17 Things to Do to Reset Your Life in 2027

End of the year always feels like standing in a doorway. You can see where you’ve been, and you’re starting to feel the pull of where you want to go. This feeling of closing out the year with intention, to step into the new year feeling more aligned, more myself, more connected to something bigger.
This isn’t about hustling or fixing or changing everything overnight. It’s about the small, sacred things we forget to do. The ones that actually shift how we feel from the inside out.
1. Start Talking to Yourself Like You’re Someone Divinely Guided to Protect
I mean this literally. Change the voice in your head. When something goes wrong, instead of spiraling into “I’m such a mess” or “Why can’t I get it together,” pause and speak to yourself the way you’d speak to someone you deeply love and feel spiritually responsible for.
“It’s okay, we’ll figure this out.” “You’re doing better than you think.” It sounds simple, but this one shift can completely transform how you move through your days. You deserve your own kindness, your own gentle guidance.
2. Create a Visual Prayer Board That Isn’t About Manifestation
Forget the vision boards focused on material things or achievements. Make something different.
Collect images, words, colors, textures that represent how you want to feel in 2027. Safe. Connected. Joyful. At peace. Held by something bigger than yourself. Print them, cut them from magazines, draw them.
Arrange them somewhere you’ll see every day. This is your visual reminder of the energy you’re calling in, the version of yourself you’re honoring.
3. Spend an Afternoon Learning About Your Birth Chart Beyond Your Sun Sign
If you’ve only ever looked at your sun sign, you’re missing so much. Your birth chart is like a map of your soul’s blueprint.
Spend some real time understanding your moon sign (your emotional world), your rising sign (how you meet the world), your Venus placement (how you love and receive love).
There are beautiful free resources online that break it all down. Understanding these parts of yourself can feel like finally being seen, like the universe handed you a manual for your own heart.
4. Start a Food Diary and Actually Honor What Your Body Is Asking For
Get a small, pretty notebook and start tracking what you eat. Not to restrict or punish yourself, but to finally see the patterns.
My Personal Favourites
Notice and mark down when you reach for sugar because you’re stressed versus when you actually want it. Maybe you’ll realize you need to cut out refined sugar for a while, or that refined flour that makes you feel heavy, or that you feel best when you’re eating more whole foods.
I too have a small diary where I put a cross on the days when I had what I planned to cut down and this actually helped me reducing consumption of bread!!
Your energy, your mood, your clarity, it all starts with what you’re putting into your body.
5. Clear Out Your Texts Like You’re Releasing Old Energy
Go through your messages and delete entire conversations that feel heavy. The ones with people you don’t talk to anymore, the arguments that went nowhere, the situationships that fizzled out.
You don’t need a digital archive of things that are over. Every time you open your phone, you’re subconsciously reminded of all that old energy. Release it.
Let your phone feel lighter, like it’s only holding what’s current and true.
6. Find One Spiritual Practice That Isn’t Meditation
Meditation is beautiful, but it’s not the only way to connect with something greater.
Maybe for you it’s walking in nature with no music, just noticing. Maybe it’s lighting incense and sitting in silence for five minutes before bed. Maybe it’s pulling a tarot card each morning and journaling about what it brings up. Maybe it’s painting, or humming, or lying on the floor and just breathing with your hand on your heart. Find what makes you feel held by the universe, and do that. 🙌

7. Cook One Meal That Feels Like an Offering
Not just throwing something together, but really cooking with intention.
Light a candle, play music you love, move slowly. Make something nourishing and beautiful, a warm soup with fresh herbs, pasta with vegetables you picked out at the market, golden rice with spices that smell like comfort.
As you cook, think of it as an act of devotion to yourself, to your body, to this life you’re living. Sit down and eat it without your phone. Taste every bite. This is what it means to care for yourself in a way that feels sacred.

8. Write Down Three Things You’re Ready to Stop Apologizing For
We apologize for so much. For taking up space, for having needs, for being too much or not enough. Write down three things you’re releasing from the apology list.
Maybe it’s I’m done apologizing for needing alone time.” Or, “I’m done apologizing for not being available to everyone all the time.”
Put this list somewhere you’ll see it. Every time you catch yourself about to apologize for one of these things, remember: you already decided you’re done with that.
9. Revisit a Creative Hobby You Abandoned and Don’t Judge What You Make
Remember when you used to draw, or write poetry, or make jewelry, or take photos, or do nails art, just because it felt good? Go back to it for one afternoon.
Don’t aim for perfection or worry about whether it’s “good enough.” Just let your hands remember what they used to love doing. Creativity is how we process things we can’t put into words. It’s how we reconnect with the parts of ourselves that existed before we learned to be so self-critical.
10. Set Up a Morning Moment That Connects You to Gratitude
Before you reach for your phone, before you start thinking about everything you need to do, give yourself one minute. Place your hand over your heart and think of three specific things you’re grateful for.
Not generic things, but small and real.
- The way my tea tasted this morning.
- That my friend texted me something funny yesterday.
- The fact that my body woke up today and is carrying me through this life.
- Being grateful for your pets
- Being grateful for your family, your fully functioning body, — literally everything!!
Let this be the first energy you invite into your day. 🎀
11. Audit Your Commitments and Release One That’s Draining You
Look at your calendar, your regular obligations, the things you’ve said yes to. Is there something you’re doing out of guilt, or because you felt like you should, or because you committed months ago when you were in a different season of life? Release it.
Send the kind but firm message. Step away from the group project. Leave that What’sApp group that isn’t relevant or aligning with your energy anymore. Quit the book club that feels like homework. Your energy is precious, and protecting it is a spiritual act.
12. Create a Nighttime Ritual That Feels Like Closure
How you end your day matters just as much as how you begin it. Find a way to close each day with intention. Perhaps it’s writing three sentences in a journal about what you noticed or felt. Maybe it’s a specific tea you only drink before bed. Maybe it’s stretching for five minutes while you reflect on what you’re releasing from the day.
Or, maybe it’s saying a small prayer or affirmation: “I did my best today.” This is how you let each day go instead of carrying it all into tomorrow.

13. Make Peace with One Thing You Thought You’d Have Done by Now
We all have them. The goals we didn’t hit, the timelines that didn’t work out, the versions of ourselves we thought we’d be by this age. Choose one and release it with compassion. Not by giving up on it, but by accepting that the timeline wasn’t yours to control.
Growth happens in its own time, and you’re exactly where you need to be to become who you’re meant to be.

14. Give Yourself Ten Minutes of Pure Silence Every Day
Not meditation with an app, not quiet music in the background, but actual silence. We’ve become so uncomfortable with it, filling every moment with podcasts or scrolling or noise.
But silence is where you hear yourself again. Where you reconnect with that inner knowing, that divine guidance that gets drowned out by everything else.
Sit by a window, lie on your bed, stand outside. Just be. Let the silence feel uncomfortable at first, and then let it become the most peaceful part of your day. This is where clarity lives.
15. Curate Your Feed Like You’re Protecting Your Mental Garden
Go through every single account you follow. Unfollow the ones that make you feel inadequate, anxious, or like you’re constantly behind.
Unfollow the drama, the comparison traps, the people who only post to make you feel something negative.
Then intentionally follow accounts that teach you something meaningful, poetry, art, philosophy, spirituality, gentle reminders about being human. Your daily scroll should leave you feeling inspired or calm, not depleted. What you consume shapes how you think, and you deserve better than chaos.
16. Start Saving Like You’re Honoring Your Future Self
We’ve spent enough money. On things that didn’t matter, on trying to keep up, on filling voids that shopping was never going to fix. Open a separate savings account if you don’t have one. Even if you can only put away a small amount each week, start.
This isn’t just about saving. To me it’s more like, I am done wasting money on short term things. I want to focus on something bigger and just on the things that can be only brought by money.
Every time you transfer money into it, think of it as an act of love for the version of yourself who will need that security, that freedom, that choice.
17. Commit to Choosing Yourself One Small Way Every Single Day
This is the practice that changes everything. Every day, do one thing that’s just for you. Not for productivity, not for anyone else, not even for self-improvement. Just because it makes you feel good.
Taking the long way home. Buying yourself flowers. Sitting in the sun for ten minutes. Reading a chapter of a book. Dancing in your kitchen. Saying no when you want to say no.
This is how you build a life where you’re not an afterthought in your own story. This is how you remember that you matter, that your peace matters, that your joy is worth protecting.
