Being a powerful woman can be time-consuming and stressful, especially if you occupy a position of power. That is when Mindfulness Practices come to help improve our everyday health and lifestyle. Since you have a demanding job, and possibly family duties too, it’s necessary to find a way how to unwind from everyday stress. Smashing those glass ceilings can be a tiring business, so here are some mindful practices that you could incorporate into your routine to pamper yourself for your “me-time”.

Let us get into the details…

5 Mindfulness Practices from Powerful Women

1. Do Things that Bring you joy

If you’re constantly under pressure then you should use your free time to relax.

Reading trashy novels and watching reality TV is fine as long as you don’t get too immersed in the petty lives of those who live for attention.

Browsing social media is okay until you decide to participate in petty arguments in various comment sections. It’s fine to use these things to destress, but you shouldn’t use them as a way to channel your negative emotions.

Finding healthier ways to do so is a much better option. You should never feel bad about enjoying lowbrow entertainment.

What you do in your free time is nobody’s business. If watching Real Housewives makes you happy and relaxed, there’s no need to justify yourself to anybody.

A lot of people find pleasure in putting others down, so you really shouldn’t pay attention to their opinion.

2. Get Physically Active

Getting physically doesn’t have to be sweating in the gym because any type of movement counts as an exercise. If you think that working out after a long day in the office is time-consuming, then walking for half an hour in the neighborhood is also acceptable.

If that’s also too much, then consider investing in a quality treadmill so you don’t have to leave home. Use weekends for fun joyful activities that involve moving.

Go swimming or play tennis with your friends. Pilates is also a great way to get in shape and stretch at the same time. Stretching is recommended if you spend a lot of hours sitting behind the desk.

3. Find Time to Relax

Relaxing can be done through watching TV or reading romance books, but true relaxing means turning your phone off and tuning yourself from the day-to-day buzz.

Next time you find yourself anxious, try to take some time for yourself. Make a bath and get some aromatic candle supplies, then dive in and don’t answer your phone or emails. Even if it’s something urgent, it can wait for at least half an hour.

Your well-being should always be your priority, and if anyone tells you differently, just dust it off. Nobody ever got happy by caring about what other people think.

Finding time for yourself also means reading a meaningful book, watching an insightful documentary, and listening to an inspiring podcast about something you’re deeply interested in.

4. Meditate

There are many benefits of meditation, so it’s no surprise that many successful people practice it on a daily basis. Meditation can help you reduce stress, control anxiety and improve your attention span.

The best thing is, you can do it wherever and whenever you want. Meditating before sleep can contribute to better sleep quality. If you’re more of a morning person, then feel free to meditate after you wake up, since then you’re more refreshed and rested.

Also, morning meditation can really prepare you for a hectic day that’s ahead of you. If you’re new to meditation, it might be difficult to get used to it, since our brains are so used to constant stimulation from everywhere.

Download popular Meditation Apps like Headspace or Calm to get started, and remember to be persistent. You may not succeed at first, but that doesn’t mean that you should give up on one of the most mindful practices that can benefit you in so many ways.

5. Treat Yourself

Ah, the best practice of them all. Treating yourself is the easiest and most gratifying practice you can do. You can go to a spa for a massage, manicure or a facial — these will definitely help you look and feel better.

In case you’re too busy to drive to a spa center, you can treat yourself to a nice meal from your favorite restaurant, or order something from your fave online store. Just be careful to do it in moderation, and always focus on your mental well-being first.

Many people treat retail therapy as a legitimate therapy, and even though shopping can help you feel better, don’t forget that it’s only short-term happiness. Instead, you should focus on your mental health and always remember that you can’t shop your way to happiness.

Summing Up

So, these will surely help you stay true to yourself while you’re also juggling your job obligations, private matters, and other stuff. Finding time for self-care isn’t a luxury, it’s the fundamental need of every person. And no matter what others say, you should never sacrifice your happiness to please others.

This was it for today. I hope you have found this post helpful. Have a Good Day! 😇
