YBP Calendula Healing Salve and Amethyst Gua Sha Pro Review

Spread the love :)

Sale Alert for my readers-

The day YBP Cosmetics Introduced PLANT REMEDY Calendula Healing Salve I decided to buy it along with their authentic Amethyst Gua Sha Pro stone. The first time I tried a stone was from an Instagram store and that was a rose quartz roller. I never buy anything from Instagram Stores but that was recommended to me by a friend. That time, I didn’t felt like if the rose quartz roller is doing anything, and neither I was able to connect with it.

Years later, when YBP Cosmetics introduced facial Gua Sha stones and shared how they sourced their stones originally from Brazil without any chemical treatments, I knew this is the one I need to invest in and because I had a great experience with YBP Plant Remedy, I knew that it is going to be pure and authentic.

I had my doubts with the Gua Sha because honestly, that was new for me and I guess for most of us. It took me days and weeks to finalize whether I want a Gua Sha for my skin. When YBP launched their Calendula Healing Salve and shared how implementing the salve along with gua sha is healthy for your skin, I then decided to have them both.

I trust YBP blindly, simply because they never bulk produce their products for commercial purposes, they always use originally sourced ingredients and they give in their time and everything to bring out the best.

In this post, I am going to share my experience with YBP Calendula Healing Salve and how I incorporated it into my lifestyle. Let us get started.

Review – YBP Healing Salve

YBP Calendula Healing Salve Sensitive Skin

My Skin Type: Combination to Oily in Summers, Dry in Winters, Sensitive, and Acne-Prone Skin

I bought the Calendula Salve in winters so it was all solidified and I had to melt it onto my hands. You can also keep the salve in a bowl of hot water or under the sun to melt it before applying. Calendula Salve comes in a dark glass tub with khadi packaging. It has its own wooden spatula to scoop out the salve gently and safely from the tub. The tub is completely mess-free and travel-friendly.

The moment I applied the salve onto my skin I got this soothing cocoa fragrance infused with other oils. The fragrance is so pure that it instantly soothed my mind and acted as aromatherapy.

YBP Cosmetics Calendula Healing Salve

I scooped a pea-sized amount with the help of a provided wooden spatula and gently massaged it onto my freshly cleansed skin. The texture, the consistency is just like oil on face would feel, thick and rich.

I won’t say it is lightweight or was absorbed by the skin within seconds because no, it is not. It is a pure thick blend of oils. The moment I massaged my face with the calendula salve, I could feel the heavy texture and glowy shine. This allowed me to massage my skin patiently with my YBP Amethyst Gua Sha Pro Stone. Being thick and rich is the property of Salve otherwise they won’t solve the purpose.

YBP Calendula Healing Salve and Gua Sha Review

If you are wondering if you can use the YBP Healing Salve as your Day Time Moisturizer for your college, office, or even for an event then no, it is going to look super oily and heavy.

I followed the ritual of massaging my face every night with Calendula Healing Salve followed by 10 to 15 minutes of Gua Sha. I didn’t use any moisturizer as it is extremely moisturizing in itself. It instantly soothes the dryness if any and gives my skin a boost of nourishment.

Because it is a thick rich blend of oils, I was worried at first if it is going to suit my oily skin or not. Even though it feels super oily and heavy upon application, it didn’t reacted with my skin. I even paired it up with Minimalist Serums or Vitamin C serum sometimes and worked really well.

After a week of usage, I at first, didn’t see any noticeable changes but I still continued to see what results I can expect. One day, I got this huge rash above my lips. It was so itchy and red. I decided to apply a tiny bit of calendula salve on the rash and within hours it was gone. The redness, the itch everything was gone. At that very moment, I was blown away by the Healing Salve.

With the regular usage and GUA SHA massage, I started to notice improved blood circulation along with nourishment and glow the calendula healing salve provides.

My baby cousin sister was playing around and got herself this huge bump on the head. I immediately massaged the bump with YBP Calendula Healing Salve and she actually stopped crying. Within minutes the bump and redness were gone. I then started to realize its true purpose.

Recently, my father got a severe skin and low blood circulation problem around the ankle. That particular area around the ankle started to develop extreme redness, pain, and bruises. He even consulted a doctor for the same but nothing really worked. The problem was getting worse day by day and the skin started to develop swollen lymph nodes. I then decided to massage the area with Calendula Healing Salve followed by 20 minutes of YBP Amethyst Gua Sha, and OH MY GOD! It worked like a miracle. Within two days of the Amethyst Gua Sha Massage, it started to heal, the blood circulation was back, the pain was reduced, the redness was slowing reducing and it started to heal.

At that very moment, I became a huge fan of YBP Calendula Healing Salve and YBP Gua Sha. It might have not shown any noticeable results as an everyday skincare product or maybe including it in my nighttime routine can change how my skin looks over the course of months but the way YBP healing salve has worked over the skin problems, I am highly impressed.

It suits my sensitive skin and is even great for people with eczema and other skin problems as it not only is suitable but also healed the skin problems.

Including oils in your Skincare routine can do wonders in long term. Our skin and body love natural oils. It might have not shown any visible short term changes to my facial skin but it has done wonders in healing and I am sure including Salve and Gua Sha routine will surely going to be helpful for my facial skin in long run.

I now use YBP Calendula Healing Salve as my weekly ritual followed by YBP Gua Sha Massage. I do not use this Healing Salve as my regular nighttime skincare product now, instead, I use the salve whenever I or anyone in my family face a skin allergy or for my weekly Gua Sha Routine. Because Gua Sha requires a slippery base, YBP Salve serves the best.

YBP Amethyst Gua Sha Pro

Price: Rs.2400/-

Product Description

YBP Gua Sha stones, Rose Quartz and Amethyst, are 100% natural stones originally sourced from Brazil, carved and polished without any chemical treatment. If you look closely, each piece will have its own unique crystalline formation and hence there will never be two pieces alike.
The purple/violet hue in the Amethyst quartz stone comes from the presence of magnesium and iron in the natural crystal. Amethyst is more expensive because of its rarity and difficulty in the carving process.

YBP makes Amethyst Gua Sha stones without using any chemicals to carve them, and without using any synthetic colors or glass crystals to make them more shiny and vibrant. It’s 100% natural stone, carved and made with the intention of keeping the ancient Chinese Gua Sha ritual in mind so that it can be used on delicate skin without worrying about its purity.
Since these are natural stones, there may be small dimples here and there, this is completely normal. These crystals are very delicate and should be handled with care. If you drop them, they will break.

Benefits of Gua Sha

  • Reduce puffiness and dark circles
  • Improve blood circulation, bringing oxygen and nutrient-rich blood to the skin cells
  • Reduce tension in facial muscles, softening the face and reducing the formation of harsh expression lines
  • Soften tissue adhesions which can inhibit the flow of vital fluids
  • Promote skin clarity, reducing acne and congestion by improving circulation and eliminating toxins
  • Expedites the healing of pimples and other skin issues
  • Strengthens cells to improve collagen production
  • Lifts and tightens skin
  • Prepares the skin to better absorb topical products for deeper and quicker penetration

Amethyst, in the spiritual world, is attached to our Crown Chakra, it balances our emotions and helps with decision making power. It is considered a strong stone for protection and healing. Its association with the Crown Chakra means many people use Amethyst as a crystal to enhance clarity of mind during meditation.

Review – YBP Gua Sha Amethyst Pro

YBP Amethyst Gua Sha Stone Review

I was super confused which one to for because this thing ain’t cheap. It is a super costly investment so I wanted to make the right decision. After days of thinking, I decided to go for YBP Amethyst Gua Sha Pro because I wanted to experience the best since I had not so good one with my past rose quartz roller.

Amethyst Gua Sha Pro has this unique zig-zag cuts which attracted me the most. Plus, I was attracted towards this variant the most hence I decided to go for it. When it comes to crystals, go with one you are most attracted to.

YBP Amethyst Gua Sha Pro Review

I started using the YBP Gua Sha and Healing Salve the same day because what could be the better combination. The Gua Sha stone came in a Khadi Bag with its Certificate of Authenticity and the best part, I could feel it is original.

Everytime I take Gua Sha out of its pouch, it feels cold and that is one sign of a real stone. I followed proper instructions, as shown by YBP’s owner Paayal Thaker on Instagram and kept my Gua Sha Massage as a part of my daily routine.

The very first thing I could notice was the instant calmness it provides. The release of tension from the facial and neck muscles and pressure on sore tensed areas could be felt easily. The second I rolled down the stone down the back of my neck, my whole body was relaxed. I literally got goosebumps.

At first, my only goal was to see what Gua Sha does to my skin but later I realized Gua Sha is more of a habit for healthy skin paired with Calendula Healing Salve to provide a richness of pure oils, improved blood flow, nourishment, and calmness.

With each and every stroke, my facial and neck muscles were relaxing and tensed soreness was going away. I continued this for a week or two and as mentioned above, there was a noticeable improvement in blood flow. Every night, it felt like a relaxation therapy to diffuse away all the stress and tensed muscles.

Following a Gua Sha routine can be so helpful for lymphatic drainage. Every time I ran the stone over my brows, I could feel the lymph nodes getting relaxed. According to Science, Lymphatic Drainage can actually help with the immunity and we really need that.

Because Gua Sha activates the Blood Flow and releases toxins from the body it is possible you might get a pimple or two. I got one too and at first, I thought it isn’t working for me but later a post from YBP at Instagram cleared my doubts that Gua Sha releases toxins and body waste which may result in a pimple or two initially.

I was wondering if it would work in treating acne but I didn’t see much results. For pimples and acne, I prefer Minimalist Salicylic Acid or The Face Shop Acne Patch.

As much as I enjoyed the process and the relaxation, I couldn’t keep it a regular thing because I’ll be honest, it requires time and most of the days, I started to feel lazy. I wanted to see how my skin would look over a month of Gua Sha Practice but my laziness came in between.

Even though I couldn’t use it daily, it did wonders whenever I used it to release muscle tension and soreness not only on the face but anywhere on the body. As I shared above, when paired with Calendula Healing Salve, it healed my father’s ankle skin and muscle problem within days like some magic.

The way YBP Gua Sha and Calendula Healing Salve worked together to heal any muscle soreness and skin problems, I am obsessed with these two now. Every time, I or someone in my family faces low blood circulation at a particular area, tiredness, tensed muscle, or even a skin problem, without any doubt I reach out to my YBP Gua Sha and Healing Salve and it works every time.

YBP Calendula Healing Salve worked like magic in treating rashes, bumps, and other skin problems. Paired with YBP Gua Sha, it improved blood circulation over time. It is super thick and rich in consistency and provides a boost of nourishment. A great remedy to treat eczema, itch, and other skin problems. It provides a great slippery base for gua sha massage. I now use Healing Salve as my weekly routine with 20 minutes of Gua Sha Massage with my YBP Amethyst GUA SHA Pro and as a remedy to treat skin allergy if any.

YBP Gua Sha Amethyst Pro works beautifully in releasing muscle tension and relaxing sore muscles. The curves and zig-zag edges add to improve blood circulation and instantly release tension from the facial, neck, and body muscles. Paired with Healing Salve, it healed my father’s ankle muscle and skin problem within days. Including YBP Calendula Healing Salve and Gua Sha, no doubt proved to be a healthy step towards a healthy skin and lifestyle.
