on further, let me tell you that I am not a web developer or a WordPress Expert. I am simply a professional blogger whose focus is on creating content. So this review will be from someone who is not into technical details.
My Experience with InMotion Hosting
Ever since I moved with InMotion Hosting, I have been feeling I am in great hands. A lot of people especially web developers said to me that I made the best decision by selecting InMotion as my hosting provider.
Their servers are in the US only or I don’t remember clearly but they only have 2 data centers.
Of course, moving to WordPress has been a great rewarding experience in itself, hosting, I have been really satisfied too. I never faced any server problems or speed issues and even if I did, their support team was there to help me and resolve the matter. I have been really happy with my smoothly-running website – thepinkvelvetblog.com.
My Personal Favourites
How Helpful Is Their Customer Support?
Talking about their customer service, often I was greeted by some really polite, helpful, patient, and knowledgeable executives but sometimes, there were a bit rude and impatient executives as well. All they ever did was hand over some blog articles to me which obviously we could read ourselves. If I am contacting technical support via chat system it means it is urgent and I need help. Their tone and behavior were like they wanted to wrap it up, that’s it!
I had a pretty decent experience for about a year. Things started to bother me when I renewed my service. GOD knows what happened, ever since I renewed my plan, I have been facing one or another issue. Sometimes it is speed, or server delays and even their customer support downgraded a bit. I don’t want to neglect those super supportive executives who helped me a lot in resolving technical issues and I am really thankful to them but I also can’t deny the fact that their customer service was affected. Either due to the pandemic or it was just my bad luck.
InMotion Shared vs. Managed WordPress Hosting + Why I am Switching from it?
There are tons of articles on how managed WordPress hosting is always better than shared hosting. It will have better performance and security. I thought I was already facing some server speed issues here and there why not upgrade to WordPress Hosting for better performance oh my God, that was my worst decision.
The day I moved to Managed WP Hosting from shared hosting, forgot about the speed, my website wasn’t even loading most of the time. I was literally spending hours daily with their customer support. Every time they resolved it, it worked for a while, and then it as back to slow loading.
I decided to switch back to my old shared hosting plan which I renewed for 2 years and Oh My God, I feel so frustrated saying that between all this, I lost 6 months from my 2-year hosting plan. Like why? how? why?
On top of this, when I was trying to get my problems resolved they were taking forever for each reply. I have literally waited 10-20 minutes for each response. Sometimes I just used to say OK and start a new chat hoping that I’d get a more helpful person this time. Sometimes it worked, sometimes it didn’t.
This is when I decided to move from InMotion Hosting. Yes, they were excellent when I started, they were so helpful, but now I don’t feel the same. It was time for me to move on.
Did they help in canceling my account? What about Refund?
You wish! I reached out to them that I am interested in canceling my account and want to request a partial refund. They immediately replied, “Sure! I’ll go ahead and cancel”. I was like “No, wait, hold on, I want to know about the refund first“. It was like the person was there ready with the sole purpose of canceling the accounts. haha!
As much as they were ready to cancel the account, they weren’t ready to provide a refund or partial refund. They said I have crossed my 90-day refund period so they won’t be able to provide any refund. I again mentioned that I am only requesting a pro-rated refund for the service I won’t be using any further. I want to move to a host with servers near my country but all they said to me is that only canceling the account or setting the account to expire is the option but not the refund.
What shocked me more, there are tons of other users who have similar complaints like mine, that they were good but now are disappointing and everyone should move their website. I read the reviews on websitesetup.org.
Why I am Moving to Lyrical Host?

I pretty much finalized to move to Chemicloud after months of research and multiple interactions with them. They are so humble and kind and always ready to help. Their customer support is next level, they provide free migration, amazing speed, and performance plus they have multiple servers even in India. Their interface is super user-friendly and on top of all, they provide FREE DOMAIN FOR LIFE! But, they are a bit pricey so I was looking for more options until I decided to lock Chemicloud as my option.
Again, someone in one of the Facebook Groups shared Lyrical Host as the option. She mentioned that she herself too is moving her website from SiteGround to Lyrical Host. Here is the link to her blog post. I decided to explore Lyrical Host as well and I thank GOD that I have been introduced to Lyrical Host.
Their pricing, simple plans (no fancy business), and excellent customer support won my heart. They are so adorable and kind when it comes to customer support. Apart from basic hosting needs, they have a lot to offer including WordPress Support, Stock Photos to be used in Blogs, and Free Courses if you are a customer.
Update – 29th May 2021 – Successfully Moved to Lyrical Host
I successfully migrated to Lyrical Host and I am so happy with my decision. Their team seamlessly migrated my data without any loss and performed additional WordPress settings for performance and optimization. They installed their built-in cache system and SSL so that I don’t need to depend on cache plugins.
They also welcomed me to their super-friendly Facebook Group. Yay! I am now reading their blogs and Free Courses on website performance and I am learning new already. I thought about what new I could get after exploring tons of blogs and articles on the Internet but what they share is like unique little details that can impact a lot but you don’t get to read that often.
Could I be any happier?
Lyrical Host Review: My Detailed Honest Experience
WordPress support is such an important feature especially if you are not a developer or don’t have a developer with you. InMotion Hosting Customer Support always told me that “this is something a developer can look into” and I was always left in the middle of nowhere.
I am so impressed by their hosting plans. Their plan for 1 Website has everything a ONE WEBSITE will require. You don’t have to spend extra money and buy 2-website plan or more simply to buy that additional disk space.
One more thing which impressed me was their inbuilt, speed, SSL, and Cache system. Imagine the number of plugins you can reduce simply because the hosting provider has everything you need.
The internet is filled with positive reviews and after consulting them via their Facebook Chat Support, I made my mind to switch to Lyrical Host from InMotion Hosting. You can always sense the positive energy or how kind the person you are talking to even if it is a chat you are sitting continents apart. lol!
The most important thing here is Lyrical Host pricing remains the same during renewal as well which frankly impressed me a lot. Most of the time you either have to pay the heavy amount or commit to a 3-year plan to avail discount but here, no such thing. Instead, there was an option to pay for 1-Month or 6-Months as well. Along with Free Migration, they offer Speed Optimization and CDN service for which most of the hosting companies charge extra. I am blown away by what they have to offer, their pricing, and their support.
This is why I also decided to partner with them to provide my readers an additional discount for Lyrical Host. You can use code “NIHARIKA10” to avail 10% off at Lyrical Host.
All I have to do is now book the migration and wait for it. I, honestly, can’t wait. 🙂
Conclusion
InMotion Hosting served me the best when I started with them with no server problems and zero customer support issues. There are some of the great executives who helped me resolve major technical issues but now, their customer support is degraded, I get regular server delays and slow speed problems and their WordPress Plan is poor than Shared Plan. They do not offer a pro-rated refund and takes forever for each reply in live chat. That is why I am switching my website to Lyrical Host from InMotion Hosting.
