Review – MAC Retro Matte Liquid Lipstick Carnivorous
Packaging: It comes a lightweight glass-like packaging with a twistable cap having a doe-foot applicator attached to it.
Fragrance: It has a mild cocoa kind of fragrance. Not at all strong or irritating and is comfortable to senses.
I always prep my lips first with a lip balm always before applying any lip color but simply to test the lipstick, for the MAC Retro Matte Carnivorous Review, I wore it without any lip balm to see is it drying and if yes, how it feels on the lips.
First thing first, the application of MAC Retro Matte Liquid Lipstick Carnivorous is really smooth like butter. It literally glides on the lips evenly without being patchy. I love it when the application of liquid lipsticks is pigmented and even.
Talking about the pigmentation, MAC Carnivorous is intensely pigmented. I didn’t felt the need to apply layers in order to get the color. My lips have started to get slight discoloration and the pigmentation of MAC Carnivorous totally concealed it resulting in an even application.
The doe-foot applicator is soft but not flimsy at the same time which is great. A lot of times applicators feel so light and flimsy in order to have the softness in them. But the MAC Liquid Lipstick Carnivorous has this perfect soft and sturdy applicator which made the application smooth and easy.
Post application, it takes a few seconds to dry and then it turns matte. There was a slight dryness on my lips and that was because I didn’t apply lip balm first. But later, when I tested it out after applying lip balm, it didn’t felt dry at all.
Next, it was time to test out whether it is transfer-proof and long-wearing or not and sadly, it does transfers and it is not long-wearing.
I wore my MAC Carnivorous on my family outing, we had a meal and the lipstick was all over the spoons and cups. Next thing I noticed, it was off from my lips leaving the few lines on my lips. It literally broke my heart because first, it is MAC and second, it is MAC!!
So, it definitely didn’t fulfill the claim of long-wearing but it does fulfill the claim of smooth application and rich pigmentation.
