Palmer's Natural Fusion Rose Water Shampoo and Conditioner - Review
Palmer's Natural Fusion Rose Water Shampoo and Conditioner

We all are slowly moving towards skincare and haircare products which includes more organic ingredients and do not contain parabens, phthalates, and other not so skin-friendly ingredients.

Recently, I got to try Palmer's Natural Fusion Hair Care Range which is free from parabens, sulfates, phthalates, gluten, mineral oil, and even dyes.

I tried Palmer's Natural Fusion Micellar Rose Water Hair Cleanser and Lavender Rose Water Conditioner. Let us see how it worked for me.

But, before moving to the review, I would like to talk a little bit more about sulfates

Sulfates, which is commonly seen as SLS (Sodium Laureth Sulfate), or SLES (Sodium Lauryl Ether Sulfate), created a lot of buzz over the Internet all because it is believed that these ingredients are used in detergents so why to add them in beauty products.  In a common language, SLS, which is an accepted version of SLES, is a foaming agent used in beauty products which form the lather.

I did a bit research on the same and found that yes, SLES can be strong for skin and hair but SLS is an accepted version of SLES and used in approved amounts in the beauty products to form the lather. This can be understood when we are talking about oily skin or oily scalp. SLS, a foaming agent, forms the lather and attracts the oil and dirt which helps the product to give a clear skin.

Because I have oily skin and oily hair/scalp, I have personally felt that products which form a lather, work well for my skin and hair as they are able to clean properly.

Whereas dry skin people might find it strong.

The same goes for mineral oil. The approved amount and cosmetic-grade quantity of Mineral oil, highly refined, have been used in the beauty industry from ages. People with oily skin end up having clogged pores by using skincare products having mineral oil all because it creates a moisture barrier which locks the moisture in which might not be a good idea for oily skin. For dry skin people, it helps them to replenish their skin.

Read more on the mineral oil for skin, here.

Hence it is always a good idea to do good research on what we are using. Apart from that, do try to invest in quality and well-known brands as you will be sure of the quality of the products.

Phew! So much of talking, let us get into the review...

My Experience

The one I got is a PR Package, hence I have the tube packaging. I saw it online, it comes in a big bottle having a nozzle which I am guessing will make the application a lot easier.

The shampoo is extremely runny and transparent, like baby shampoo. Upon massaging it on my scalp, I noticed it isn't forming any lather. Understandable, as it does not contain sulfates.

While massaging my hair, I realized it is a mild shampoo and because I have heavy hair of long length and oily scalp, it required me to take the shampoo 4-5 times in order to clean my hair thoroughly.

After washing off, when my hair was completely dry, I noticed it actually cleansed well (Of course, I almost finished the tube in one go!). It removed the oiliness and greasiness from the scalp and hair but, it didn't remove the oil completely. There were some traces of oil left on my scalp. In case you are wondering, I didn't oil my hair before shampoo. 😅

I have tried other sulfate-free shampoo from st.botanica and they work really good. That's when I realized that palmer's one is super mild for me.

Might work well for people with the dry scalp as it requires a lot of amounts for the oily scalp to properly clean.

My Experience

The consistency and texture of the conditioner are similar to regular hair conditioners that are, thick, creamy, and white.

I took a coin-sized amount considering my hair length, massaged it on the ends and left it for a few minutes.

While washing-off, I could clearly feel the softness and smoothness. After my hair was completely dry, I could feel my hair super soft to touch.

On top of that, it controlled the frizz and reduced dryness

But, (here comes the but again!) I do feel that it slightly weighed down my hair. No doubt, my hair was clean, soft, and smooth to touch but that bounce and volume were missing a little bit. Not much of a problem though!

Overall, I liked it as it definitely added smoothness and softness to the hair.

In short,

Palmer's Natural Fusion Hair Care Range is a vegan range free from all the harsh chemicals. Good for people with chemically-treated hair or for everyone in general. Shampoo cleanses well but is mild for oily scalp. It requires a lot more amount as compared to another sulfate-free shampoo. The conditioner does an awesome job of leaving hair soft and smooth but slight weighs down the hair.

So This was it for today. I hope you have found this post helpful.

Have a Good Day! 😇
