Fragrance: There isn’t any dominating or heavy fragrance. There is a slight perfumy kind of touch which I didn’t find overpowering at all.

My Experience

As I mentioned, I have put this to use during summers, and winters, both the season where my skin swings from oily to dry. When I first tried it, it was an extremely hot and humid season, I was feeling uncomfortable with all the oil, greasiness, and stickiness on my face.

The moment I applied, I felt a comfortable cooling sensation. Not something which irritates or tingles, but a very soothing and calming cooling sensation. That soothing cooling sensation instantly calmed my skin. Also, I noticed that even after drying, it doesn’t turn into solid rock. I was able to speak comfortably.

Post washing off this Innisfree mask, I did notice that it has removed all the greasiness and oil from my face. My face was soft to touch. I was feeling fresh and my skin was looking clean and soothed. But, all this effect was temporary. Within a few hours, my skin was again oily and greasy. Oh, and yes, this clay mask is easy to wash. I didn’t feel the need to rub hard to take it off. I find it easy to apply and easy to wash.

During winters, It did nothing for me. Except for that cooling sensation, I didn’t notice any visible results because obviously, my skin wasn’t oily. From this, I realized it is only good for Oily skin people during summers. Dry Skin people won’t get anything from this face mask.

After regular use, I felt that it has dried a few of my tiny pimples but the overall effect is not something extraordinary. I didn’t feel any brightening effect as it claims. I didn’t see any effect on clogged pores, whiteheads, or blackheads. I feel that cold green tea bags do a similar job in treating clogged pores and pimples. The only thing it does is, provide a cooling effect, calm the skin down, skin feels soft, and take away all the oil for a few hours. I personally feel that our homemade besan and haldi face mask does a way better job.   Clay masks are no doubt great for oily skin. I understand that nobody has time for a homemade face mask but I feel, this Innisfree Clay Mask is overly priced for what it does.

If you will ask me, I will suggest the Plum Green Tea Mask or Himalaya Mud Pack, or Kesar Pack because it pretty much does a similar job at an affordable price.

I am actually surprised how come I fell in love with this mask initially but later I find that it is overhyped. Maybe because the cooling and calming properties made me fall in love with it during hot and humid days but later I realized that Rs.1100/- is way too much for a mask that gives similar results to other affordable face masks.

Summing Up

Innisfree Super Volcanic Pore Clay Mask 2X is only good for Oily Skin People during summers. It gives a soothing cooling sensation, calms the skin, takes away the oil, and leaves skin feeling clean, soft, and fresh. But the effects last for only a few hours. After regular use, it dried up a few of my tiny pimples but the effect is nothing extraordinary and is similar to other affordable clay masks present in the market. The mask is no doubt good, but nothing extraordinary.

So, this was it for today. I hope you have found this post helpful.

Have a Good Day!
