Ingredients

Review of FACES Ultime Pro Mineral Loose Powder – Natural Beige 05

My Skin Type: Light with Pink Undertones. Combination to Oily, Sensitive, and Acne-Prone Skin

Packaging: First thing first, I am pretty attracted to this black and metallic packaging. At first, I thought it is a heavy glass body but it is a plastic body which reduces the risk of breakage. The cap is spill proof and you can easily carry it in your handbag. It comes with an inbuilt setting sponge which has its own pros and cons. The applicator and powder are separated by a separating tray with see-through strips which also controls the dispense of the powder.

The Sponge Applicator

First, I didn’t like the sponge at all because it is a bit stiff to be an applicator for a powder product. If you are habitual of using compact sponges or pads you will definitely find this applicator a bit hard at first. But later I found it does a good job of setting the powder in.

I dabbed the powder with the sponge and it was pretty good. Though I wasn’t able to reach the corners of my eyes with this and you need to dab-dab-dab to evenly spread it plus you need to tap the jar every time to collect the powder on the sponge but still, I liked the finish. Not the best, but okay. You will definitely need a powder brush too to reach the corners of your eyes and nose.

Silky Smooth Texture and Natural Finish

The texture is so smooth! Like seriously, silky smooth. I could literally feel that softness on my fingertips when I tested the powder first. On the face, it again felt silky soft to the touch. I applied it under my eye and I could feel the difference between the under-eye area of both eyes. The powdered area was baby soft. It instantly gave me an even-toned, smooth, bright, matte, and finished look. Though that softness doesn’t last for long and will fade away in an hour or so,, it keeps the skin oil-free for hours.

Sets the Foundation and Concealer In

My compact could never have done it. Maybelline Superfresh and Lakme 9 to 5 Compact are still my favorites but when it comes to setting my makeup in place, FACES loose powder has done a really good job. It sets my under-eye concealer in place and prevents it from creasing. Also, it gives a natural finish to the skin which I personally like. I use the in-built applicator to set my makeup and then touch it up with a brush to give a final finish to it.

Mattifies the Skin

If you have oily skin, you are going to love it. But if you sweat like a crazy person like me, then nothing can control the sweat shine. Keeping away the sweat, it instantly controls the oily shine and leaves a matte finish. It controls the oil and shines for good 5-6 hours. With my compact powders, my T-zone area used to turn oily and shine like a bulb within an hour, but with FACES loose powder, I didn’t face any such problem. For sweat shine, blotting papers are your best buddy.

Low Coverage but a Great Natural Finish

This doesn’t give any coverage like a compact does but it gives my skin a soft natural matte finish which is easily noticeable. It doesn’t give me white lines and it doesn’t settle into pores. It works more like a mattifying setting powder. Plus, it is non-comedogenic so it doesn’t clog my pores.

Can it be replaced with a Compact?

Nope! Compact powders give you an even finish with even-toned coverage. I sometimes use compact with my moisturizers just to give my skin an even skin finish whereas FACES loose powder doesn’t give any coverage.

Can a Compact Powder replace loose powder?

Again, No! Because of the way loose powder set my makeup, controls the shine, and keeps my skin oil-free and matte for hours, no compact has done it. They do the best job of setting your makeup in and giving you a natural finish. I use this when I am going for full-face makeup and will be out for long hours.

Can a Loose Powder Be Used as Baking Powder?

Well, using a liberal amount of setting powder serves the purpose of baking but I personally don’t do that with my FACES loose powder as it is costly and I don’t want to waste it. I’ll go for Banana Powder or my Wet n Wild Contour Kit which is having a light shade of Banana Powder.

Can Dry Skin People Use it?

Well, I have dry skin beauties using it and loving it as it mattifies your skin at the same time, it doesn’t make your skin dry or patchy and doesn’t rip your skin moisture off. So yeah dry skin people can use it for an even natural finish.

Summing Up

FACES Ultime Pro Mineral Loose Powder stays true to its claim of providing a silky smooth natural finish like a second skin. It doesn’t give any coverage but It works great as a setting and finishing powder which sets my concealer and foundation in place without creasing. It Instantly provides me silky soft, bright, smooth touch and an even-toned natural finish. It controls the shine up to a bit and keeps my skin oil-free and matte for hours which a compact couldn’t.
