Aveeno Daily Moisturising Lotion Review (on face)

When I bought the Aveeno Daily Moisturizing Lotion for Dry Skin, I don’t know why I had this thought in my mind that is more rich and more intense than the other variant, the one for sensitive skin. When I carefully read the details, I realized that this one with green packaging is slightly milder than the sensitive skin lotion.

Aveeno Sensitive Skin Lotion has been my favorite for a long time and I still use it. I was surprised to see how my combination skin accepted a moisturizer that is meant for very dry skin. Probably because the texture ain’t heavy and is targeted for sensitive skin issues.

I have been trying the Aveeno Daily Moisturizing Lotion for the past couple of months. I am all set to share my experience with the Aveeno Lotion and how and where it differs from the sensitive skin variant.

Aveeno Daily Moisturizing Lotion Ingredients

Water (eau), glycerin, distearyldimonium chloride, petrolatum, isopropyl palmitate, cetyl alcohol, dimethicone, Avena sativa (oat) kernel flour, benzyl alcohol, sodium chloride.

How to Use

Apply to hands & body or wherever skin feels dry or irritated.

Packaging

It comes in an opaque squeezable tube with a flip-flop cap. It has all the labels required such as expiry date and mention and is super travel-friendly.

This lotion actually comes in two sizes. One is a pump bottle which is a full-sized variant, and a tube which is their travel variant in their words. I believe this is why a lot of people get confused about whether this Aveeno lotion can be used on the face which in fact, you can.

I love the fact that both the Aveeno Moisturizers have different colors which makes them easy to recognize. The sensitive skin lotion has a blue theme while this daily lotion has a green theme.

Fragrance/Scent

It doesn’t have any particular strong fragrance as such and true to the claims, it is fragrance-free. But if I closely pay attention or sniff, lol, I can feel some oats or grainy sort of notes in the fragrance.

My Skin Type: Combination to Oily, Sensitive, and Acne-Prone Skin

Can be used on the face and body

I guess it’s today only I realized that Aveeno moisturizing lotions don’t actually say if it is for the face or the body. It simply says moisturizing lotion and can be used wherever the skin needs nourishment.

I took a decent pea-sized amount and dotted it all over my face massaging it in small gentle motions. Sometimes I like to rub the moisturizer between my palms and then pat it all over my face. Feels good both ways.

Texture – Aveeno Daily Lotion vs Aveeno Skin Relief Lotion

I noticed the texture of this daily lotion is slightly different than the sensitive skin lotion. Here, the images will be able to tell what I am trying to express.

Moisturizes without feeling heavy on the skin

I used this Aveeno daily lotion after my face wash, Minimalist toner, and serum and it perfectly moisturized my skin without making my face look oily or heavy. It gave an instant suppleness and softness to my skin which I really enjoyed.

It improves skin texture and skin health over time. I am an oily skin person and I still love it purely because it not only moisturizes for that particular moment but heals the skin for real in the long run.

These days, I am either using my Neutrogena Aqua Moisturizer, the Ponds Gel Moisturizer, or the L’Oreal essence during the day.

I am using the Aveeno Daily Lotion only in my nighttime skincare routine because I love to go to bed after feeding my skin-rich hydration.

Both Aveeno Daily Lotion and the Aveeno Sensitive Skin lotion did an equally great job in terms of moisturizing and keeping the skin hydrated.

I, honestly, do not feel much noticeable difference between the two in terms of hydration.

The key difference between Aveeno Daily Lotion and Skin Relief Lotion

The major difference I feel is the blue one is targeted for sensitive and problematic skin even though the daily lotion didn’t really cause me any breakouts too but that one in particular actually treated my skin issues that are caused by an allergy or extreme dryness. If you have acne-prone skin or are going through some skin issues, Aveeno Sensitive Skin lotion is the one for you while the daily lotion is more on the general side.

Aveeno daily lotion is suitable for dry skin type but not for dryness triggered by dehydration, allergies, eczema, rosacea, or similar skin issues.

If you ask me which variant I’ll go for I think that will be the sensitive skin one because I think I love its texture more, it is a bit more healing, and I am just attracted to that one. 🙈

Aveeno lotions or moisturizers really work well with sensitive skin. You’ll be in good hands whichever variant you choose.
