Review – St.Botanica Argan and Rosehip Face Serum

My Skin Type: Combination to OIly, Sensitive, and Acne-Prone Skin.

🙋🏻‍♀️ I curated a list of

My Personal Favourites

Niharika X Nykaa

Packaging: It comes with a dropper bottle. Initially, I felt it is a glass bottle but it is not. I don’t know what the material is, doesn’t feel like cheap plastic but looks unbreakable for sure. I can’t comment if it can be travel-friendly.

Fragrance: Has a really strong fragrance of oils. Not bad but can be overpowering.

My Experience

Breakouts! Breakouts! Breakouts! I massaged it well before going to bed and the next morning, all I saw is clogged pores and pimples. I was really shocked to see that how a facial serum without any harmful chemicals can cause pimples overnight?

Though, a lot of websites says that Argan Oil is Non-Comedogenic and is 0 on the scale of Comedogenic Scale, on the other hand, a lot of consumers posted their stories where they experienced acne after using argan-oil based products. I can’t say if it was argan oil, rosehip, jojoba, carrot seed, or any other oil which caused me pimples, but this serum didn’t work for me at all.

Because I was not able to use this serum on a regular basis, I can not comment on the benefits it would have given.

Talking about consistency, it is definitely lightweight. It is a runny serum and easy to massage in. While massaging, I was able to feel a bit of stickiness like a facial oil. It is somewhere between a facial serum and facial oil. Because of it is texture, It will be ideal for dry skin to use in the nighttime skincare routine only, that is, before going to bed.

I would not recommend this St.Botanica Argan Oil and Rosehip Face Serum to Oily Skin and not at all if you have sensitive and acne-prone skin.

Summing Up

St.Botanica Argan and Rosehip Face Serum didn’t work for me and resulted in pimples. Definitely not for oily and sensitive skin as the serum is highly comedogenic.
