Hello, and welcome everyone! I am super excited for this post as it is all about the Lakme’s Newly Launched 9 to 5 Primer + Matte Powder Foundation Compact. Lakme is there from ages in India and I used to see Lakme Products in my Mommy’s shelf during my school and college days. But this Brand caught my real attention after it’s 9 to 5 Range. I have tried Lipstick and Mousse Foundation from this Range and quite loved it. So yes, this launch made me super excited and let’s get into the details. 😇

Review
👉 Packaging: The compact comes in a square cardboard packaging having all the labels and details on it. The color is the same as it’s all 9 to 5 Products which is Rose Gold. The compact body is quite attractive. The upper lid is having mirror reflection and the lower lid is plastic so there is no risk of breakage. Plus the lower lid is having tiny holes in it and I guess it is meant for ventilation because the lower lid is actually the case for applicator puff.

There are separate sections for the compact plate and applicator puff. And like all compacts, it comes with a thin plastic layer sheet on compact to protect it and of course, with a built-in mirror. So basically, the packaging is quite great and attractive and will really look great when you’ll pick it out from your handbag!

👉 Texture: The powder feels like a feather. Honestly, I swiped my finger over it and it was a feather touch. So soft and satin kind of feel. There was no roughness at all.

👉 Applicator: The puff is neither too rubbery nor too foamy and perfectly evens out the powder on face and leaves no lines or white patches. In fact, it does a great job if compared to the application from a brush. I usually pick a brush to apply compact but with this, I’ll suggest you go for the puff because it really gave a nice finish.
👉 My Experience: I picked up shade “Ivory Cream” for me. It says it has primer + matte foundation in it and believe me, it actually has. I am a person who likes to go for a concealer and compact for a regular routine like for regular local market visits. I go for step by step makeup routine only on weekends. And this 9 to 5 range is something I love because it focuses on the daily usage of the product.

I simply applied my moisturizer and picked up this compact. I started applying evenly and what I notice, that yes, it actually covers open pores. It actually did half of the job of primer. After finishing the application, I was really shocked to see a compact giving me a “foundation and compact” kind of look.

It gives a great coverage for daily use. It really covered the uneven areas, blemishes, and spots and gave me smooth and bright look. In fact, my face was so soft to touch! 😄 It instantly covered the shine on the face and my kept my face shine and oil-free for hours. Honestly, there is no need to pick separate primer and foundation with this compact for daily use. But yes if you are going for heavy makeup then you will need everything.
But, maybe it’s just me who thought that the powder gets brighter after a few seconds of application. 😄 And yes, the most important. You have to blend the powder in with your fingers like you apply the cream. Because, after half an hour I noticed that the powder was not settled and was collected on some spots because of sweat! I blended in with my fingers and it was all set for the day.
👉 Staying Power: The brightening effect fades in 3-4 hours but that primer, matte, oil and shine-free effect stays for a really long time. So yes, it does a great job as a multitasking product.
💁 Overall, it gives great coverage for daily use and keeps the face shine and oil free for hours. Covers the pores, blemishes, uneven skin tone and gives a bright, soft to touch, and matte look. Does its job of Primer+Matte Powder Foundation but needs to be blended in with fingers.
