Goodal Vitamin C Serum Green Tangerine Review

Review Goodal Vitamin C Serum

Serums are a part of my skincare routine now and vitamin-c serums have made an important place in our everyday skincare routine. Goodal Vitamin C Serum claims to have 62% green tangerine extract with nature-derived vitamin-c.

It is been almost 6 months since I have this Goodal Vitamin-C serum with me and I have tested this enough to share what I think about this and how it worked on my sensitive skin.

I received the complete Goodal Vita-C kit which contains serum, sheet-mask, and cream as a part of PR when it was launched on the website Maccaron. Creams were only of sample size and serum was in its giant full-size version.

I am a fan of vitamin-c serums and when I got to know more about the product, I was highly impressed. All the way from South Korea with Tangerine as a source of vitamin-c. So, cool! Right?

But, it didn’t do as I expected. Maybe one or another ingredient didn’t work for me or it isn’t for sensitive skin. Let us dive into the details and see where it went wrong.

Review – Goodal Vitamin C Serum Review

My Skin Type: Combination to Oily in Summers, Dry in Winters, Sensitive, and Acne-Prone Skin

Packaging: It comes in a see-through glass bottle with a pump dispenser secured by a cap but as far as I know, serums and actives must be in a dark bottle to protect it from light. The packaging is travel-friendly and has a whole green theme all over it. Most of the information on the bottle is printed in Korean. Expiry date however is clearly mentioned under the bottle in English which is great because who saves the outer packaging for this long lol!

Fragrance: It has a pure tangerine fragrance. In India, you can definitely relate the fragrance to the fruit mosambi. Not at all heavy but can be a little strong when sniffed right through the bottle.

My Experience

I started by taking a few pumps on my palm and gently dabbing on the skin with soft motions on freshly cleansed skin right before moisturizer.

The consistency and texture are really easy and smooth to work with. It goes onto skin really beautifully leaving my skin moisturized.

Right after application, I noticed my fingers and my face is feeling a bit sticky. I thought maybe it needs a bit more time so I’ll just wait a few minutes and see how it goes which is why I skipped my moisturizer because my skin was already feeling sticky.

Soon that moisturized effect started turning into a heavy and oily feeling along with that stickiness. Within a few hours, I had to wash my face because that heavy oily feeling was becoming uncomfortable for me and my face was looking all dull due to excess oil production.

I then decided to consider using it at night. Most of the time when I feel a serum or a moisturizer is a bit heavy for daytime, I add it to my night-time skincare routine because at night, our skin demands heavy moisture to repair the cells overnight.

I continued this routine and noticed my skin was getting tiny bumps and tiny pimples. This serum was breaking me out. Soon, those tiny bumps or simply clogged pores developed into full-sized pimples and I was not liking it at all.

Maybe, the concentration is way too strong for my sensitive skin or it is one or another ingredient that didn’t go well.

I had to stop using it ultimately. I went through a lot of reviews and articles and I noticed it has a bunch of mixed views. Some really loved it, while some found it okay-ish, while for some, it reacted with their skin.

I read in a review article that this Goodal Vitamin C serum can be a little strong for sensitive skin because of strong levels of vitamin-c. I guess this is where it went wrong for my sensitive and acne-prone skin.

Final thoughts

Goodal Vitamin C Serum with Green Tangerine didn’t work for my sensitive skin. It felt nice and smooth initially when applied but later turned my skin sticky and heavy. It broke out my skin resulting in clogged pores and pimples. Unfortunately, it isn’t the best vitamin-c out there for sensitive skin.

Pros

  • None

Cons

  • Leaves skin sticky
  • Skin turns oily and heavy after few hours
  • Gave me breakouts
  • Not for sensitive and acne-prone skin
