Winter is almost here, which means that it’s time to update your beauty routine. Since our skin tends to get drier during winter months, you should definitely opt for treatments that will keep your skin moisturized and plump. 

If you’re afraid to trust your face to a beautician, fear not, because there are many treatments that you can do by yourself in the comfort of your home. 

First, in order to remove dead skin cells, make sure to exfoliate, but don’t opt for harsh exfoliators as they can cause micro-tears in your skin. Chemical peelings and/or gentle exfoliators should be your go-tos when you want to add some summer glow to your skin. 

2. Work on That Body, Girl

Every time summer’s near there’s constant chatter about getting that beach body ready. But, if you truly want that summer body, you should definitely start earlier, preferably during the winter. The issue with that is, winter is a time when we just want to curl up under the blanker with some snacks and our favorite Netflix show. But, you can still do some light workouts at home, especially if you feel too lazy to go to the gym. 

Still, there are still treatments, such as non-invasive cool sculpting procedure that can help you get rid of some stubborn fat, and they’re often best done during the winter because cold temperatures are the perfect way to hide your body under layers of clothes while your body sheds fat. 

So, when the summer comes, you’ll be more than ready to proudly rock that new body of yours!

3. A Relaxing Body Massage

Winter is the perfect time to treat yourself to a relaxing body massage, but it’s important to find a professional massage therapist who’ll be able to help you with tense muscles and stiff body parts. 

Choosing a reputable masseuse is crucial since an unqualified person can often cause more harm than good. But, the key is to opt for a massage with natural oils, as they can penetrate and moisturize the skin. 

The best (and most commonly used) oils are: jojoba, argan, olive and coconut oil, but some massage therapists like to use avocado and apricot oil as well. And if you don’t feel like leaving your home, there are therapists that can come to your place and help you relax your muscles in the comfort of your home.

4. A Keratin Hair Treatment

Your hair is your important feature and harsh winter can significantly affect it, therefore it’s essential to keep it healthy. And if you’re living in a cold climate, then you’re familiar with hair issues such as frizziness and unruly texture. 

A keratin treatment can help you tame your texture and repair broken hair cuticles. Most importantly, a keratin treatment can shorten your blow-dry time, which can be especially helpful if you prefer to blow dry your hair every morning before work, therefore you’ll have less time to enjoy your first coffee and scroll through your social media while snuggled in your bed.

5. A Protective Nail Treatment

Your nails can say a lot about you, mainly about your self-care routine, so keeping your nails in good shape is a must, especially during the winter when they can get brittler than usual and prone to breaking. So you can protect them with a quality basecoat, polish and topcoat to make sure your polish stays on for longer. 

Also, it’s important to clip and file them regularly in order to avoid splitting. Even if you decide to wear nail extensions, always go to a reputable nail artist who knows their job so you won’t end up with damaged nails. Finally, don’t forget to keep your hands moisturized, even if you’re wearing gloves while being outside.


Winter doesn’t have to be a period spent at home in hibernation. You deserve to look and great during all seasons, so make sure to pamper yourself with these beauty treatments not only to minimize the effect of the cold weather but also to feel beautiful and happy with yourself.
